Chapter 3045: Brawl
Chapter 3045: Brawl
Date: Unspecified
Time: Unspecified
Location: Myriad Realms, Card World, Five Regions, Southern Region, Blossom District, Sky Blossom City
Leaving the Field Marshal and the others behind, I headed straight to check on Veerott and Jaya’s progress. The Hive Spirit had already kept me updated, but that wasn’t enough. I wanted to see it with my own eyes. Because the opponent they would soon face wasn’t someone they could afford to underestimate. We were facing a genuine Ruler-class Faith user.
Given the choice, I would rather fight the Snow Elven Crown Prince and the entire Coalition of Frost all over again than face Maestro Matteo and whoever he intended to bring with him. The Crown Prince’s strength was terrifying. Maestro Matteo, however, was far more dangerous.
Peyote’s Sandalphon could temporarily neutralize Konjore Faith, effectively severing its target’s control over faith. Against someone like Konjore, a semi-ruler class, that ability had been devastating. But Maestro Matteo was an entirely different beast. He was a seasoned Ruler-class expert whose mastery over Faith had been tempered through countless battles and centuries of experience.
His reserves of Faith dwarfed Konjore’s to such an extent that comparing the two was almost insulting. Even if Sandalphon managed to suppress his Faith for a brief moment, it wouldn’t matter against someone of Maestro Matteo’s caliber. A veteran like him possessed too many ways to adapt, recover, and overwhelm his opponent.
By the standards of the Card World, he was a walking natural disaster. If he truly fought without restraint, he possessed enough power and faith to reduce the entire world to a heap of rock floating in void with nothing more than the snap of his fingers.
Viltronians were undeniably powerful, especially with their innate Rule Immunity. But Faith was dangerous. It was mysterious and miraculous. Even now, I couldn’t claim to fully understand its limits.
More importantly, Veerott and Jaya weren’t true Ruler-class beings. They were merely standing at the threshold making use of various means. If they failed to meet my expectations, I wouldn’t hesitate to bench them. After all, they were only one of several contingencies I had prepared to deal with Maestro Matteo.
I arrived above the skies of Sky Blossom city, finding Aqualas’s Ocean World Domain, I slipped into it.
Its seemingly boundless expanse of water made it the perfect training ground, allowing everyone to unleash their full strength without worrying about collateral damage.
What greeted me inside, however, wasn’t what I had expected. Instead of finding the three Viltronians jointly tempering their Rule Immunity against Faith, I found three separate training sessions.
Jaya, Aurelia, and Corey were each in their respective fusion forms, locked in a chaotic free-for-all, their clashes shaking the endless oceanic world with every exchange.
Not far away, Veerott sparred against Redfall, repeatedly testing the limits of his Rule Immunity under Redfall’s guidance.
Meanwhile, Peyote sat cross-legged nearby, completely absorbed in his own training.
Around him, an illusion of Semi-Ruler-class Viltronian materialized, repeatedly subjected to Faith-based attacks from Redfall’s clone as he increased his illusions rule immunity to Faith Rule while polishing his understanding of how Rule Immunity interacted with the Faith Rule.
Rather than training the illusions’ bodies, He was training his comprehension so that he could create a better illusion of Semi-ruler class Viltronian against Maestro since using Sandalphon against him was no better than singing a song he didn’t like. Apart from making him uncomfortable , it wouldn’t do much to him.
"Yo, Wyatt!" Aqualas called out, taking her eyes off Veerott’s training the moment she sensed my arrival. I acknowledged her with a nod before turning my gaze toward the ongoing brawl.
"Why did you let that one in?" I asked, my eyes fixed on Corey.
"I didn’t," Aqualas grumbled. "That pet snake of hers barged into my domain without so much as asking for permission and dragged Corey in with it. There wasn’t a thing I could do to stop them."
She still sounded mildly offended. Lil’ Baem had entered her Ocean World Domain as if it were its own backyard, completely subverting common sense regarding rule domains and ignoring the authority of a Supreme Being.
"Good job showing restraint," I praised her.
For a Royal among the Supreme Beings, not retaliating against such blatant disrespect required remarkable self-control. Had she exploded in anger, I honestly wouldn’t have blamed her.
Corey had a unique talent for testing everyone’s patience.
"So, what’s this fight about?" I asked.
"Corey wanted to test them after hearing about what they accomplished in the Western Region and that Jaya would be accompanying you on your next mission to the Dark Realm," Aqualas explained.
A faint smirk tugged at her lips as she paused before looking back at the battlefield. "She keeps insisting she isn’t jealous but it certainly smells like jealousy. Still, she’s far stronger than the other two combined."
"That damned snake’s Vapor Venom is absurd." Aqualas remarked as her gaze shifted toward the faint, almost invisible mist spreading across the battlefield. There was a hint of admiration in her voice despite herself. "It neutralizes almost everything Jaya and Aurelia throw at Corey without harming my domain as if it has a will of its own. Whether it’s energy attacks, Rule manifestations, or even environmental effects, the venom keeps dissolving before they can accomplish anything."
Aqualas had clearly spent considerable time studying Lil’ Baem’s abilities. The Vapor Venom wasn’t merely poisonous. It was a terrifyingly versatile power, one that seemed to possess an answer to nearly every conventional attack.
"Unless you comprehend a Water Rule meaning whose essence traces back to Primordial Energy, you’d be better off thinking of ways to avoid the Vapor Venom," I said as I offered Aqualas a piece of guidance. "It’s one of that snake’s innate primordial abilities. Conventional means are practically useless against it."
Aqualas fell into deep thought, instinctively replaying every encounter she had witnessed between Lil’ Baem’s Vapor Venom and its victims. Ignoring her contemplative silence, I made my way toward the trio who were supposed to be training. Instead, they had turned the training ground into a full-blown brawl.
