Chapter 2036: Battle For The Core
Chapter 2036: Battle For The Core
Both groups endured the attacks of the beastpeople for well over fifteen minutes, facing relentless attacks.
Grey was not under much pressure compared to the rest of the people. Although he could not use his space element, he was still able to fairly move properly thanks to his years of use of the gravitational force field. One has to remember he trained on multiple occasions while mastering this technique. It also helps that his physique is unbelievably firm, which made most of the effects of the restriction limited on him. To be honest, if he wanted to kill one of these Peak Sovereigns with a sneak attack, they would not be able to react before his attack connects. Even if the Sovereign manages to survive the attack, they would end up seriously wounded and incapacitated.
Silvan also had enough strength to fight back against the Peak Sovereigns attacking them, he just focused on defending since it was the best course of action at this point.
Some time later, they soon arrived at the entrance of the underground cave. The Half God Magical Beast’s Core was located in this cave, and the closer the groups got to the cave, the more intense the beastpeople’s attacks became. There were also the hidden arrays that occasionally exploded out, making things difficult for the groups. Grey was still able to help his group navigate through the hidden arrays without setting off anyone. This on the other hand reduced their pace.
"Head in, everyone should ensure to prioritize their safety after getting in. As long as any of you gets the opportunity, please take the Core. But you must hand it over after we leave this place." Silvan instructed before rushing into the cave.
Grey was the last to enter the cave, making his face the brunt of the attacks of the beastpeople. As he was stepping in, Arthur’s group arrived, rushing in at the same time. They were here to fight for the Magical Beast’s Core, so even though they were delayed, they paid some price just to make sure they got here around the same time as Silvan’s group.
The group did not dally and rushed into the cave.
The beastpeople were irate as they saw the groups rushing underground. Their greatest treasure was located in the cave. This was the reason they had been attacking the groups all this while. They never would have expected that instead of stopping to fight, these strange people only focused on defending, even risking some injuries just to ensure they could enter the cave.
Inside the cave.
Silvan was the one in the lead, rushing deeper into the cave. Even from his current location, he could sense the aura of a powerful being. If he were not aware of the fact that there was a Magical Beast’s Core in here, he would have had the illusion that there was indeed a living Half God Plane being residing here.
Silvan was not the only one who could sense this aura, Grey and the others could as well.
Grey’s eyes flashed as he sensed the potent lightning essence coming from deep within the cave.
’A lightning Half God Plane Magical Beast’s Core.’ Grey felt his heart throbbing. If any Lightning Elementalist at the Peak of the Sovereign Plane were to have the chance to refine this core, there is a chance that they might be able to break through to the Half God Plane. Just the thought of this alone made Grey’s blood boil with excitement.
He was currently at the very peak of the Eighth Plane, if he could get a little bit of essence from this thing, he would be able to break through to the Ninth stage in a matter of a few hours. Once he achieves this, given his strength, Peak Sovereigns would no longer be a trouble for him.
Arthur looked deep in the cave with longing eyes. A glint flashed through his eyes as he bit the tip of his tongue.
Arthur’s aura, which was previously the same as Silvan’s, a Ninth stage Sovereign, suddenly soared, getting close to the Peak of the Sovereign Plane.
The moment this happened, Arthur’s figure blasted through the crowd in front of him as he dived deep into the cave.
Silvan never expected Arthur would do something like this, so he was taken by surprise. Before he could even act, Arthur had flown past him.
"Stop him!" Silvan ordered as his aura flared up too before he rushed after Arthur.
Grey did not make a move, not because he did not want to, but the beastpeople’s attack suddenly became even more ferocious as they were currently putting their lives on the line. These beastpeople could tell that if they did not go all out, then they would lose their precious treasure.
Grey was forced to stay back and assist his friends so as to ensure their safety. He might not be able to bring out his space element, but his physique still made him faster than most of these Peak Sovereign beastpeople.
Faced with four Peak Sovereigns when both Silvan and Arthur who could deal with one of them each were absent placed the rest of both groups in danger.
Arthur’s group was the last to enter the cave, so when the beastpeople went all out, they immediately fell into a perilous situation. Facing a clan of hundreds of people who were all Sovereigns, there was barely anything a group of ten or so Sovereigns below the Ninth stage of the Sovereign Plane could do. In a matter of twenty seconds, two people had lost their lives already to the onslaught of attacks from the beastpeople.
Gareth, realizing the danger, darted into the cave, running after Silvan and Arthur. At the moment, the deeper part of the cave was safer than this place.
After the two auras died out, the rest of the group realized just how dangerous their situation was. When they were still defending against the beastpeople with Silvan and Arthur’s assistance, they did not think their lives would ever fall into danger after such a short time.
Among the Seventh stage Sovereigns from Arthur’s group, one of them was currently facing an attack from a Ninth stage Sovereign beastman. No matter how talented an Elementalist was, the gulf between a Ninth stage Sovereign and a Seventh stage one was massive and seemingly unsurmountable.
