Chapter 356: Chapter 199: Banquet, Golden Egg (2)
Eating the meat of one type of Lord Level Demon too often will eventually render it completely ineffective, forcing you to switch to a different kind of Demon.
The meat from a Middle Tier Lord is more effective than that of a Low Tier Lord, and the meat from a High Tier Lord is significantly more potent than that of a Middle Tier.
Moving up the ladder, the meat of an Epic Level Demon is generally not something one would normally consider. Even the powerful elites of the Kingdom, or the more average nobles of the Empire, would struggle to afford it.
However, the corresponding effects are simply astonishing...
It’s no exaggeration to say a single meal can raise an Attribute by one point.
If one person were to eat the meat of an entire Epic Level Demon, they could potentially raise their Attributes by seven or eight points!
Of course, the flesh of an Epic Level Demon contains an extremely high amount of Energy. If the consumer’s Level isn’t high enough, the amount of meat they can eat in one sitting is quite limited.
For example, at his current Level, Lin Mo would be completely unable to withstand the Energy of an Epic Level Demon. Eating even a small bite would risk injury or even death, as he wouldn’t be able to handle the surge of power.
Even Elite Level Professionals can’t eat too much at once. Since Epic Level Demons tend to be massive, finishing one off would take a considerable amount of time.
To date, Lin Mo hadn’t seen many Lord Level Demons. Aside from the Hurricane Wolf he’d encountered in the Secret Realm Maze, the only other one was the Silver Level Goblin from the recent battlefield.
Goblins, however, are rather unique compared to other Demons. Their meat is not only unpalatable and ineffective but can even be harmful. It can’t be considered a proper substitute for Lord Level Demon flesh; it’s merely a last resort for those who absolutely cannot afford the real thing.
In any case, Lin Mo wanted nothing to do with it.
As for the Hurricane Wolf, however, Lin Mo had brought back some of its meat in addition to the materials he’d harvested. He could spend the next few days figuring out how to cook it.
He, Ali, Feney, and Shefilya would have no problem eating the meat of a Lord Level Demon like the Hurricane Wolf. But a Non-Professional like Lena would likely be unable to handle it.
’I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it...’
Shaking his head, Lin Mo was about to leave the City Lord’s Mansion when an Adventurer approached him from the opposite direction.
The man was a blond-haired fellow in his thirties or forties. His hair was long and incredibly thick, cascading down his back like a lion’s mane.
"Hey there, young man. Could you point me to the restroom?"
He greeted Lin Mo as soon as he saw him, stumbling as he walked. It was clear he’d had more than a few drinks.
"Go straight for a bit and take the next turn. It’s right there."
Lin Mo was already quite familiar with the layout of the City Lord’s Mansion. He sized up the Adventurer before him with some curiosity. The man might have looked like a drunkard, but his physique was powerful and he had the air of someone extraordinary. It was obvious at a glance that he was an expert.
Coupled with that thick, lion-like mane of blond hair, Lin Mo easily made a connection: one of the two Adventurer Groups City Lord Beixila had hired was named the "Lion" Adventurer Group.
’This must be the leader of the Lion Adventurer Group, then.’
An Adventurer Group was essentially a well-developed, larger-scale Adventurer Squad, having evolved from one.
Aside from the difference in member count, there was no fundamental distinction between the two. However, Adventurer Groups were generally more loosely organized than Adventurer Squads. Except for large-scale, difficult quests, it was rare for the entire group to mobilize for a single mission.
As a result, Adventurer Groups were often subdivided into smaller, more independent squads. From that perspective, one could view an Adventurer Group as a collective formed from many different Adventurer Squads.
A small city like Silver Stream City didn’t have many Adventurers. The largest Adventurer Squad only had twenty to thirty members, nowhere near large enough to be considered an Adventurer Group.
The two Adventurer Groups hired by Lady Beixila, however, each had nearly two hundred members. To be the leader of such a large group, the blond man’s strength couldn’t be anything to scoff at. He might have even reached the Elite Level.
’Fajade City, huh?’
He had been doing a lot of reading lately. In addition to books about Adventurers, Lin Mo also read up on the world’s history and geography. The Doria Kingdom, where he currently resided, was naturally his top priority for study.
Thus, he knew a little about Fajade City.
The Doria Kingdom had many small cities like Silver Stream City, as well as some mid-sized cities that were slightly larger. The difference between the small and mid-sized cities, however, wasn’t actually that significant.
For example, not counting the surrounding towns and villages, Silver Stream City itself had a population of about three to four hundred thousand people. A mid-sized city might have a population of five to six hundred thousand, or seven to eight hundred thousand at most.
But the Doria Kingdom also boasted four major cities. The smallest of these had a population of nearly two million!
And Fajade City was one of them.
Now that the Goblin crisis was resolved, Lin Mo’s own power had increased significantly. Before long, the Demons and quests around Loran Forest would likely no longer be enough to meet his needs. When that time came, he would have to consider moving on. Fajade City seemed like an excellent option.
