Wizard: Building a Golem Legion From Zero

Chapter 607 - 587: Engaging the Enemy!

Chapter 607: Chapter 587: Engaging the Enemy!

"The enemy has halted their movements!"

Fifty-one seconds. Seventeen Undead Bone Dragons, completely annihilated.

This news struck the bridge of the White Bone Throne like a heavy hammer, utterly shattering the Skeleton Duke’s composure.

One hundred and fifty years. He had spent a century and a half collecting, refining, and nurturing this Bone Dragon squadron. Every single one was crafted from peerless, extinct skeletal remains excavated from ancient ruins, nurtured day and night with his dual Power of Laws. Each beast possessed half the combat power of a Dawn Star Level entity.

Now, they were all gone.

Brutally smashed into cosmic dust by that metallic creation—which stood barely two meters tall—as easily as crushing a bug.

Outside the porthole, a white cloud of bone fragments stretching for dozens of kilometers drifted slowly against the dark purple backdrop of the Sea of Magical Power, resembling a grand yet silent funeral. And that damned humanoid Golem just hovered quietly in the exact center of the shattered bone cloud, like a frigid star surrounded by ashes.

"That isn’t the one..." Kesuga stared intently outside, his blood-red eyes filled with shock and apprehension. "It’s not the same Golem that almost extracted my soul back then!"

He would never forget that day. That Golem, hidden in the shadows, had used the dual Power of Laws of Soul and Decay to make him beg for death. The monster before him, which relied purely on devastating physical destruction, was exactly like the one from that day—equally overwhelming and equally unreasonable!

"So our intelligence was wrong?" The Skeleton Duke’s bone claws gripped the armrest of the command seat so hard that fine cracks spread across it. The two clusters of Soul Fire in his eyes danced wildly. "That Alchemy Wizard who only emerged twelve years ago actually commands three Dawn Star Level Golems?!"

"Don’t just focus on that one," Sara suddenly spoke up, her voice taut as a bowstring.

Directly in front of their battleship, a hundred and forty-four thousand Mad Bee drones had gathered into an impenetrable black sandstorm, surging forward oppressively. Further out on the periphery, twelve thousand PX-3 Heavy Armored Golems were closing in from all directions, steamrolling everything in their path. Storm Falcons, Freedom Gundams, and Gabriels darted and patrolled at high speeds through the gaps in their formation.

The entire encirclement spanned hundreds of kilometers from the outside in. And trapped at the dead center of this inescapable net was the Skeleton Duke Fleet, which had already decelerated to a near standstill.

"This isn’t a chance encounter. He came specifically for us," Sara noted, staring at the nebula of steel.

The Skeleton Duke didn’t answer. A moment later, he began to chuckle lowly.

"To think I’ve spent a lifetime playing the pirate, only to have my eyes pecked out by a fledgling today. Surrounded by a newly advanced Morning Star playing with hunks of iron..." The Duke stood up abruptly. His twin clusters of Soul Fire compressed into pinpricks of ghastly green light, and a terrifying pressure washed over the entire ship. "Does he really think I’ve spent the last two hundred years as a Star Thief for nothing?! If that’s how it is, then we fight!

"No matter how many Low-Level Golems there are, they are ultimately just lifeless objects lacking the Power of Laws! They pose no substantial threat to us."

He sharply pointed his stark white bone claw at a silver speck on the Crystal Ball. "The only real threats are this one and the other two Golems of the same tier he exposed earlier. The three of us will take on one each! Leave the one that destroyed my Bone Dragon legion to me!"

"Entire fleet, contract defensive formations! Battleships, prepare for engagement and deploy all forces!" the Skeleton Duke’s orders exploded across the fleet’s communication channel.

The seven Floating Battleships quickly finalized their combat preparations. A massive horde of Blood and Flesh Puppets and Low-tier Undead surged out from within the hulls, flooding densely into the void like a black torrent breaking through a dam.

When it came to mass-producing troops, the Undead and flesh factions of the Bloodline School had never feared anyone!

Meanwhile, in the hangar of the Ten Thousand Miles of Sunshine.

Two Steel Giants stood side by side. Their eighty-six-meter-tall frames looked disproportionately huge inside the hangar, like two iron towers forcefully stuffed into a warehouse. This was PX-5 Xiong Da’s first battle after its upgrades were completed. Beside it stood the brand-new, factory-fresh Xiong Si.

Two gigantic Dragon Cavalry Two-in-One Floating Cannons were already mounted on their respective backs, the ridges of their Silent Extinction Silver casings outlining sharp geometric silhouettes in the dim light.

In the deeper shadows behind the two PX-5s, a pair of eerie green lights flickered silently. Thanatos. Its size was nowhere near as towering as the PX-5s, but the moment it powered up, the temperature in the entire hangar plummeted to freezing, and even the air was laced with a layer of Frost.

"Deploy!" Allen’s command echoed through the channel.

The hangar doors on the belly of the Ten Thousand Miles of Sunshine rumbled open. Two figures catapulted out from the ship’s underbelly one after another, closely followed by the black shadow radiating a freezing aura of death.

The wing-shaped Floating Cannons expanded and engaged their thrusters in the void. A terrifying propulsive force erupted, instantly stretching out azure Magic Flow like exhaust flames. Two Meteor II Ship-Slicing Blades were unsheathed simultaneously. Forged from Gold-Devouring Copper, their edges gleamed with a sinister, bloodthirsty dark red under the faint light of the Sea of Magical Power as they thrust straight toward the heart of the battlefield—heading directly for the Skeleton Duke’s flagship, the White Bone Throne.

At the same time, within the shattered bone cloud, No. 18 moved as well.

Its Spiritual Remains Steel Body, which had lost nearly all of its synthetic skin, initiated a sudden, unheralded acceleration. With the Anti-Gravity Rune Array and Storm Airflow acceleration system working in tandem once more, the silver comet charged head-on toward the White Bone Throne at high speeds.

On the bridge of the White Bone Throne.

"Alert! Three more Dawn Star Level signal sources have appeared from the direction of the enemy ship!" The shriek of a Witch Demon Apprentice tore through the oppressive atmosphere of the bridge.

The Skeleton Duke, who had just been preparing to charge out, emitted a teeth-setting symphony of grinding bones from his entire skeleton.

Four?! That Alchemy Wizard actually commanded four Dawn Star Golems?!

"I don’t care!" The Skeleton Duke’s voice was now laced with fury. "Sara, Kesuga, ride out with me!"

The frontal battlefield was on the verge of collision.

Meanwhile, at the rear of the fleet, the North Wind was blazing forward.

This two-hundred-meter-long commercial transport ship was currently accelerating through the void in a suicidal posture. Its heavily modified propulsion system was locked into an overloaded state, placing structural stress on the hull that it could barely withstand. Cracks riddled the ship’s outer shell, and sections of the deck had even begun to warp and buckle.

But it didn’t matter. The moment this ship left port, it had already been classified as a one-time consumable. The instant it received the encrypted command from the Ten Thousand Miles of Sunshine, the ship executed its final flight plan: a straight-line sprint at maximum speed, with its target being the Skeleton Duke Fleet.

Two thousand kilometers. Eleven hundred kilometers. Five hundred kilometers.

Deep within the cargo hold, PX-5 Xiong Er and Xiong San stood in silence. Their Abyssal Lead coatings suppressed their Dawn Star Level Magic Power signals down to the exact level of the void’s background magical radiation.

On the fleet’s Perception Crystal Balls, the North Wind’s signal had consistently remained at the level of a regular merchant vessel, though its speed and trajectory had already caught the enemy’s attention. The distance continued to shrink madly.

Four hundred kilometers. Three hundred kilometers.

In the cargo hold of the North Wind, the slumbering giants were about to awaken. With a sharp CLICK, the heavy locking mechanisms sprang open. Xiong Er and Xiong San completed all their system self-checks within three seconds.

Three Dawn Star Level engines jumped straight from warm standby to full power output. Three deep, low-frequency roars resonated and compounded within the cargo hold, causing the entire North Wind to tremble violently like it was having a seizure.

BOOM!

The North Wind disintegrated.

The Magic Power shockwave generated when the two PX-5s broke out of the hull became the straw that broke the camel’s back. The transport ship, already battered and bruised by its full-power voyage, tore open outward from the point of impact. Its keel snapped, its decks peeled back, and its engines, torn from their mounts, were detonated by the magical shockwave.

A blinding ball of light bloomed silently against the dark purple backdrop of the Sea of Magical Power, exceptionally glaring. And from this ball of light, two massive figures shot out at supersonic speeds.

Three sets of Dawn Star Level engines roared at full power, while the eight Dragon Cavalry units mounted on each of their backs spread out like wings.

Two torrential Dawn Star Level Magic Power signal sources appeared completely unmasked, directly behind the Skeleton Duke Fleet!
