After I Fully Prepared for the Apocalypse, the Ungrateful Cried with Regret

Chapter 520: Tired of Waiting

Chapter 520: Chapter 520: Tired of Waiting

To think Justin Stone had managed to escape and make it here so stealthily in his condition.

Even she had to admit, she was a little impressed.

"This is all thanks to the Holy Water you gave me, Captain Jacobs."

It turned out that while Chloe Ainsworth had snatched the Holy Water from him, she had no idea he had swapped out three of the bottles for fakes.

He had also stored another three bottles in his personal space.

Just a moment ago, when Chloe Ainsworth had gotten out of the vehicle, he had taken the opportunity to pull a bottle from his space and drink it down.

He had to admit, the Holy Water’s effects were truly miraculous. It could neutralize any poison.

"So, you ran here hoping I would save you?"

Nina Jacobs asked.

Justin Stone nodded eagerly. "I’m not hoping, I’m begging you to save me. Name your price—any condition."

Right now, Nina Jacobs was the only one he could rely on.

The command headquarters wanted to take him back for judgment, and the organization behind Chloe Ainsworth would make him wish for death.

No matter whose hands he fell into, he would be devoured whole, with nothing left.

Only Nina Jacobs had the power to save him now.

"My price?

I want two-thirds of the supplies in your personal space."

Nina Jacobs said after a moment of thought.

"How could you know..."

Justin Stone’s eyes filled with shock. ’How could she know I have a personal space?!’

Nina Jacobs smiled faintly.

"A guess. You were so desperate for the Holy Water, Mr. Stone. I figured it was to use when you made your escape, wasn’t it?

After all, no matter how useful a Space Superpower User is, they can’t compare to having your own personal space, can they?"

"You..."

’So Nina Jacobs knew from the very beginning.’

Justin Stone faltered, but he knew this was no time to hesitate.

"Half. Let’s split the supplies in my space fifty-fifty. How about that?"

"Don’t try to trick me, Mr. Stone. Your space is filled with all the supplies from the Qorbin Granary. I’m only taking two-thirds."

Nina Jacobs shook her head, holding up two fingers.

’Just’ two-thirds.

Justin Stone was both shocked and furious.

He was shocked that Nina Jacobs knew he had taken the supplies from the Qorbin Granary.

And he was furious at her shamelessness. He had spent so much effort gathering those supplies, and she had the gall to say she’d ’only’ take two-thirds?

"If you don’t agree, Mr. Stone, you’re free to leave."

’I’m already being merciful,’ Nina Jacobs thought. ’I’m leaving him a third of it.’

Justin Stone looked at the life-or-death battle raging ahead, considered his own desperate situation, and finally gritted his teeth.

"Fine! Two-thirds for two-thirds! I’ll give them to you!"

’As long as I survive, it’s a worthy price to pay.’

Nia nudged Nina Jacobs and whispered, "Do you think he’s trying to trick you? He agreed way too easily."

After all, the supplies are in his personal space. What if Nina Jacobs goes through all the trouble of saving him, only for him to go back on his word?

But Nina Jacobs looked completely unconcerned.

"You’re right. What ever would I do if Mr. Stone tried to trick me?

I’ve heard, though, that if you turn a Space Superpower User into a zombie, they’ll eventually spit out everything they’ve stored."

Justin Stone’s heart leaped into his throat. He quickly forced a laugh and said,

"Why would I do that? I know what you’re capable of, Captain Jacobs. I would absolutely never trick you."

Nina Jacobs just smiled faintly without a word.

A moment later, she had Wayne Warner start the vehicle. "Looks like things are wrapping up ahead. Let’s go."

The people from command headquarters were engaged in a true firefight, their skills a match for their opponents.

But Zoey Rhodes’s group kept using dirty tricks, cycling through various weapons and poisons that were impossible to defend against.

"That’s my Qiankun Tracking Bomb! Damn it, that’s supposed to be used on zombies."

Nia lost her composure when she saw one of the organization’s members pull out a gold-plated gun.

Once fired, a Qiankun Tracking Bomb automatically tracks the head of a targeted zombie.

Her original intention when inventing it was to allow even survivors with poor marksmanship to save their own lives with the weapon.

She never thought it would be turned on people as a weapon of assassination.

Sure enough, as soon as the bullet was fired from the gold-plated gun, it shot straight for Ignatius Spencer’s head!

Luckily, Ignatius Spencer reacted fast, turning his palm to metal and blocking the bullet.

But several more bullets were already flying his way.

William Miller was looking smug as he held the Qiankun Tracking Gun.

"This was invented by one of the organization’s geniuses. As long as we have enough ammo, we can wear down his Superpower completely."

"Heads up, that vehicle is here."

someone said.

The armored vehicle was driving toward them.

"You’re asking to die."

The Thunder Element Superpower User, Holly Holt, condensed two Thunder Serpents that slithered across the ground. Chloe Ainsworth wanted to stop her, remembering Justin Stone’s warning that this Nina Jacobs was not someone to be provoked.

But it was already too late.

A massive flash of lightning erupted from beneath the armored vehicle, swallowing the two Thunder Serpents.

The serpents looked pathetically weak in the face of the overwhelming electrical display.

In the next instant, a wave of lightning surged back in the opposite direction, engulfing Holly Holt’s entire body.

A scream had barely started before it was cut short. One moment Holly Holt was frozen in shock, the next she was a charred corpse.

"What a powerful Thunder Element Superpower!"

Zoey Rhodes and her people were instantly on high alert.

"Are you going to move, or not?"

Nina Jacobs asked as she stepped out of the vehicle.

They all exchanged glances.

"Didn’t you just say you wouldn’t interfere in our business, Miss Jacobs?"

Chloe Ainsworth said in a threatening tone.

"I got tired of waiting."

Nina Jacobs replied.

"It’s her..."

Ignatius Spencer and his men were now certain.

The voice that had helped them earlier belonged to the woman standing before them.

The voice from within the dense smoke hadn’t been loud—only their group had heard it—but the tone was identical.

But he didn’t comment, instead saying to his people, "Make way."

Once Ignatius Spencer gave the order, his people unhesitatingly cleared a path to one side.

Zoey Rhodes sneered.

"You killed one of our people and think you can just walk away?

Chloe Ainsworth, she’s all yours."

"Alright."

Chloe Ainsworth hesitated but still called over a few other Superpower Users to surround Nina Jacobs.

"I’ve heard so much about your incredible Superpowers, Miss Jacobs. Allow me to witness them for myself today!"

Several vines shot rapidly toward Nina Jacobs.

The other Superpower Users unleashed their own attacks simultaneously.

Seeing this, Ignatius Spencer hesitated for only a second before deciding to go and support Nina Jacobs.

But before he could even make a move, four of the attackers had already been incinerated by Nina Jacobs’s Fire Element Superpower.

"I’d also like to see for myself who, exactly, can stand in my way."

As Nina Jacobs finished speaking, the four bodies had already turned to ash.

"I knew she was something else!"

Inside the vehicle, Justin Stone watched Nina Jacobs with a fervent gaze.

’Looks like I bet on the right horse.’

"We’re retreating!"

Chloe Ainsworth said to Zoey Rhodes, enduring the sharp pain in her calf.

She had been hesitant from the start, and now she was convinced this was not the right time for a confrontation.

As long as Nina Jacobs was alive, she would have another chance to find her.

"Go to hell!"

Just then, William Miller, wielding the Qiankun Tracking Gun, fired a bullet at Nina Jacobs without warning!

A bolt of lightning shot out from behind Nina Jacobs, intercepting the bullet in mid-air with incredible speed.

Everyone could see the bullet suspended in mid-air, wobbling as it sparked with blue lightning.

Suddenly, the bullet shot back in the opposite direction, heading straight for the crowd.

A violent, electric explosion followed. Ignatius Spencer quickly tried to summon a Metal Shield to block it, but it was too late.

Just then, a hemispherical sand shield materialized, firmly protecting them.

"Looks like you won’t be retreating today after all."

Nina Jacobs said to Chloe Ainsworth, who was now covered in blood from the blast.
