Mengmeng’s words reminded the crowd of something—-

“Qin Yawen, you personally released the rumors of Han Dong attempting to rape Tang Mo’er, what is your purpose in doing so?”

“Tang Mo’er is your biological daughter, why did you create such rumors and push her into a scandal with her stepfather?”

“Mom,” Tang Mo’er hugged Qin Yawen’s thigh and couldn’t stop the tears streaming down her face. “Do you really… not love me? All these years, you’ve left me to care for myself. Looking at Tang Mo’er’s terrific acting, Qin Yawen was so amazed she wanted to give her a round of applause. She definitely deserved her title as the undisputed leader of the four most popular female stars in Karghalik. With her attractive looks and acting capability, her ‘wretched plight’ was simply flawless. Qin Yawen almost wanted bow her head in defeat.

“Tang Mo’er, do you want to know the truth? When I was with Han Dong, he revealed a secret to me.”

“Shut up! You’d better shut up!” Qin Yawen screamed at Mengmeng, close to having an emotional breakdown.

Tang Mo’er looked at Mengmeng, she had planned everything that Mengmeng had to say today, but the plan had never included anything about revealing a secret.

The entire crowd gasped and their judgemental eyes pierced into this so-called ‘goddess’, Qin Yawen. Twenty years ago, she was everyone’s goddess, perfect and unattainable, no one had anticipated that she would have an extra-marital affair. To think it was even during her pregnancy and confinement period. How desperate was she back then to even do such a thing? The crowd stood slack-jawed in shock.

It was the first time that Tang Mo’er had heard anything like this. Her eyes were round and wide and she was stunned until someone called out, “Mayor Tang has arrived!”

Qin Yawen jolted, she speedily lifted her head and saw Tang Hai walking through the crowd. They have not met each other for 20 years and Tang Hai still looked sleek in his suit, dignified as though he held great power in his hands.

The reporters wished that they could just charge over to interview Tang Hai, but no one dared to step forward. After all, this was Mayor Tang. The most they could do was shove the microphone in front of Qin Yawen—-

“Qin Yawen, did you really have extra-marital affair 20 years ago?”

“How mesmerized were you back then to even forsake your husband and daughter for Han Dong?”

“Is it that you’re not fond Tang Mo’er because she was a living testament of your affair?”

Qin Yawen’s face went pale, she felt as though she was forcefully pushed into an abyss.

All these years, she had persevered and endured everything, despite being in an unhappy marriage, putting up a blissful front in front of the cameras. It was simply because there is someone on earth that she never wanted to show her unhappiness to.

That person was standing right in front of her, his gaze was calm and he was no longer the person he used to be. The man who scoured Karghalik to buy a piece of her favorite cake, the man who wouldn’t allow her to do any household chores or even handle anything wet. Tang Hai was no longer the same Tang Hai, who had lived and breathed for her and her alone.
