Chapter 529: Chapter 515: War
[Authorization confirmed. Hangar doors opening.]
[PX-4 awakened. Engines warming up... 10%... 50%... 100%.]
[Commencing deployment!]
---
On the ruined battlefield of the Azure Sky Fortress, Baroque was thoroughly enjoying the thrill of his own power. Before his Dawn Star Level strength, these tin cans were as fragile as wet paper. With every slash of his blade, steel shattered, and the Magic Engines within exploded with a deafening roar. The erupting flames filled him with immense pleasure. He could sense that the Alchemy Wizard hiding inside the giant warship was completely out of tricks.
Just as he prepared to swing his blade again and wipe out the row of iron lumps before him, it was as if a mountain had suddenly materialized on the battlefield. Baroque snapped his head up to look. A colossal flaming meteor tore through the clouds, plummeting straight toward the ground with an ear-piercing sonic boom.
BOOM!!!
The earth let out a mournful wail as the ground caved in, violently cratering into a depression a hundred meters in diameter centered around the impact point! A visible shockwave frantically rippled outward like a tsunami. Thousands of Low-tier Demons didn’t even have time to scream before the blast wave tore them to shreds, reducing them to clouds of blood mist in mid-air.
The eighty-six-meter-tall Steel Giant had crashed into the center of the battlefield like a meteorite!
Allen’s consciousness had already descended into this steel body. He flexed the fingers of the PX-4. The five metallic knuckles, each comparable to a massive pillar, ground against each other, emitting a heavy, thunderous rumble. The entire chassis was forged from Radiant Black Steel. Its pitch-black armor surface seemed capable of devouring all light. Its broad shoulder armor stood tall like mountain peaks, and its thick, sturdy limbs perfectly embodied the word "violence."
Allen’s gaze—or rather, the narrow, blood-red optical sensor on the PX-4’s head—locked onto Baroque.
Baroque was also staring dead at this behemoth. Standing nearly thirty meters tall, he didn’t even reach the waist of the black giant. The PX-4 looked down at him. The roar of its three engines nearly drowned out the din of the entire battlefield.
"Eight million, five hundred and twenty thousand," Allen’s voice broadcasted from within the PX-4. "I’ve tallied up your tab.
"You just destroyed seventy-one of my PX-3s. The total cost is 8.52 million Low-Level Magic Stones. Have you figured out how you’re going to pay for them?"
"Just another oversized tin can?" Baroque sneered, the sickly green flames on his Evil Energy Battle Blade flaring up three feet higher. "Perfect! I’ll offer your head to—"
BOOM!!!
The PX-4’s right fist slammed down in an instant. The air was violently displaced, sending a shockwave rippling outward at visible speeds. Nearby Demons and Golem wreckage were swept away like fallen leaves.
Baroque’s words were forcefully punched back down his throat. He hadn’t even caught the movement before that colossal fist imprinted itself onto the side of his head. The thirty-meter-tall Demon Military Governor plowed a trench ten meters deep into the ground. He rolled, bounced, and rolled again, until he crashed into the distant town ruins with a loud BANG, reducing half of a clock tower to a cloud of flying rubble.
"...That’s it?" Allen retracted his fist. He had only used sixty percent of his power for that punch. That wasn’t right, Allen thought, frowning slightly. A Dawn Star Level couldn’t possibly be this weak.
The sound of tumbling rubble echoed from the ruins. Baroque struggled to his feet. His left shoulder was caved in, his ribs were protruding outward, and green Demon Blood gushed from his wounds like a fountain. A second later, his body began to heal at a visible rate.
"ROAR!"
Endless fury and humiliation burned away Baroque’s reason. He unfurled his bat-like wings and kicked off the ground, blasting a twenty-meter-deep crater beneath his feet! His thirty-meter-tall body turned into a streak of sickly green lightning. Gripping his Battle Blade with both hands, he concentrated all his strength and slashed with all his might at the PX-4’s Chest Armor!
"DIE!"
The Battle Blade descended with world-rending momentum. But Allen couldn’t even be bothered to control the PX-4 to raise an arm and block.
CLANG!
A deafening screech of colliding metal echoed through the clouds. Baroque felt an irresistible force travel up the hilt of his weapon. His arms instantly went numb, the webbing between his thumbs and forefingers tore open, and the Evil Energy Battle Blade violently rebounded, nearly flying out of his grasp!
He stared wide-eyed at the PX-4’s Chest Armor. There was only a shallow white scuff mark; the attack hadn’t even pierced the surface layer.
"Impossible!" Baroque roared, pushing his Evil Energy to the absolute limit. He was at the Dawn Star Level now! Sickly green flames erupted from his body, coalescing into a gigantic, fifty-meter-long Evil Energy Battle Blade that viciously hacked against the Radiant Black Steel Tibia Armor!
Sparks cascaded like a waterfall. This time, it cut in—by about twenty centimeters. For the eighty-six-meter-tall PX-4, it barely even counted as a scratch.
The PX-4 looked down at him with scrutiny and disappointment, as if watching a frog kick its legs in a futile struggle. It raised its right arm once more, balling its five fingers into a fist.
There was no flashy technique to it. It was sheer mass, combined with the terrifying kinetic energy provided by its three engines. Another straightforward, unadorned straight punch. The fist tore through the air, whipping up a visible white ring of a sonic boom.
Baroque had absolutely no time to dodge. All he could do was hold his Battle Blade across his chest and frantically channel his Evil Energy Protection.
BANG!
The Evil Barrier around Baroque’s body shattered instantly like an eggshell. The Battle Blade bent at a grotesque angle, and that black iron fist smashed solidly into the dead center of Baroque’s chest.
CRACK CRACK...
The sound of bones fracturing was as dense as a string of popping firecrackers. Baroque violently spewed a massive mouthful of green Demon Blood, and his thirty-meter-tall body was launched backward once more like a cannonball.
Allen looked at the distant cloud of dust and felt profoundly disappointed. His opponent’s power was unrefined, his energy application was crude, and he didn’t even possess his own Law.
"So he’s just a mass-produced knockoff."
