Chapter 3014: Mirror Devil Uno
Chapter 3014: Mirror Devil Uno
Date: Unspecified
Time: Unspecified
Location: Myriad Realms, Void, Hundred Frost Domain, Frost Maze
A roaring torrent of crimson, high-tier rule-fire erupted from his position, tearing down the corridor to incinerate the plague. But a terrifyingly familiar scene played out instead. The moment the blast made contact, the red mist aggressively swallowed the crimson inferno, effortlessly digesting the raw rule power just as it had with the phantom flames.
The four-eyed devil simply couldn’t believe—or perhaps refused to accept—that a plague could devour absolutely everything they threw at it. Driven by mounting panic, he began to assault the mist with everything he had in his arsenal. He tried to burn it, freeze it, use resonance to negate it, and construct spatial barriers to contain it.
Nothing worked. The plague would just eat its way out of every cage, growing larger and more ravenous in the process. He even resorted to utilizing time rule power—frantically attempting to accelerate the plagues life cycle, slow its breeding, or pause its progression entirely—but the red mist remained completely unaffected by time rule, as if it existed outside the boundaries of his temporal manipulation.
"It’s not stopping! It’s not fucking stopping!" he roared, his four eyes wide with manic frustration.
Losing their patience, the other mercenary devils roared in unison and bypassed the mist entirely, launching a coordinated, lethal barrage directly at the origin of the plague—the masked curse master.
But the crimson fog moved as if it possessed a protective mind of its own. The moment their lethal spells and rule-infused strikes flew toward me, the red mist surged, weaving together into a dense, swirling vortex that completely shielded its creator. Every blade of energy, every destructive spell, and every physical strike they threw at me was instantly intercepted, broken down, and converted into raw fuel to accelerate the plague’s spread.
"Stop it! You are only accelerating its" the jack-fruit skinned devil ordered sternly. "Let us retreat for now. Uno take us out of here!"
With his sudden order, the mercenary devil with mirror-like scales stepped forward and pressed his palms against the freezing ice. A ripple passed through the landscape, and the entire mercenary team instantly sank into the surface. To be more accurate, they had stepped directly into the reflection on the surface of the ice walls.
The five devils sigh in relief believing they had successfully escaped my plague by fleeing into a mirrored sub-dimension. But their dismay was instantaneous.
Inside the reflection, the Insatiable Jar in the robed devil’s hand began to convulsively shudder. The lid blew open, and the relic began violently spitting out a concentrated stream of red mist, which immediately aggressive-spread and infected the robed devil’s hands.
"Uno!" the jackfruit-skinned barked.
Uno, the Mirror Devil, reacted with terrifying speed. A jagged mirror materialized out of nowhere like the blade of a guillotine, cleanly severing the robed devil’s hands at the wrists. The mirror blade then shifted, behaving like a movable boundary of the reflective dimension. It shoved the severed hands, the jar relic, and the leaking red mist completely out of the reflection, sending them tumbling back into the material corridor.
"No!" the robed devil cried out in sheer desperation.
His chopped-off hands grew back in a flash of dark energy, but his physical recovery did nothing to soothe his agony. His sorrow was absolute—his priceless family heirloom, passed down through his lineage for millennia, had just been lost.
"Let me out! let me out!" He lunged forward, banging frantically on the reflective barrier from the inside, staring out at the jar resting on the ice floor of the corridor.
Then, right before his eyes, the final blow landed. The Insatiable Jar suddenly trembled, lifted into the air, and flew straight into the waiting hand of the masked curse master.
Seeing his treasure claimed so easily, the robed devil went entirely feral. He screamed against the mirror, his face distorted with rage: "You! I will kill you! I will kill you and take the insatiable jar from your corpse!"
I looked back at the frantic devils trapped behind the reflective surface of the ice wall. Even though I couldn’t hear his voice from outside of the reflective dimension, it wasn’t hard to guess the gist of his desperate shouting.
These high-and-mighty mercenaries were completely helpless against my innate calamity. And the terrifying part—for them, at least—was that the red mist was currently only being powered by my pure curse energy reserves I had prepared to fight the Konjur’s master. They would have already been reduced to nothing but ash and memories if I had chosen to fuel the plague with my primordial energy instead.
Even though I was finally out of the Dark Realm’s celestial will’s surveillance out here in the void, I still actively held back from summoning primordial energy from the origin source.
The reason was the Crown Prince.
Sitting safely inside the Heathen Stone prison, Thalorien was watching my every single move through the eyes of his clones, meticulously analyzing my combat style and documenting the exact limits of my prowess. I had already revealed to many of my secrets, I couldn’t afford to expose the primordial energy until I was absolutely certain I could kill every single witness on the field.
But the problem was that the Crown Prince had no intention of leaving the absolute safety of his Heathen Stone prison, let alone leaving the Dark Realm ever even if it was to kill a problematic enemy, and without making use of that primordial energy, I couldn’t defeat him head-on in dark realm. So, faced with a massive, dangerous loose end like that, I still had to rein my power down, playing a high-stakes battle with my hands still partially tied behind my back. I was no stranger to fighting like that.
I held the Insatiable Jar in my palm, watching in sheer fascination as its structure began to violently warp. My innate calamity didn’t just corrupt the relic—it entirely swallowed its residual will and replaced it with a new will tied directly to my own soul.
