Chapter 2049: A Danger Zone II

Chapter 2049: A Danger Zone II

Three weeks went by in a flash.

The second clan the gray-haired beastman led Grey and the others to attack was called the Bolt Clan. During their journey, Grey found out the name of the gray-haired beastman’s clan was called Thunder Clan. Seeing how simple they named their clans, he could not help but feel it did fall in line with the simplicity in how Magical Beasts think.

The Bolt Clan was just as powerful as the Tempest Fang Clan. When the Thunder Clan attacked the Tempest Fang Clan three weeks ago, two of their top experts were not in peak condition due to receiving injuries during their fight with Grey, hence the reason Grey fell into danger. In the case of the Bolt Clan, they were easily handled, without the Thunder Clan suffering any serious casualties.

This lightning elemental treasure was something that could be shared and not like the lava pool of the Tempest Fang Clan.

The Thunder Clan acted in the same way as they did with the Tempest Fang Clan, after killing off their top experts, they allowed the rest to leave. Of course, they did not reject anyone if they wanted to stay and join them. The gray-haired beastman knew not to accept too many people though, since that would massively improve his clan’s strength, which would in turn disrupt the balance of power in their world. Even if he did not have any thoughts of ruling the world, the other clans would not sit by and watch. If something like that happened, the possibility of the others coming together to take them down was quite high.

A week after they handled the Bolt Clan, the gray-haired beastman took Grey and his friends in another direction, telling the rest of his clan members to wait for them in the predetermined location.

After they separated from the rest of the clan, the gray-haired beastman appeared very cautious, being less talkative and more observant. The closer they got to the place, the more they could sense the tension around the gray-haired beastman. It was evident that he felt quite traumatized by his last encounter with that place. Although Grey and the others did not feel it was reasonable for the gray-haired beastman to act with such cowardice, they did not dare to let their guards down. Anything that could make a Peak Sovereign this fearful is naturally not something that should be taken lightly. Besides, they have no idea how these Seelies would react once they find intruders.

The incident with Alice’s Seelie might have to do with it being alone and other coincidences.

Later that day.

The group arrived in front of a trench that seemed to stretch as far as the eyes could see. They could not see the ground of the trench, and the mists were so thick that it was almost impossible to see more than two meters ahead of them. One has to know that these were Sovereigns, every single one of them had eyesights that could accurately see a tiny ant on a blade of grass hundreds of meters away, yet this mist blocked even that sharp eyesight. They attempted to probe around with their mental senses, and even though it was a little better, it only gave them a range of about fifty meters, a far cry of what they were originally capable of.

The gray-haired beastman stood at the edge of the trench, unwilling to take another step, pointing ahead he said, "Just run straight in that direction, in five minutes or so you will reach the place. You’ll be able to sense the place once you get close."

Grey tossed a small crystal orb at the gray-haired beastman, "Here, I’ll be able to locate you as long as you have that with you and you do not go too far from this place."

The gray-haired beastman took the orb and nodded before keeping it in his sleeves and turning around before bolting off. He did not want to stay here any second longer.

"He really is in a hurry to leave, huh?" Klaus looked in the direction the gray-haired beastman flew in, a bit amused by his action.

"This place scares him, it’s normal for people to have fear towards places that almost took their lives, especially when they couldn’t notice it quickly." Reynolds remarked.

Alice took a glance at Grey and asked, "You should be able to track him with that even if he were in the end of this world, why did you lie about it?"

"There’s no harm in hiding this from him. Currently he only has the knowledge that I can’t sense the orb past a certain distance, which is a good thing for us in case he decides to do something foolish." Grey replied.

"He doesn’t look that dumb though." Alice shook her head before looking into the trench, "This place gives me the chills."

"You can feel it too?" Klaus asked, his eyes glowing.

"Yes, there is definitely a supreme ice elemental treasure hidden here." Alice replied, his eyes glowing with a brilliant flash of snow while light.

Klaus had the rare ability of sensing these impressive treasures of either the water or ice element, whereas Alice has a Seelie, a creature that is said to be born from extreme cold. Given either of them gets within a certain distance of some ice elemental treasures, they could sense it. Of course, Klaus was a little more overpowered in respect to this since for it, it was more like an innate ability, while Alice is only able to sense what the Seelie could.

Looking at the duo speaking, Grey said, "Since you can sense it, it’ll make our journey quicker."

Klaus and Alice nodded, their hearts pounding. Klaus was a little hopeful he could get a Seelie. Alice on the other hand just wanted to grow stronger due to the pressure of the ongoing war, she did not want to continue feeling useless.

Without hesitation, the group jumped into the trench, disappearing into it.
