Adventure: My Skills Evolve Infinitely

Chapter 357 - 199: Banquet, Golden Egg (Part 3)

Chapter 357: Chapter 199: Banquet, Golden Egg (Part 3)

It was also the major city closest to the Royal City, one of the four great metropolises.

The two major cities were less than five hundred kilometers apart. This was partly because the area was well-suited for living, and partly because several adventuring zones, even larger than the Loran Forest, were located nearby.

The formation of adventuring zones was often inextricably linked to Magic Power. Therefore, in addition to housing many powerful Demons, these areas also boasted an abundance of resources.

The prospect of profit attracted more people, so the rise and fall of a city were often tied to its nearby adventuring zones. Many major cities with populations in the millions, or even tens of millions, had only managed to slowly develop and prosper because they were established near such zones.

Furthermore, compared to the complex web of factions within the Royal City, Fajade City was relatively more "straightforward," making it a better fit for Adventurers.

So, when the tipsy middle-aged man returned to the hallway, Lin Mo approached him. "Hello. Excuse me, are you the leader of the Lion Adventurer Group?"

The man paused for a moment, then roared with laughter and clapped Lin Mo on the shoulder. "I knew it! You think my hair and beard look the part, don’t you?"

"That’s how our Adventurer Group got its name in the first place."

He looked at Lin Mo with admiration. "Are you a local Adventurer?"

Lin Mo nodded.

"So young, yet so powerful..."

Although he couldn’t discern Lin Mo’s exact level of strength, it was easy to tell the strong from the weak. The kind of aura and confidence exuded by the powerful was something a person with no real strength would have a very hard time faking.

Not to mention, Lin Mo had arrived thinking the war wasn’t over yet, so he was dressed in a full set of equipment—completely armed and armored.

Just by looking at his expensive equipment, one could tell he was no run-of-the-mill character.

"So what are you doing spacing out here? Come on, come on, come have a drink with me!"

With that, he slung an arm around Lin Mo’s shoulder and started pulling him toward the banquet hall.

’This group leader sure gets friendly fast... That’s a good thing, though. I’m not very good at socializing, so his enthusiasm saves me the trouble of racking my brain to strike up a conversation.’

When they reached the banquet hall, the party seemed to have been going on for a while. The once neat and tidy hall was now in a state of utter chaos.

The tables were laden with all sorts of delicacies and fine wines, while attendants, butlers, and Maids bustled about, busy as could be.

Most of the Adventurers were holding mugs that looked like small wooden barrels, telling tall tales at the top of their lungs as they drank.

It was no different from a typical day at a tavern or the Adventurer’s Association.

’So this is what Adventurers are like...’

The familiar, lively atmosphere gradually lifted Lin Mo’s spirits. He asked a Maid for a matching "wooden barrel" mug, filled it to the brim with wine, and resumed his conversation with the leader of the Lion Adventurer Group.

Their conversation was simple, mostly covering basic information about the Adventurer Group and Fajade City, with Lin Mo asking about the adventuring zones in that area.

"Lin Mo, my friend, with all these questions, are you planning to head to Fajade City soon?"

Despite having drunk a fair amount, the group leader, whose name was Leonard, still maintained a relatively clear mind.

"I am, in fact, considering it."

Lin Mo nodded and said in a joking tone, "But I’ll be new to the area. When the time comes, I’ll have to count on a big brother like you to look out for me."

"A small matter!"

Leonard patted his chest. "Don’t worry! When you get there, just come find me at the Lion Adventurer Group. I’ll get you all sorted out!"

This wasn’t just because of the feast; it was more due to Lin Mo’s own impressive strength and talent. To put it bluntly, he was worth building a connection with.

He might have seemed like a boisterous oaf, but in reality, who could get this far by being a genuine fool?

As the two of them were chatting, a slender middle-aged man suddenly approached.

"Well now, Old Jin, you’ve made a new friend. How about an introduction?"

Compared to Leonard, this middle-aged man of a similar age was much more slender. He exuded a piercing aura, and his narrow eyes were as sharp as an Eagle’s.

’Considering how he just addressed Leonard, he must be the leader of the other Adventurer Group that came to help—the Falcon Adventurer Group.’

"Hello there, young man. I’m Grim, leader of the Falcon Adventurer Group."

Just as he’d thought. The man quickly offered his identity.

"Lin Mo," he replied. "Just an Ordinary Adventurer."

Lin Mo nodded and shook his hand.

"Oh? You don’t look very ’Ordinary’ to me..."

Grim smiled. "I believe I overheard you say you’re planning to come to Fajade City?"

"That’s the idea..."

What followed was a series of polite pleasantries.

Grim was more reserved than Leonard and less boisterous, but at the end of the day, he was an Adventurer, not some stuffy noble obsessed with etiquette. So, after the initial formalities, the conversation gradually became more relaxed and familiar.

"Leader, what are you all talking about? Get over here and drink!"

Other members from both Adventurer Groups came over to say hello one after another, and the banquet went on for a very long time.

In stark contrast to the celebratory atmosphere in the City Lord’s Mansion of Silver Stream City, over in Lania City, its City Lord, Caroline Lawrence, was in a foul mood.
