They were waiting for their order. Ning Mei ordered just one plate of spicy crabs and a plate of lobster. She looked at Gu Yeze who was a little white now, and was typing something in his phone seriously.
Ning Mei sighed thinking about how busy her husband is. But then he heart also bloomed with happiness thinking about the fact that, he still accompanied her here, instead of his busy schedule. And she was so thankful for that.
It was then that Ning Mei looked around and found half of the other people in the shop glancing at their direction. In the recent few months, since the time she changed her appearance, she had been getting quite some stares and attention. So she somewhat got used to it. And now, she probably would not even realise it, if her mind were somewhere else.
She very well knew, this was still just fluttering attention, that only exists because of outerly apperance. Most people would probably forget about her once they left from here. And this was not what she wanted. Ning Mei wanted the kind of attention, where she can last a long time impression on people. Where people give her attention for something more than just mere looks. For her work.
Ning Mei saw a cute little girlz who was sitting at the table beside her, who was staring at her with big dreamy eyes. The little girl would hardly be of five or six years, and was holding a spoon on her hand. She must be eating some rich dish, as a few grain of rice were stuck to her face.
Ning Mei always loved kids. They gave a pure, innocent and cheerful vibe, that is so difficult to find with adults. She smiled and waved at the little girl.
The girl’s face lit up as she saw the pretty big sister waving at her. She hurriedly moved her hand to wave back, but her spoon was the one that was waved, as she held it.
Ning Mei chuckled at the cuteness. And she said slowly, " You are so cute. " Her voice was a little louder than wishpering. As the kid was near her, she heard it, and a little pink colour spread olscross her face. They little girl pursed her lips blushingly and complimented back, " You are so pretty. "
The girl’s mother, who sat near her, saw her daughter conversing with the pretty lady next to her and smiled. She let them talk.
Ning Mei giggled, after getting complimented by a little girl. She looked at her husband and saw him engrossed in his phone. He had a plain but serious expression on his face. And a slight frown on his forehead. ’ Was he facing any issue or what? ’ Ning Mei thought to herself. Ning Mei knew her husband was very busy and had to deal with many things. She got mentally prepared to leave if he suddenly get some urgent work.
Ning Mei then again shifted her attention to the little girl, who now was staring at Gu Yeze, who sat on the opposite side of the small table. Sensing, Ning Mei look at her, the little girl turned back at her and asked in a soft voice, " Is this big brother your boyfriend? "
Ning Mei shook her head and then said to the girl, " He is my husband. " The girl widened her in wonderment and said with a shy smile, " Pretty sister, your husband is so handsome. "
Ning Mei giggled, and she agreed with a nod, " Right. He is so handsome. "
The little girl’s mother was also surprised to hear that this couple were married. They looked rather young. Especially the girl. Yet, they were a beautiful couple. Though, Ning Mei was speaking softly, the lady heard her as the mother and the daughter duo were sitting near them. After her daughter was done talking to the Ning Mei, her eyes met with her and she politely nodded at her with a smile, which Ning Mei returned.
Ning Mei then realised that there was more than just mere attention they were receiving. Especially her husband. Many young women in the shop, also some outside, who deliberately passed the door and the windows multiple times ogling and giggling among themselves as were stared at her husband.
She looked at the man opposite her and pursed her lips in disapproval. This man was being completely oblivious to the attention he was catching due to his looks. She had made him remove his extra formals so that he looked dauting and a little more commoner like. But now it seems, it is impossible for him to be less eye striking with that face and aura of his.
Ning Mei loved her husband. She also loved his looks. And she also liked showing off her DIAMOND of a husband to others. But what she hated was this girls ogling at her husband shamelessly. ’Oh come on, are you blind? Can’t you see he is with his beautiful partner here? Did your eyes turn into balls! ’ Ning Mei huffed and puffed in her mind.
Soon their order arrived. Gu Yeze was typing something in his phone. And when he looked at the food that arrived, he turned off his phone and looked at his wife. He found her looking at some direction, with a big unhappy pit on her forehead. And when he was about to turn to look at where she was seeing, Ning Mei held hid hand and caught his attention.
" Is there any issue with work, hubby? You looked a bit stressed a while ago. " Ning Mei asked sweetly.
Gu Yeze shook his head with a smile and rubbed her hand with his thumb. He said, " No. Just some regular work matter. What did you order? "
Gu Yeze looked at the crab and lobster dishes. And he paused for a moment as if thinking something. " What happened again?" Ning Mei asked.
Gu Yeze smiled and said, " Nothing at all. Come, let me help with the shell. "
And the couple started with the lobster, Gu Yeze peeled the sheel first and was about to pass the meat to Ning Mei, when she said coyly, " Hubby, please feed me~ "
Gu Yeze looked surprised when he heard it. It was not as if he had issue with feeding her. Infact, he was more than happy to do it. And was ready to feed her the whole day. But what stuck him was her sudden coy voice. Nevertheless, he chuckled and fed her the meat with his hand.
