Chapter 410 - 214: Actually, I Like You
Chapter 410: Chapter 214: Actually, I Like You
If the Warrior and Mage Professions advanced at almost the same time, then logically, the possibility of obtaining a special Profession would be much greater.
So, it seemed Lin Mo had to shift his focus from leveling up his Mage Profession back to his Warrior Profession...
He even had to slightly control his Mage Profession’s Level, trying to keep the two as close as possible to achieve the goal of advancing them at the same time.
After all, the chance to change Professions only came with each major tier advancement.
If he missed this opportunity to advance from Veteran to Elite, the next one wouldn’t be until the advancement from Elite to Extraordinary.
And who knows when that would be...
With this in mind, Lin Mo immediately suppressed the Magic Power flowing through his body and decided against taking out the Magic Potion he had been about to use.
’I have to hold back. No more Magic.’
’I need to grind my Warrior Level.’
Lin Mo glanced at the notifications that had just flashed past.
[Frost Storm] Skill Level +29
"Skill [Frost Storm] Level 1 (20/20) has leveled up!"
"Current Skill: [Frost Storm] Level 2 (9/40)"
’Good... Epic Skills are powerful, and that blast killed at least two or three hundred Goblins, but the Skill Level gains have severe diminishing returns. That’s why the skill only reached Level 2. If it had hit Level 3 in one go, I would have gained another Magic Attribute point and my Profession Level would have shot straight to 10.’
’Advancing from Level 10 to Level 11 is what triggers the promotion to Elite, but I need to leave some room for error. It’s impossible for me to completely avoid using Magic in the upcoming battles. If my Magic Attribute got stacked up to, say, 106 or 108, and then some skill happened to level up... wouldn’t that completely ruin my plan?’
’As it is now, with a 12-point buffer of Basic Magic Power, my hands won’t be tied if I really need to use Magic later.’
After Lin Mo took out the Quasi-Silver Level Goblin commanding the Goblin Army, the horde before him clearly grew more chaotic.
The Goblins, whose morale was already shaky, lost their commander and became even more bewildered and directionless.
Although some mid-level Goblins were responsible for giving localized orders, they too fell into a panic after their leader was killed, unable to remain calm.
Combined with their already severe losses, the vast number of Goblins visibly devolved into a disorganized mob.
At this point, they no longer posed any threat to Roland Town. Many Goblins began to flee in disarray, shoving each other aside. Incidents of different Goblin groups crashing into and even trampling one another became frequent.
Meanwhile, on Roland Town’s side, the reinforcements that had just arrived from a neighboring city began to hunt down the routed enemy.
However, Roland Town’s original Guards had long since reached their limit. Once the Goblin offensive receded, the tension broke, and they completely lost the strength to move.
Lin Mo, of course, was part of the pursuit. He still had to grind the Skill Level of his Warrior Skills.
’If I want to raise my Attributes quickly, the natural way is to start with Low Grade Skills.’
’I don’t have to worry about diminishing returns on their Skill Level gain, and they level up fast. Although they don’t give many attribute points, that’s a problem that evolved skills can solve.’
Jump Slash!
Whip Kick!
Rapid Charge Fist!
With his current physical Attributes and Qi and Blood Strength, even the most Ordinary skills in Lin Mo’s hands had devastating effects. He charged into the piles of Goblins as if in Unrivaled mode, mowing them down like grass.
[Jump Slash] Skill Level +8
[Whip Kick] Skill Level +6
...
For a while, the Skill Level of these Ordinary and Excellent Level skills skyrocketed.
Before long, both [Jump Slash] and [Whip Kick] had been ground from Level 1 to Level 3.
"Skill [Jump Slash] Level 1 (10/10) has leveled up!"
"Skill [Jump Slash] Level 2 (20/20) has leveled up!"
...
"Current Skill: [Jump Slash] Level 3 (4/40)"
"Gained attribute point: Strength +1!"
"Skill [Whip Kick] Level 1 (10/10) has leveled up!"
"Skill [Whip Kick] Level 2 (20/20) has leveled up!"
...
"Current Skill: [Whip Kick] Level 3 (7/40)"
"Gained attribute points: Strength +2!"
’The attribute points aren’t much, but at least they’re increasing. I’ll just have to accumulate them bit by bit.’
Rapid Charge Fist!
[Rapid Charge Fist] Skill Level +11
Lin Mo threw a vicious punch, instantly blowing the Goblin before him into smithereens. The shattered limbs flew everywhere like shrapnel from a grenade, piercing through other Goblins they touched.
"Skill [Rapid Charge Fist] Level 3 (40/40) has leveled up!"
"Current Skill: [Rapid Charge Fist] Level 4 (3/100)"
The skill was supposed to be single-target, but with his terrifying Strength and Qi and Blood, Lin Mo had effectively weaponized the Goblin’s shattered corpse, giving the skill a small area-of-effect.
Lin Mo grew more excited as he fought, and his Skill Levels rose faster and faster. However, the Goblins had long since begun to rout. After grinding for a while longer, the number of Goblins before him dwindled.
After finishing off the dozen or so Goblins closest to him, Lin Mo looked at the ones that had already fled far into the distance and decided not to pursue them further.
Back in Roland Town, Landon had already met up with Flora. The two were chatting, and they didn’t look like they had just met.
"You’re finally back..."
Landon noticed Lin Mo and waved. "You chased them pretty far. Miss Flora has been waiting for you for a while."
