Chapter 258: DON’T CRY

When Ning Jiming stopped the car in front of the Ning Mansion, a strong wave of nostalgia and home sickness hit her. She had not felt this even for once since she had stepped foot into the country.

But now standing in front of the house, that she always called her home, Ning Mei felt her heart soften emotionally. Her eyes pricked, her nose burned, and her throat hurt.

Swallowing the hurtful lump on her throat, she sniffed and complained childishly, " Gege, see! My body and heart is cheating me! It is making me cry..."

Ning Jiming turned to look at his sister. The rim of her eyes were red and teary, the tip of her nose and cheeks were pinkish and her face looked as if she will cry any moment now. The only thing that is holding her is her mind that want’s to show the strong girl attitude.

He leaned towards the passenger seat, and side hugged his strong little sister, and said, " Welcome back home, Ning Mei. " And his had a tear fall off Ning Mei’s eyes. She was finally home after three years.

Ning Jiming walked in the main door, as he entered the hall, and Ning Mei followed him. They found everyone sitting on the couch. They were laughing about something, and gossiping. There was Ning Yiyi, Elder Ning, Jiang Lihui, Ning Yushen, Ning Yan and surprisingly Su Han, too. It seemed like a perfect happy family. Well, it was in the past. And that seemingly happy family included her and Ning Jiming too.

But currently, knowing the truth, she and Ning Jiming very well knew they are not invited here by many, except Elder Ning.

But then? So what if Ning Yiyi’s happy family did not consist them? They would not give up their precious lives because of her stupid power hunger. And who did she think she was messing with? Ning Mei was not the one to sweetly forgive avd forget what she has done. She would have to pay and pay heavily for her deeds.

The Ning family is in no need of snakes among them.

Elder Ning had been laughing on a joke that Su Han had cracked. He personally liked the chap. He was good natured, well behaved, responsibile, established, hard working and a good man. He was a good candidate for being a grandson in law.

Initially, Elder Ning had liked Su Han as a potential partner for Ning Mei, but then destiny had different plans. He fell in love with his other granddaughter, Ning Yan, and vice versa. And ofcourse, he could never force feelings on others. So he let it be. After all, every member in this family was his own.

He would just find a more better man for his Ning Mei.

Elder Ning turned his head towards the entrance when he heard the sound of the footsteps drawing closer and so did the others.

They saw Ning Jiming enter the house , followed by a young good looking man. He did not have to be told who he was. As he had been mentioned quite many times in the last few days in the mansion.

He was Ning Jiming’s saviour.

Ning Yiyi had a large smile on her face initially, but when she saw the two men entering the house, her smile faded. Especially when she saw the second guy. And why would it not? After all, this man was the reason why her plan failed so terribly. But then soon, not wanting to be seen suspicious, she regained her composure and maintained a polite smile.

Ning Yiyi thought noone saw her, but the change in her expressions did not go unnoticed by Ning Mei. And she could almost even make out what was going on her mind. She tsked in her head as she thought, ’ How sad it feels to be hosting the reason of your failure. ’

Then shifting her attention from Ning Yiyi, she saw the rest of her family members.

As expected, Ning Yan and Jiang Lihui did not have much expressions or excitement on their faces. As if, she or ’he’ had nothing to do with them. While on the other hand, Elder Ning seemed the most overjoyed to see her. He had a big smile on his face.

Ning Mei’s eyes briefly glanced as Su Han, who has a small, polite smile on his face. She was a bit surprised with his presence here. It seems Ning Yan and he had sorted up for good again. Well, but that was fast.

Not bothering with him more, she concentrated back on her grandpa, who came to them with wife open arms. Especially her. Seeing him after so long, her eyes began to burn again.

At this moment she was reminding her mind again and again, ’ Don’t cry! Don’t cry! Don’t cry! ’ She was chanting it in her heart like a mantra.

He came close to her and stretched his hand forward for a shake, which Ning Mei readily accepted. He then said in a jovial tone, " So you are the chap, who saved my only grandson? I always wanted to meet you, since I heard about you. "

Ning Mei nodded and responded with a smile, " It is my pleasure to meet you too, Sir. "

Elder Ning nodded his head with a wide smile and said, " Very well, very well, young man. "

He was in a visibly good mood.

" The dinner is almost ready, come sit with us. We have a lot to talk to you. " He said, as Elder Ning took Ning Mei to the couch. And Ning Jiming followed.

Elder Ning introduced him to all the family members one by one, and she greeted everyone. But when he introduced Ning Yiyi, Ning Mei pretended to be shocked as she widened her eyes and raised her eyebrow.

She as Muye, turned amazed and said," Ning Yiyi? Are you really...? "

Ning Yiyi understood that he just saw her and recognised her as the celebrity. Though, she may despise this man for ruining her plan, but his words did not fail to make her ego sore high.
