Ning Mei took another bite and said, " Sir, you are acting too friendly with me. You have not drugged this cake, did you? So now that I am eating it, I will pass out and you will kidnap me? Huh? " She said that with a straight face and took another bite from the cake.
The old man blinked twice before bursting out in laughter. He nodded and said, " You have a good sense of humour, lass. " Then suddenly his face turned serious and he said, " But yes, you caught that correctly. Now you will pass out, and I will kidnap you and get your married with my grandson."
Ning Mei looked at the old man, for a second before taking another bite from the cake.
The next second, the man rolled his eyes and waved his hand saying, " Nahh. I was just kidding."
" I know. " She murmured.
" But I indeed brought two slices of the cake here and riled you up to take one from me, so that I could start a conversation with you." The man blatantly confessed.
Ning Mei licked her lips as she ate the last bite of the blueberry cheesecake, and nodded. " I could tell that." Then she looked at him and said, " But why did you do it?"
The old man shrugged taking a bite from his own food and said, " So that we can be friends? "
On hearing this, Ning Mei turned interested and she put her face on her hands and asked, " And why do you want to be my friend?"
" So that you be my granddaughter in law. " This man was a little too much straight forward, Ning Mei thought to herself.
She waved her hand and said, " Sorry. But I am interested. "
" Why so?" The man seemed genuinely curious.
" I am taken." Ning Mei answered as a matter of fact.
The old man pressed his lips together and said, " But he is very rich. More than you can imagine."
Ning Mei casually shrugged and said, " My man is richer." And doubt, someone can rival his richness easily.
" My grandson is very good looking. "
" My man is the most handsome. " Heh! There is noone that can rival my baby’s looks anyway.
" So, you are not interested in my grandson not matter what?" The man asked.
" Sir, I am not interested in any man in the world other than mine. My man is just perfect. " She said without any hesitation.
" Hmm... As you say. The garlic bread tastes good too. " The man looked like he gave up of his idea of making her his granddaughter in law. And he changed the subject.
Ning Mei was glad too that he did not strech the topic any longer. And she also found it quite fun talking to him.
The old man was enjoying his dinner with Ning Mei, both of them talking about absolutely baseless silly things. It was then that two other souls in the room saw them and froze.
Gu Liya nudged her brother’s arm, who was a frozen statue and said in a daze, " Brother? Do you see what I am seeing? "
Gu Yehan was frozen stiff like a stone statue. He said, " I would rather want both of ours eyes get damaged than to believe this sight."

This was the old man of the Gu Corporations, Gu Haosung. The founder of Gu Corporations.
And the biggest question right now was, what is he doing here for god’s sake?!
Wasn’t he complaining today morning that his limbs are getting old and that he would not live for long enough to look at his great grand childrens faces. Gu Yehan and Gu Liya’s brains were almost fried by this man today.
The two wondered what Elder Gu was speaking to Ning Mei about.
But Gu Yehan was currently praying to all his eighteen ancestors right now, that his grandfather must not know of Ning Mei and Gu Yeze’s marriage!
It was not that Gu Yehan was against it or anything. Absolutely not! But he was sure that when Elder Gu learns about it, it would be his poor self that would be put to death for not informing about something so important in their first grandson’s life. His poor pitiful self!
It was then that Gu Haosung also noticed his other two grandchildren. He pressed his lips together and gave them a sharp glare. And the sharp glare was enough for the two of them.
The only reason there was still peace around and no commotion at the party, inspite of Gu Haosung himself being present here was because no-one here knows he was Gu Haosung.
Though everyone present here were all the big shots and extremely successful in their businesses and industrys, they were mostly all the new generation or some the older generation. But none of them were from Gu Haosung’s generation.
And another reason was, Gu Haosung had not made an public appearance for more than twenty years now. He was now retired and liked to peacefully spend his time with his friends and family without wanting much attention on him.
After sometime both of them finished their dinner. And they stood up from the table. And the sly old man has already successfully acquired Ning Mei’s phone number. Ning Mei too did not seem to have any problem with it. She found him quite fun anyway.
After they stood up, she was about to excuse herself from him and go serch for Gu Liya and Gu Yehan, when her eyes fell on someone familiar.
It was Ning Yiyi. She was here with a middle aged man. The man had his hand on her waist just above her hip stroking her, which she did not rebel but instead smiled at him.
Ning Mei knew that Ning Yiyi was not invited to the party by Gu Liya. When they were getting ready in the hotel room, Gu Liya said that she made sure to cut off Ning Yiyi’s name from the list of invitees. It did not matter even if she was some celebrity or a model for a season. They don’t go inviting every worthless model to this party, she said .
