Chapter 1469: I Like It When You Help me

The next day in the Lu Mansion at the breakfast table.

All the family members were enjoying breakfast as the talk about Lu Lian’s wedding was the most discussed topic those days and it didn’t leave the breakfast table either.

“We shall call Lu Lijun and Yuyan back so that they can also be a part of this wedding discussion. I feel like we are leaving them out when they should be the ones to be here first,” Ning Jiahui said, “As a brother, Lu Lijun should be here to look into the preparation of his sister’s wedding and take initiative to decide things and fulfil the responsibilities of a brother.”

“You are right, Ning Jiahui but the wedding has a time and I am sure they will be here soon,” Lu Jinhai replied.

“I already feel bad for not being able to visit Yuyan when she was not fine. I hope they are not fighting like before and everything is fine between them.”

“I know and we all feel the same but Lu Lijun is there to look after her.”

Lu Lian, who heard it all, said, “Mother, trust me. Lu Lijun can take care of her really well just like how brother Qiang could have. He is changed and much more matured, even better than we can think about.”

Ning Jiahui looked at her, “I know you will never leave a chance to take your brother’s side.”

“No mother. I had seen them. Before coming here, I had seen Yuyan. She was not fine and only Lu Lijun could handle her.”

“I got to know from your father. After knowing it, it worried me more.”

“You worry too much,” Elder Lu said, “We should trust Lu Lijun. Even her parents didn’t go see her after Jiang Yang stopped them. Lu Feng was there too. If there was something to worry about, he would have brought Yuyan back with him. But he didn’t, that means she is fine there with Lu Lijun.”

“You can at least trust Lu Feng and Jiang Yang,” Lu Jinhai commented.

She nodded. “It’s not like I don’t trust Lu Lijun. I know he is more responsible. I just worry because I have not seen Yuyan personally. She has been with us here for all these years and when she is not well, we can not take care of her.”

“It’s fine. Lu Lijun had taken her on vacation. I am sure she will be fine after that. She needed a break after working for so many years.”

Ning Jiahui could not disagree.

——

On the first morning in that new place, Lu Lijun woke up and found the place next to him empty. Jiang Yuyan was not there unlike how he was used to seeing her in his arms whenever he woke up every morning for the past half a month.

‘Where did she go?” He questioned and looked around the room only to find her standing in the balcony attached to their bedroom.

He stepped out of the bed and walked toward the balcony. She sensed the movement behind her and turned to look at him.

“Good morning!”

Lu Lijun stood frozen in his place as he only looked at her quietly. She was smiling brightly, her eyes full of life and happiness, her hair moving along the breeze. The way she looked at him, she looked like the happiest person in this world.

“What happened?” she asked, seeing him dazed.

“What did you see to make you so happy?” he asked, still standing away, observing her happy face.

“You,” she answered, without waiting for a moment, “You are the reason for this happiness.”

Her words, those simple words touched his heart. He didn’t expect her to say it. When last time in the hospital she said that line, he was still holding on in his mind and heart to never forget it- ‘With you by my side, everything seems beautiful and now she said one more line that he would never want to forget.

She continued to look at him while he walked towards her to stand facing her. “Say it again.”

This time she giggled to see how shocked he was to hear those simple words, “You are the reason for my happiness.”

Lu Lijun’s happiness could not be expressed in his words. He hugged her tightly and stayed there wordlessly. All he could say was, “Thank you.”

She hugged him back in response.

“Go get freshen up. All this happiness is making me hungrier than ever.”

He let go of her and pecked on her lips. “I will be back.”

The two had breakfast while sitting on that balcony as the hotel staff arranged it there for them. It was peaceful and relaxing.

“I never expected this place to be so good. It’s better than what I had thought it to be,” she commented.

“It’s a private island and maintained perfectly with all kinds of facilities but still maintaining the natural touch. You did well by searching for this place. Because of you we are,” he complimented.

“I always go for the best,” she replied with a playful smile.

“That…I am definitely sure about it,” Lu Lijun agreed and pointed towards himself, “The proof of it is here…the best one for you.”

“I agree,” she replied with a little laugh.

After breakfast, the two spent some time while basking in the morning sun. In a while, Lu Lijun received the call. It was from his sister who had called him to inform him about what had happened at the breakfast table and then the two talked about her wedding plan.

“Don’t worry, I will be there soon,” he replied.

“Don’t rush. If the time comes, for you, this sister of yours will punch her wedding for a few more months or maybe a year.”

Lu Lijun smiled pleasantly, “I won’t let it happen. I want to see my sister in her wedding dress, looking prettier than ever.”

“You sweet talker. I will go now. Have fun with your woman.”

Lu Lijun hung up the call and returned to the room where Jiang Yuyan was not present.

‘Where did she go?”

Just as he walked towards the door to the bathing area, beyond that it has that luxurious bath, he heard the sound of water flowing from the shower.

“Is she having a bath? And that too without me?” he mumbled and then went to the door. He moved that circular door knob and realized it was not locked.

Not hesitating even for a moment, he pushed open the door, only to find Jiang Yuyan standing under the shower inside that glass cubicle, as her back faced him.

She was standing under that hot water shower that she didn’t realize Lu Lijun had entered the bath.

After a while, she felt someone step inside the glass cubicle and stood exactly behind her. She opened her eyes, only to find a strong chest, touching her back lightly.

She knew who that was and didn’t turn to look at him. He lowered his face to her ear only to whisper, “You, having a bath? Without me?”

“You were busy talking,” she replied and moved away a little, “I am done bathing. You can take your time.”

“Help me bath, then,” he countered as he continued to stand behind her. “Not like we are doing it for the first time but I like it when you help me in the bath.”
