Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 2242: Heavenly River Modifications, End (3)

Chapter 2242: Heavenly River Modifications, End (3)

Feeling a sense of relief now that the modification had come to an end and the spatial anchors holding up the heavenly river stopped their decline and instead started to slowly recover on their own, Xuan Hao gave the heavenly river a quick sweep with his divine sense to ensure everything was fine and there wasn’t some kind of hidden danger that would erupt the second he shifted his attention elsewhere before he finally returned to his cultivation. Knowing that the danger from the heavenly river had subsided.

As for what came next? That was not something he was too worried about, as he was sure Elder Song would handle it appropriately and make sure the aquatic spiritual herbs now growing throughout the heavenly river were put to proper use when they matured.

The only change outside of those aquatic spiritual herbs that would affect someone other than Baobao, were the small pieces of land that had popped up along the circular section of the heavenly river. Reason being that the suppression from the heavenly river was somewhat reduced on those small pieces of land. Making it easier for someone to cultivate and comprehend the Dao of Water while sitting on top those small pieces of land compared to sitting directly on the heavenly river itself.

Although it didn’t really matter much for now given how the pressure from the heavenly river had not yet become strong enough to stop the elders of the sect from freely traversing it, the same could not be said for the future when the heavenly river became larger and the pressure surrounding it increased.

When the time came, those small pieces of land scattered throughout the heavenly river would undoubtedly become important for those who wanted to cultivate the Dao of Water close to the Heavenly River.

But that was still a matter for the future, as for now, the main purpose of those small pieces of land would be as places for the younger disciples to remain, as with the assistance of someone stronger carrying them, Core Formation Realm disciples would be able to stay within the heavenly river relying on those small pieces of land without needing any assistance from their elders.

Of course, with the small pieces of land being so useful, it was without question that the artificial island centered on the sky spring would be a far better place to cultivate- or that was at least how it looked on the surface, but with the sky spring being there and the modifications done by Mui turning this small artificial into the wellspring of the heavenly river, it had become difficult even for elders at the Soul Ascension Realm to approach, let alone disciples at the Core Formation Realm.

This did mean that the artificial island was the best place for someone to comprehend the Dao of Water throughout the heavenly river, but would at the same time also turn the artificial island into the most difficult to approach location within the heavenly river in the future. Ensuring that the place surrounding the artificial island developed in a similar manner. Ensuring that Baobao’s home would remain protected even without any rules of the sect stopping others from approaching.

After all, rules might stop the disciples or elders of the current generation from recklessly approaching, but who knew about the future? To make sure no one ended up disturbing Baobao in the future, Mui had made sure to develop this natural barrier that would only grow stronger with time.

Even if some mischievous disciples or elders wanted to sneak into Baobao’s home in the future, it would be impossible with this kind of terrifying natural suppression around...

"Haha, I didn’t expect for you to do something like this when I wasn’t looking, even managing to convince a few elders to follow along." And as Mui was deep in thought about the future development of the artificial island and the heavenly river, a familiar voice sounded out beside her. Forcing her to slowly shift her gaze towards the older man that had emerged above the section of the heavenly rivers he was floating above. "Elder Song..." Muttering the name of the older man with a hint of worry in her tone.

"No need to worry, I’m not here to scold you this time around. On the contrary, I’m here to praise you. The changes you did to the heavenly river this time around was not only beneficial, but also aided the cultivation of several younger disciples, some of them even breaking through from the Core Formation Realm to the Nascent Soul Realm." Shaking his head reassuringly as he saw the worried expression on her face, Elder Song quickly explained himself, causing her tense expression to ease significantly knowing she wasn’t in trouble. "But... Next time, I would love if you informed me about something like this ahead of time so I could prepare."

"That...I’m sorry, I will make sure to inform you next time..." Knowing there was no trouble waiting for her, Mui quickly nodded her head like an eager young chick. Feeling like agreeing with Elder Song today would make it far easier for her to carry out some of the other things she had wanted to do but felt was too difficult because of how it was likely to get shot down the second she began making any large-scale changes to the environment of the Shattered Star Peaks.

"Good!" Nodding his head with a small approving smile on his lips, Elder Song soon shifted his attention away from Mui towards the three elders who had been doing their best to try and disappear by shrinking their presence to the best of their abilities. "And you three... Aiding this little troublemaker should be because you learnt about how this was something that would aid the development of the sect? Right?"

"""YES!!!"""

Not hesitating for even a second upon hearing the question posed by Elder Song, all three of them answered without hesitation. Showing a confident expression on their faces as they suddenly changed from a group of cowards trying to shrink away into a group of proud seniors who had long since seen how the modifications of the heavenly river would go.

"Hm... Good, but don’t keep this kind of thing hidden next time around..." Narrowing his eyes slightly as he said this, all three of the elders felt a shiver run down their spine, like their innermost thoughts had just been seen through by him...

"Yes!"

"Of course, Vice Sect Master!"

"Don’t worry, if something like this happens again, we will make sure to inform you, Vice Sect Master!"

Something that caused them to answer even more eagerly than they had earlier, as they almost fought over becoming the most understanding in the eyes of Elder Song.

After all, while Elder Song’s strength might not be anywhere near the highest in the sect, his influence as the current vice sect master was bar none and a single command issued by him could essentially doom an elder to guard a small branch sect outside the Shattered Star Peaks.

Sure, the contribution points from doing something like that was far from low, but not many wanted to take on contribution missions like that because of the simple fact that it meant they wouldn’t be able to enjoy the cultivation environment of the Shattered Star Peaks and would inevitably see their cultivation speed slow down.

For now, the elders taking on these kinds of mission had either been forcibly assigned by Elder Song after they were seen as slacking off or were elders in need of contribution points for the ascension realm tower or guidance from a senior after finding themselves stuck at a bottleneck.

Of course, Xuan Hao was one of the people whom they could request guidance from, but the cost in terms of contribution points was far too much for any of the elders to realistically afford.

So, most often, the elders they requested help from were those who had broken through to the Dao Seed Relam, as in the eyes of most elders between the Domain Lord Realm and the Soul Ascension Realm, these senior figures were more than strong enough to guide them and would also be knowledgeable about what they were struggling with.

Not that Xuan Hao wouldn’t know something like that, but he was simply far too expensive for these elders to request personal guidance from him. The only ones who might think about asking him for personal guidance being the few elders at the Dao Seed Realm, though, none of them had reached a bottleneck where they needed that kind of guidance after entering the Star Shattering Sect and found their progress through the Dao Seed Realm so far smooth without any roadblocks.

Maybe only when an elder began approaching the Celestial Immortal Realm or the Profound Immortal Realm would Xuan Hao see the first official request for personal guidance get exchanged by one of these stronger elders of the sect.
