Ning Mei looked around, and the more she saw the more her mouth watered. Steamed soft stuffed buns, dumplings, soup dumplings, lamb kababs, jianbings ( fried pancakes), mantou, dry noddles, egg waffle, flatbread, scallions pancake, spicy fried crabs, lobsters, chicken dishes. There were even deserts like soy milk pudding, fried mantou with condensed milk, raspberry cake, egg tart, cookies, and so much other.
Ning Mei looked around with sparkling eyes. Her mouth continued to water and she swallowed then every now and then.
Gu Yeze looked at his little glutton wife, who was by his side and chuckled. " Swallowing your own saliva, won’t satiate your carvings, nor your hunger. There are a lot of food. Tell me, what do you want to want to eat. "
Ning Mei tsked and said, before swallowing again, " Exactly the reason! There are so much food, that I don’t even know where to start from! My my ... I am so confused! "
Gu Yeze laughed and then heard her murmur in confusion, " Should I eat fried crabs first, or, lamb kababs, the shrimp noddles and lamb fried rice also looks good, no... that sounds more like main course. Dumplings are also so tempting. But then, I have to eat desserts too... Oh My God! So much pressure! "
" Why do you start with something light first? " Gu Yeze adviced. Ning Mei looked at him, and then her eyes widened as if coming to realisation. She hurriedly held his face, then tiptoed and kissed his nose, saying , " Oh my! Hubby! You are such a genius!! Come let’s go! "
Saying this, Ning Mei hurried to some stall. Gu Yeze smiled and followed her.
She first went to a stall selling meat filled steamed buns. The buns were soft and chewy. The meat stuffing inside was really delicious and juicy and spicy.
Ning Mei turned towards Gu Yeze and streched her hand for him to eat, " Here, hubby. Taste it! These buns are so delicious ! "
Gu Yeze was taken aback and he surprisingly looked at Ning Mei and stupidly asked, " Huh? Me? "
Though he had readily agreed to accompany his wife to the carnival without a second thought, and was also readyto buy the whole carvinal if she wanted to. But he never expected himself to eat anything here.
Accustomed to the rules, ways, and environment he had grown up in, where he was not brought to this places from his childhood, he felt an unusual hesitation to eat it. As if, it was out of line for him to eat it.
And if he needed to be very honest, he indeed doubted about the hygiene of the food here. In reality, Gu Yeze was indeed in a way a picky eater. He had top chefs employed in his mansion, to get the food that matched his taste buds and expections.
So eating anything here, did not really go well with him.
Gu Yeze’s first instinct was to deny it from Ning Mei stretched the food in front of his lips. But the other second, as he looked at her bright eyes, expecting him to have a bite. Gu Yeze could not find himself denying anything.
Gu Yeze sighed and decided to go with the flow and have it. Anything for his wife. Even if he gets diarrhea for the next three days. Afterall, how bad the food possibly could be.
Ning Mei smilingly held the bun near his lips for a good few seconds. But then seeing him not move from his spot, she furrowed her eyebrows a little and asked, " What happen? You don’t like it? It’s ok. You don’t need to force yourself. " She was about to draw back her hand when she was Gu Yeze lean forward, saying, " It’s nothing. "
Seeing him want to eat, Ning Mei smiled and stretched her hsbd to him again. Gu Yeze took a quick sniff, before taking a bite. Honestly, it did not smell bad.
After chewing a couple of times, Gu Yeze’s eyes slightly widened. The meat flavours burst in his mouth, with slightly sweet, spicy and tangy sensations. The combination with the soft, chewy texture of the buns went so good with the meat.
It was so delicious and completly out of his expectations. Now, Gu Yeze understood the hype of the Street food, that he always did not understand. They taste so good.
Seeing her husband’s expression of genuinely liking the food, Ning Mei asked, " Aren’t they good? " Gu Yeze nodded his head and answered, " They are. "
She forwarded the plate of buns she was holding towards him, and he took one for himself.
After that, the couple went to the stall selling soup dumplings. After eating a small portion there, both of them went for the dry noddles, followed by the kabab corner.
Gu Yeze at first did hesitate for a couple of food, but then after tasting them, he had a 180 degree change of his mind. At first, he decided to eat for Ning Mei’s sake, but now he felt that, even if he gets diarrhea after eating these food, it is worth it.
And both of them, now enthusiastically soughthed out the food stalls and tried ye dishes there. And were eating to their heart’s content.
The couple thought that they simply enjoying themselves, without actually taking into notice that, at this point of time, they have actually become the centre of attention for half of the carnival.
Since, the time they came here, the pair made almost all the heads turn towards them, demanding attention.
Humans were naturally attracted to beautiful things. And when there is a handsome couple, who obviously looked rich, how could they not gain attention.
But this couple did not realise it, untill they were in a seated in a shop, selling spiced crabs and lobsters.
They were waiting for their order. Ning Mei ordered just one plate of spicy crabs and a plate of lobster. She looked at Gu Yeze who was a little white now, and was typing something in his phone seriously.
Ning Mei sighed thinking about how busy her husband is. But then he heart also bloomed with happiness thinking about the fact that, he still accompanied her here, instead of his busy schedule. And she was so thankful for that.
