“Those two devils are already sound asleep…”

“This early?” Qin Chu was a bit disappointed.

“It’s not early… It’s quite late now, Chu… We’re adults but kids get tired early.”

“Fine, I’ll call again tomorrow.”

“Wait… When are you guys coming back?”

“We haven’t decided yet. Rick wants us to stay one more day so that he can take us to his southern villa.”

“Okay… Dad loves the twins anyways… I’ll let them stay and play for a bit longer.”

“Ning, have they been naughty?” Huo Mian asked.

“No, they’re great, Mian. These nieces of mine have sure been good children.” Qin Ning was afraid, to tell the truth.

She had seen what the twins were capable of. If the twins took revenge on her, she would be doomed.

“That’s good, but if they are naughty, feel free to call me any time,” Huo Mian advised.

“Okay, Sis-in-Law.”

“Ning, when you take them out, remember to take the bodyguards… Just to be safe.” Qin Chu was very protective of his daughters so he even chose Qin Ning’s personal bodyguards himself. They had a total of eight people protecting them, so it was quite a scene when they went out.

It was as if his daughters were the president’s…

“Okay, okay… Don’t worry. Even if I lose myself, I won’t lose the twins…”

Then, Qin Ning hung up.

Qin Chu and Huo Mian cuddled and chatted for a while before Huo Mian fell asleep.

Qin Chu looked at her with adoring eyes and gently readjusted her position.

He carefully put a blanket on her before heading downstairs. Rick was indeed still downstairs.

“Do you want a drink?” Rick looked up and saw Qin Chu.

“Sure.” Qin Chu walked over and sat down.

Rick picked up an empty glass and poured some whiskey for Qin Chu.

“I’m so jealous of you…”

“Jealous of what?” Qin Chu took a sip of the whiskey.

“I’m jealous that you have Huo Mian by your side… Huo Mian would never leave you.”

“You’re acting like it’s the end of the world… From what I know, you were the one who broke up with Xixi and I heard that she cried her soul out for you… She talked to Mian a few times and it seemed like she wanted to get back together…” Qin Chu said.

“It’s better to cut the pain short.”

“But your pain is still here, isn’t it… It’s been a long time. Three years, eh?” Qin Chu smiled.

“Xixi’s the first and last girl I’d ever love.”

“Why are you so sure? Do you not plan on getting married or falling in love with anyone else?”

Qin Chu looked at Rick.

“What do you think?” Rick forced a smile then gulped down the whiskey in his hand.

“Godfather… You’ve had too much to drink,” the butler came up to advise Rick with a fluent British accent.

“Get lost…” Rick gave an icy look.

“You sure are more ruthless compared to before…” Qin Chu exclaimed. He had recalled Rick killing those gangsters without even blinking an eye.

“If I wasn’t ruthless, I wouldn’t be able to sit here today. Then the kingdom my brother and father fought for would be conquered by someone else…”

“I understand.” Qin Chu nodded.

“Qin Chu, let me ask you. If you were me, would you give up Huo Mian to protect your family’s legacy?”

Before Qin Chu could respond, Rick smiled and said, “You won’t. Huo Mian’s your everything. She’s more important than your own life. You don’t care about your family, business, or legacy… For you, Huo Mian’s enough, right?”

“Yes, you’re right,” Qin Chu responded clearly.

Just then, Rick suddenly asked, “Oh right, about that thing… Did Huo Mian know about what happened?”
