Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband

Chapter 1356: Getting To Know About Him

Chapter 1356: Getting To Know About Him

Jiang Yuyan sat on the couch and opened that thick album-like file while Noah waited for her reaction. Just as she opened that hard cover, the page came into her sight as her own sketch. In that, she was smiling and from her eyes, it looked like she was happy seeing someone. Such happiness she could imagine on her face only when she used to see Lu Qiang in front of her. In that sketch, she looked like how she used to look ten years back.

Her hair parted on one side left opened with one hairpin securing a few hair strands on one side of her opened and carried that innocence of a young girl in her eyes. She missed that old self of hers that was now missing somewhere never to be found again.

She turned to the next page and again it was her sketch but with a different expression. It was an annoyed face with pouting lips. It used to happen when her brother and others used to tease her. She smiled at it and turned to the next page. In the next one, she was laughing heartily and in the next one, she looked serious. He kept turning pages and it was all her sketches with her different expressions and moods. One needed to know her really well to draw her like this.

But the important thing was there were only her sketches and she flipped more pages to see if there was something else Lu Lijun had drawn but it was all only her.

“These all are my sketches,” she mumbled.

“You are right, president Lu,” Noah replied to the surprised woman.

Jiang Yuyan didn’t know what more to say and heard Noah again, “Even though he was away from home, there was always the only one person in his mind always. Though he never saw her in the past ten years, he could still remember her perfectly to be able to draw her the same. Or maybe he was afraid to forget how she looked so he kept drawing her.”

Jiang Yuyan’s hands trembled at this as she could imagine him remembering her all the time while she thought he would forget her. All her efforts to push him away were useless and instead it pushed him to yarn for her even more.

“He used to draw it whenever he liked and then crumble that sheet into a ball and throw it in the trash can. I don’t know why I always collected them and kept them safe. I just felt the person must be important to him and he didn’t throw those drawings intentionally and he was just angry for some reason. I didn’t know these would come in handy like this one day. I am sure if I have to show him now what he did all those ten years, he will be shocked to see it just as you are, president Lu.”

Jiang Yuyan was speechlessly staring at the file.

“He loved you for a long time and he loved you even before he could understand the meaning of those feelings. I had seen him struggling with his feelings and trying to deny them but he could not. In the end, he had to accept it and it was not easy for him. Still, it is not easy for him to hide it but he is doing it because he cares for you, President Lu. If you think one day he will let go of you and get someone else in his life, you can mark my words that it will never happen. I know him well and there will be no one else other than you.”

“T-That’s enough,” Jiang Yuyan said in a low voice.

“My apologies. I know I have overstepped my boundaries but today I wished to be his friend rather than the employee of Lu Corporations. I hope you will consider what I said today. I will take a leave,” Noah left while Jiang Yuyan felt frozen in her place.

She buried her face in her palms. ‘Of course, I know what he feels for me and even I….’ she sighed helplessly, ‘Why things are getting even harder for me? Why do they keep coming to me instead of not letting me know them ever?’

Just then there was a knock on the door and Martha entered the room with folded clothes in her hand. Jiang Yuyan looked at her, “Young mistress, the dinner is ready. Would you like to have it here or with others?”

“I am not hungry yet. I will have it later,” Jiang Yuyan replied and looked at the clock. “Is Lu Lijun back?” she could not help but enquire about him.

“Fourth Young master is yet to return home,” Martha replied and opened the cupboard to keep the clothes inside it that belonged to Lu Lijun.

Jiang Yuyan happened to notice the winter coat hung inside, which surely was meant for the kid. It looked familiar to her but as it was hung with other clothes, she could not see it clearly. She went to the wardrobe and pulled it out, ‘This I had gifted him ten years back.’ She didn’t know whether to laugh at it as it was still there and thought how cute he must have looked when he wore it at that time.

Martha looked finished arranging the clothes and said with a smile, “That winter coat is Young master’s favourite one. It was gifted by Mr Lu Feng when he visited here for the first time.’

Jiang Yuyan didn’t correct Martha and hung that winter coat back as she heard Martha chuckling and say, “Once I was about to take it away thinking it’s short for a fourth young master but he got angry and warned me to never touch it again. I am not even allowed to wash it. He does it by himself. He seemed to love this gift from his brother so much that most of the time he sleeps holding it. Maybe because he can’t wear it now.’

It surprised Jiang Yuyan and she thought, ‘Did Lu Feng tell him that it was a gift from me?’

“When you wish to eat, let me know. I will arrange the dinner for you,” Martha said and left while Jiang Yuyan felt her mind getting even more chaotic after knowing new things about Lu Lijun.
