Chapter 2671: Angry Shadows(2)

Chapter 2671: Angry Shadows(2)

After a long, awkward moment of silence, the waitress finally snapped out of her daze and spoke, "S-Sorry, but can you repeat that? I think I misheard you just now."

Yuan calmly repeated, "Bring me your manager."

"I’m sorry, but the manager is not part of the—"

"I’m not here for pleasure. I have business with your manager. I don’t like repeating myself because my hands get itchy, which makes me want to get violent, so hurry up."

"I-I understand... please give me a moment to speak with the manager." The waitress bowed to him before leaving in a hurry.

A few minutes later, the door to Yuan’s private room opened, and several bulky, intimidating-looking men stepped inside.

Yuan calmly swept his gaze over the group and remarked sarcastically, "Are all of you managers here? One would’ve been enough."

Then, one of the men stepped forward and said, "You’re not welcome at our establishment. You can either leave peacefully and in one piece, or leave in a body bag."

"What a drastic difference between those two choices." Yuan shook his head. "Also, I warned the waitress that if I had to repeat myself, I might have to get violent."

The men said nothing and exchanged glances before nodding in unison.

They turned their attention back to Yuan, and they started approaching him with aggressive movements.

Seeing this, Yuan immediately stood up and fought back. Even without using his cultivation, his superior physique alone was more than enough to deal with them.

"Agh!"

"How the hell are his punches so heavy?! It felt like I was struck by a spiked mace!"

With just a single punch from Yuan, the men were sent flying across the room, and in what felt like the blink of an eye, they were all lying on the cold floor, groaning in pain.

However, the men did not give up so easily. After taking a moment to steady themselves, they rose to their feet and reached for the weapons concealed beneath their clothes.

Yuan raised an eyebrow at the sight, though not because they had decided to resort to deadly force.

"Flip knives? Really?" Yuan muttered in surprise.

"You’re dead meat, bastard!"

"I’ll fucking cut you into a hundred pieces!"

The men shouted as they began closing in on Yuan with slow, cautious steps, clearly still wary of him.

However, they abruptly stopped in their tracks when Yuan drew his sword and casually waved it around like a magic wand.

"A-A high-grade weapon!"

When the men realized what Yuan was holding, they swiftly backed away until they were outside the room, then closed it.

"Q-Quick! Somebody go get the manager!"

"I’ll go!"

"No, I’ll go!"

Half of them began fighting for the role. Eventually, someone who wasn’t part of the argument decided to go himself, leaving the others speechless.

While that man went to get the manager, the others stayed outside Yuan’s door, just in case he wanted to leave.

Fortunately for them, Yuan had no intention of leaving and patiently stayed inside the room until a woman appeared a few minutes later.

"Is he still inside?" The woman asked the men stationed outside.

"Yes, he is."

"I’ll be back."

"I’m coming in." The woman knocked on the door and announced her intent before entering.

Once inside, she could see Yuan calmly seated on one of the couches.

"I’m the manager of the Happy Pub. I heard you have some grievances with us. What is the issue, and how can we solve it?"

However, Yuan didn’t respond and merely stared at her in silence.

Just as the woman opened her mouth again, Yuan retrieved his sword and stabbed it into the table before him. Then he examined the woman’s reaction. If she was truly the manager of this place and related to the Angry Shadows, she’d recognize it.

However, the woman merely raised her eyebrows in a puzzled manner, looking like she was seeing the sword for the first time.

"I am trying to resolve your issue, and you’re threatening me with a weapon? Do you really want to resolve it, or are you just here to cause trouble? If it’s the latter, you can leave, or we’ll call the authorities," said the woman a moment later.

"Are you the manager of this place?" Yuan then asked.

"That’s right. And you called for me, no?"

Yuan narrowed his eyes at the woman, who did not appear to be lying.

"Unfortunately, you’re not qualified to resolve my issue. Who is above you? The owner of this place?"

"Looks like I will have to get the authorities involved..." The woman sighed.

She turned around and prepared to leave, but halted when Yuan spoke, "Are you sure you want to do that? It might reveal the truth about this place."

"What nonsense are you spewing? There’s nothing—"

"Angry Shadows..." Yuan muttered their name, and when the woman heard it, her expression changed drastically.

"Oh? Judging by your reaction, you are definitely connected to them. I was beginning to worry that I might have been fed the wrong information."

The woman did not respond. Instead, she silently approached Yuan and took a seat beside him.

Then, she placed a hand on his thigh and began gently caressing it.

"Esteemed guest, why don’t we continue this conversation in my private chambers?" she said.

Yuan smiled and replied, "I’ll consider it... if you show me what you’re hiding in your other hand."

In response, the woman suddenly whipped out her other hand, which had been concealed within her outfit, and drove what appeared to be a needle straight into Yuan’s thigh.

"I don’t know how you obtained that information, but that’s not something a stranger like you should be uttering!" the woman said coldly. "You’ve been poisoned. You have one minute to consume the antidote before the poison kills you, and if you want it, you’ll answer my questions!

But instead of panicking as she expected, Yuan burst out laughing, leaving the woman speechless and bewildered.
