Chapter 453 - 226: Quests in the New City, Old Friend Goblin

Chapter 453: Chapter 226: Quests in the New City, Old Friend Goblin

In such a large Adventurer’s Association, quest acceptance and completion were divided into different zones according to Level.

Each zone had its own corresponding counter, and you had to go to the appropriate counter to accept quests of a specific Level.

Without a doubt, the largest area was the one for E Level Tasks.

The difficulty and tier of F Level Tasks were too low, generally taken by bottom-rung Adventurers. Those Adventurers tended to stay in smaller towns and wouldn’t come to a large city like this.

Adventurers capable of accepting and completing E Level Tasks, however, were the absolute majority within the Adventurer community.

The number of D Level Adventurers was also considerable. After all, in a major city like Fajade City, many Adventurers from smaller places would choose to come here to further their careers after making a name for themselves.

As a result, Lin Mo had to wait in line for some time before he finally managed to squeeze his way to the front of the D Level Task wall.

The quest list he had obtained yesterday not only noted the content and precautions for each task but even described where on the quest wall they were located. Thanks to this, Lin Mo quickly found the few quests he was interested in, grabbed their slips, and headed for the counter.

Lena had also come along to see how things worked. After all, she might be doubling as the squad’s Adventurer’s Assistant in the future, so there were things she needed to learn and understand in advance.

She trailed behind Lin Mo, her eyes filling with astonishment as she took in the spacious, magnificent hall and the counter, which was much larger than her previous workplace.

The staff member behind the counter noticed her expression. So, when Lin Mo’s group approached, she offered a small smile and asked, "Hello, are you Adventurers who are new to Fajade City?"

"Yes."

Lin Mo nodded.

"Alright. According to the Association’s regulations, I’ll need to register your arrival first. Please present your Adventurer’s Badges."

Lin Mo, Ali, and Feney handed over their badges.

As for Shefilya... she had never been an Adventurer, had no badge, and wasn’t an official member of the squad.

She was just staying with the team, helping them out for free.

"Mr. Lin Mo of the Silver Radiance Squad, correct?"

"That’s right."

"Alright, please wait a moment..."

The registration process was quick. In just a moment, the clerk at the counter smiled and returned their badges. "All set. You can now accept quests as usual."

Lin Mo handed over the two quest slips he was holding. The clerk took them and began to confirm and register the information.

"Quest Number D48238 and Quest Number D62938, is that right?"

"That’s right."

"Okay, please confirm the quest information and requirements..."

Lin Mo did as she asked and looked over the two quests he had chosen one more time.

[Slay the Petrifying Lizard]

Quest Number: D48238

Type: Extermination/Material Collection

Client: Adventurer’s Association

Reward: 700 Gold Coins

Quest Briefing:

Go to the Forest of Serenity, slay 3 Petrifying Lizards, and bring back their eyes and tongues.

Note: Petrifying Lizards are widely distributed in Zone 11 of the Forest of Serenity. Their Threat Level is approximately Level 4-5. However, be aware of the existence of Lord Level and higher individuals—Giant Petrifying Lizards—whose Threat Level can reach Level 6-10. Be extremely careful!

This was a very common extermination and material collection quest. The difficulty wasn’t high, and because it required killing three of them, the reward was quite generous at 700 Gold Coins.

As for the second quest...

[Goblin Hunt]

Quest Number: D62938

Type: Extermination

Client: Adventurer’s Association

Reward: Varies based on kill count

Quest Briefing:

Go to Zone 8 of the Forest of Serenity and kill at least 300 Ordinary Goblins, 50 Mutated Goblins (adults) or Goblin Guards, and 10 or more Bronze Level Goblins or Giant Goblins. The more you kill, the more you earn!

Note: The Goblin population in Zone 8 has recently shown a slight upward trend. Adventurers are encouraged to actively participate and help control their numbers.

’That’s right, it’s our old friends, the Goblins!’

These tenacious creatures, with their incredible reproductive abilities, could be found almost anywhere on the Continent. The Forest of Serenity was, naturally, no exception.

In fact, of the hundred-plus Demon zones in the Forest of Serenity, nearly ten were Goblin territory.

Each zone was home to a different Goblin Tribe. They developed independently of one another but would still make contact occasionally.

Judging by the quest description, Fajade City took the work of culling Goblins very seriously.

They even constantly monitored the Goblin population in every Goblin-controlled area. As soon as numbers started to rise, they would intensify their extermination efforts to prevent the Goblin Race from growing too powerful.

This undoubtedly required a significant investment of resources and was a key indicator of a Lord’s competence. Based on the current situation, the Lord of Fajade City was doing an excellent job in this regard.

According to the quest list obtained from the Lion Adventurer Group’s analysts, the [Goblin Hunt] quest was also known as one of the quests with the highest potential reward ceiling across all Levels.

This quest was divided into different Levels, ranging from the simplest F and E Levels to D and even C Level.

A C Level task, it seemed, generally required killing a Middle Lord Level Demon.

An example would be the mastermind behind the previous attack on Silver Stream City—the Silver Goblin.

In a place like Loran Forest, the appearance of a Silver Goblin was a major event. This was because the overall strength of the Demons in Loran Forest was relatively weak. Once a Lord Level entity like a Silver Goblin appeared, backed by the vast numbers of the Goblin horde, it could easily dominate the forest. It would constantly encroach on the territory of other Demons, plunder females, and continue to expand its power.

However, in the Forest of Serenity, a Silver Level Goblin was nothing special.

The Demons in the Forest of Serenity were far stronger, and they too had formed their own clan-like groups with distinct territories.

To these powerful Demons, a Silver Level Goblin was like a stray dog on the street—it posed no threat, much less could it dream of invading their territory. Even if an individual Goblin Tribe had a Quasi-Golden Level Goblin, it still couldn’t make any waves.

Only a true Gold Level Goblin, one that had reached the High Tier Lord Level—equivalent to an Extraordinary Level human expert—could potentially trigger a Goblin disaster.

’Lin Mo absolutely loved these kinds of Goblin extermination quests.’

’They were numerous, easy to find, satisfying to kill, and gave a ton of Skill Level and rewards...’

’It was like they were tailor-made for him!’

Lin Mo figured that in the future, the [Goblin Hunt] quest would likely become his go-to, daily-style quest.

’If I don’t know what quest to take, I’ll just take a [Goblin Hunt]. Short on money? Go after Goblins. Need more Skill Level? Go after Goblins...’

’Goblins were practically his "family"!’
