Instead of assessing which side had the upper hand, Nina Jacobs tried to focus her attention on the car behind Zoey Rhodes.
Just as she expected, Justin Stone’s voice came from inside.
His tone, however, was one of unrestrained fury.
"...I can’t believe even you would betray me."
Justin Stone slumped weakly against the back of the car’s interior. His eyes were bloodshot, and his head was splitting.
This had to be a side effect of the drug.
He had no strength at all. Despite having a Water Element Superpower, he couldn’t conjure a single drop of water.
Chloe Ainsworth gave an indifferent smile and said,
"You should be grateful. If it weren’t for me, you never would have become the Base Commander.
The person who was supposed to be elected? I’m the one who secretly got rid of him for you."
Hearing Chloe Ainsworth’s words, Justin Stone wanted nothing more than to slap himself twice.
’Why did I never wonder how Chloe Ainsworth could be so capable?’
He’d always thought she was just leveraging his influence to get things done so perfectly.

Just as the sharp blade was about to plunge into Ignatius Spencer’s eye socket, a nearly invisible sand shield materialized in front of him!
"Who is it?!"
Flowing Light Dagger glanced behind him, but he couldn’t see anything in the thick smoke.
He quickly activated his Speed Element Superpower to escape the smoke, only to be pierced straight through the heart by a Diamond Sand Spike!
Ignatius Spencer and the others watched in astonishment.
Just then, the sound of shattering glass was heard, and a woman’s voice spoke from within the smoke, sounding as if she were right behind them:
"This is the antidote. Vaporize it with water to neutralize the poison."
Renee Hayes, the Water Element Superpower User, understood immediately.
"Captain Spencer, I can..."
Using her Water Element Superpower, she began to vaporize the liquid on the ground, which had frozen into a layer of ice. As Ignatius Spencer and his team took deep breaths of the frigid air, they could feel their bodies gradually recovering.
They even felt their Superpowers faintly returning.
And all this happened in a matter of moments.
A strong gust of wind dispersed the smoke, revealing a scene that was not the bloodbath they had expected.
Only two bodies lay stiff on the ground, along with another person—who was clearly Flowing Light Dagger!
Meanwhile, Ignatius Spencer and his group were glaring at them with furious eyes.

Nina Jacobs watched from her hiding spot as the two sides continued their fierce battle.
She had just thrown not only a vial of Healing Potion to the ground, but also a Superpower Recovery Potion.
