Chapter 150: PROMISES

Now everyone were sitted accross each other in pin drop silence, with the table full of delicacies brought by Gu Yeze and a glass of wine in everyone’s hands. And oh god. It was more than awkward to handle.

On one hand, Yu Lian and Li Chen’s throat was dying due to nervousness, on the other hand Feng Ye still sat there upset like a little kid. And on the third hand, Ning Mei just stared from one face to another not knowing what to say. And on the fourth hand, Gu Yeze sat there, completely unbothered from the world around him.

Finally, Ning Mei broke the silence and said, " So, did I not say that I have got an amazing husband? Isn’t he the best?!"

On hearing her, Gu Yeze turned to look at her. A slight smile forming on his face. His wife had complimented him afterall.

Yu Lian and Li Chen smiled in acceptance. Well, Yu Lian’s body have chills thinking of what she used to think of Gu Yeze. She still vividly remember, how she has told Ning Mei that though Gu Yeze was very very rich, she wouldn’t want her to marry him, because he looked worse than an ass. Damn those rumours! Did she not just get slapped on fee face. She could just pray now that Ning Mei had not said that to him, orelse if the great lord Gu Yeze get angry on her, her existence would be in danger.

Then, all of a sudden Feng Ye said in a childishly upset voice, "So now you are my sister- in- law huh?"

Ning Mei’s eyes brightened and she said, "Yep. That’s right! I am your sister in law, now! Little kid, you must obey me now!"

Feng Ye still felt so uneasy and unaccustomed to it and complained, " But how???" He still refused to belive.

It was then that Gu Yeze opened his mouth and says, " Is it not obvious how?"

Feng Ye’s throat dried when facing his elder brother. This Gu Yeze is always so scary. How could Ning Mei marry him out of all men in the entire universe?!

Feng Ye looked away and said in a meek voice, " Brother Yeze... You can not scare me anymore like this. Now, you have to talk to me sweetly. I know your secret now. If you scare me again, I will leak your secret at home." Feng Ye tried to blackmail him.

Gu Yeze took another sip from his wine and said, "Do as if your wish. I have got no issue. "

Feng Ye just went dumbfoldedly in hearing this. Come on, that’s your secret. Respect it a little.

Then Ning Mei said, "Feng Ye, do not do this please. I cannot afford to leak the news of my marriage outside."

Feng Ye narrowed his eyes wondering what kind of new drama does she want to create and he said, " What is the problem if the family member knows about it?"

Ning Mei pressed her lips, then sighed and said , "Of the family members know of this, then the servants will also know. And if the servants know about this, that means extra people are getting to know about it. And that I do not want. Also, right now, I am family less. I mean I do have a family, but for the world, I, Ning Mei, I am a blackened name.

My reputation is worse that worse. Do you think the Gu’s would accept me like this?"

Feng Ye, Yu Lian and Li Chen dumbfoldedly blinked their eyes. Though her words seemed baseless, but it still made sense.

"Gu family is not stupid like other families. " Gu Yeze suddenly said.

Ning Mei also knew her words sounded a little logic less, so she just whined, "No... I want to enjoy my secret marriage for a while! Please! "

After a while, Ning Mei bid goodbye to her friends who left taking some of the stuffs that Gu Yeze brought for them as gifts. After closing the door, Ning Mei saw that Gu Yeze was still attending some call and he was in the balcony. So she decided to clear out the tables.

After everything was done, Ning Mei had freshened up and saw that Gu Yeze coming back after attending his calls. She went to him and hugged him. "Baby... Are you done with your phone calls?"

Gu Yeze looked at the clinging beauty and put his phone on the table and said, "Yes, it is done."

Ning Mei snuggled in his arms and said, " Thank you for meeting my friends. And also for... those gifts. "

Gu Yeze rubbed her head and said, "I was just trying to be a good husband."

Ning Mei hugged him tighter and looked into his eyes. " You are such a good husband. I thought for once that you will be a little difficult to get with."

" I can only be a good husband to you because I have no plans of ever getting rid of this marriage or ever being a divorcee. All we can do is make it work." He said.

Ning Mei reached out to his cheeks and kissed it. Then she said, " I know, we got married so absurdly. I also do not know your reasons for marrying me. But trust me when I say that I will try my best to be a very good wife to you. And I will love you forever. So much that you will have no option but reciprocate all of my love back."

Gu Yeze smiled and said, " I would look forward to the day. "

Their faces were inches apart, and they could inhale each other’s breath. The tension between them rose higher with every passing second and their hands started traveling across each other’s bodies.

No sooner, their lips locked and both of them engaged themselves in a heated fiery kiss.
