Chapter 1033 - Wen Siblings...
Chapter 1033 - Wen Siblings...
Wen's family home...
After breakfast, Mr. Wen and his wife were with their son and the daughter.
"Aren't you happy to be home after so long?" Mr. Wen asked his daughter, who was busy talking to her brother Wen Zac.
"I am, father," she replied, smiling pleasantly as her pretty eyes shined brightly.
"Then why are you so silent, unlike before," Mr. Wen asked.
Li Wei smiled teasingly and looked at her brother, "Brother, can you tell father that I'm not the same little girl who will keep jumping here and there."
Mr. Wen smiled, and others laughed too.
"Thank god, father, at least consider me grown up," Wen Zac added.
"You two are right," said Mr. Wen as he looked at the pretty lady sitting beside him, his wife, "As they are grown up, it's fine to get them married."
"What?" Liwei exclaimed while Wen Zac looked at his father, "I'm sure father would consider what I said."
Mr. Wen nodded, "I know, but you too don't forget your promise then."
"I won't," said Wen Zac.
Liwei looked at her serious-looking brother and father, "What?... What's going on here?"
"Nothing," Wen Zac replied.
"I want to know," she insisted and continued staring at them.
"We wanted your brother to marry President Lu, but he doesn't want to," Mr. Wen replied.
"President Lu?" Liwei exclaimed in surprise and then smiled, "I would love to have her as my sister-in-law. Such an amazing lady she is."
"Liwei, don't start it," Wen Zac interrupted.
Liwei didn't wish to listen, "For the first time, I think my brother is not that smart. How can you even reject her? If I was you…."
"Enough Liwei," Wen Zac said calmly, "The decision is final."
He looked really serious that Liwei stopped, and the parents didn't say anything too.
"We have found one more amazing person," Mrs. Wen informed.
"Who? But make sure brother won't say no this time," Liwei spoke.
"It's about you, Liwei," her mother countered.
Liwei looked at her brother, "What's mother talking about?"
"They are preparing to send you out of this house," Wen Zac replied.
Liwei smiled awkwardly and looked at her parents, "I know, mother is pulling my leg."
"We are serious," Mr. Wen said, and the colors on Liwei's face faded away.
"Father, I don't want to," she said calmly.
"Why? Do you have someone you like?" Mr. Wen asked.
"N-no, but I'm so young for this," she replied.
"Didn't you say you are grown up," Mr. Wen countered.
Before Liwei could say anything, her mother spoke, "We won't force you. But, I'm sure you will like the boy."
"It's not about liking the guy; it's about I don't want to marry," Liwei insisted and looked at her brother, "Brother, say something."
"Don't worry," he patted her head, "In the end, it's your call."
"What do you think about Lu Lijun?" Mr. Wen asked.
"Lu Lijun? What to think about him. I don't even know him properly," she said.
"That day you met him…."
She sighed, "It was just for some time, and it's not enough to know someone."
"We will let you know him, and later you can decide," Mrs. Wen said.
Liwei frowned, "Mother is not getting my point here. It's just that I don't wish to marry at least for the next few years. I want to focus on my life, my studies, and work."
"We aren't marrying you off tomorrow. Just get to know him, and we can think about it after a few years or what you two will decide," Mr. We suggested.
"We two?" Liwei asked sarcastically, "There is no 'we'. I'm sure he would be the same as me and wouldn't want this."
"See, just in one meeting, you understood him this much. Later you will get to know him even better," said Mr. Wen. "Let my friend ask him, and later we can decide.
"The Lu family is not conservative. Look at president Lu. They had given her freedom to do what she wanted. Which woman wouldn't want such a family," Mrs. Wen added.
"I don't need anyone's permission to do what I want. I don't want to be tied in these things so soon," Liwei argued.
Before the parents could say anything, Wen Zac spoke, "Don't force her. When you two say you won't force her, then you should follow your words."
Mr. Wen agreed, "Fine, but she can at least meet him if things go right from both sides. Don't say no to it."
Liwei looked at her brother as if pleading with him.
"There is no harm in meeting him," Wen Zac said, "He is a good guy."
Sighing deeply, Liwei nodded as it was her brother who asked her to. She loved her brother a lot and listened to him always.
"We are invited for dinner tonight," Mr. Wen said.
"I already said I have prior engagements," Wen Zac said.
Mr. Wen knew Wen Zac wouldn't come, so he looked at his daughter, who tried to avoid it.
"I agreed to meet him; I think that should be enough," Liwei said.
Mr. Wen sighed, "Fine. Your mother and I'll go."
The siblings felt relieved and looked at each other.
Wen zac stood up to go to his room, and Liwei followed him.
Wen Zac looked lost in his thoughts, walking the staircase with his hands tucked in his pants pocket. He sensed Liwei following him and looked at her when they reached upstairs.
"Do you need something?" he asked.
She nodded, "I want to talk to my brother."
"Go ahead."
She grabbed her brother's hand, "Not here. Let's go to your room."
Wen Zac let her drag him, and they reached his room. She made him sit on the couch and sat beside him.
He looked at questioningly, and she spoke, "Now tell me what's the matter."
"Nothing," he replied nonchalantly.
"Tell me why you said no to marry president Lu and what kind of promise you made with father?"
