Chapter 630: Chapter 409: Fierce Showdown! [Double-Length, Please Vote!]
"Which underling!?"
Feng Jiancun pressed him again, eyes razor sharp, looking like he was ready to smash the pot just to get to the bottom of it.
Chen Erliang’s face was as dark as it could get, and at the same time he realized something was off.
The other side ignored him.
Instead, his gaze swept over the crew of lackeys standing to the side.
"Which one of you couldn’t keep his dick in his pants!?"
Feng Jiancun fixed his eyes on a nondescript guy, his stare turning vicious. "You!?"
The guy’s heart jolted, he shrank his neck back and didn’t say a word.
Feng Jiancun turned to another of Chen’s thugs.
"Or you!?"
That guy’s insides tightened as well; he swallowed hard.
In the end, Feng Jiancun set his eyes on Scorpion, his tone turning nasty:
"Surely it’s not you, Scorpion."
"If it really is... then I can only do your big brother a favor and..."
Chen Erliang suddenly exploded, shooting to his feet, locking eyes with him, voice cold and grim. "Enough!"
His voice was loud, cutting Feng Jiancun off mid-sentence.
"Uncle Feng, I’ll keep my own people in line."
Chen Erliang drew in a deep breath, forcing his tone to level out.
"I came to you this time to talk about how we deal with Yangzhou City, and about dumping the product in the future."
"Not to watch you strut around and show off in front of my men!"
As his words fell, the ancestral hall instantly turned electric, tension drawn tight like blades; a chill of killing intent spread through the air.
The two sides’ crews eyed each other warily, like the slightest extra movement from the other side would set off a brawl.
"Talk? Fine, then let’s talk!"
Feng Jiancun nodded, then stopped being polite. He set his teacup down without a shred of hesitation and said:
"To make sure this kind of shit doesn’t happen again..."
"Your product... the disposal rights are handed over to me, full control."
"Channels, sales, pricing—you don’t need to ask. Boss Chen just waits for the money to roll in, that’s all."
"Candy Factory will be taken over by Feng Village later on. As for the synthesis formula... you don’t need to worry about that either."
Leave everything to the other side?
In that instant.
Chen Erliang’s face changed; his teacup slammed against the table, tea splashing all over it. His gaze turned razor sharp.
"You want the formula? No way!"
Wants the formula?
How the hell could he hand that over!?
You have to know, compared to ordinary people who fixate on the "dealer," the folks inside the drug world care more about the "talent" the other side has.
What’s "talent"?
It’s the people dedicated to researching high-purity product for you!
Chen Erliang came out of the Golden Triangle; the only reason he dared swagger around on Feng Jiancun’s turf was that the stuff in his head was valuable enough!
And now, the guy wanted to take it all away without paying a damn thing...
"Then you might as well just kill me!"
Chen Erliang’s tone grew even frostier, then suddenly softened.
"This mess started because of me, so I’ll take a step back."
"We can renegotiate the profit split. As for the exact cut... you name a number first."
Feng Jiancun went on: "I only want Candy Factory!"
"Yangzhou City is already on alert. I’m sure it won’t be long before the cops start throwing serious resources into a deep investigation!"
"When that happens, once they trace it all out, neither of us is getting away!"
"Even if we get lucky and dodge this round... what about next time?"
Chen Erliang spoke up: "There won’t be a next time."
As those five words dropped, the other guy’s reply came almost instantly.
"But I don’t trust your men!"
Feng Jiancun’s roar was deafening; he stared straight at Chen.
As the words landed.
The whole ancestral hall sank back into dead silence.
The two locked eyes, their shadowed gazes colliding.
"So there’s nothing to talk about then?" Chen Erliang suddenly said.
"I hope after Boss Chen goes back... you can think it over carefully."
Feng Jiancun had lost any interest in continuing the discussion.
He looked at Feng Dong at his side, picked up his teacup and waved.
"Feng Dong, see our guests out."
Chen Erliang had wanted to say more, but just as he opened his mouth, a figure blocked his way. It was that young man called Feng Dong.
Right then, an unreadable glint flashed in Feng Dong’s eyes. He looked at Chen Erliang and spoke in a low voice:
"Boss Chen, dawn is coming soon. It’s not a good idea for you to stay much longer."
Chen Erliang hesitated, then finally took a deep breath.
"Boss Feng, you’re going to regret this!"
He threw that line out.
Then stood up and walked off.
Scorpion and the others also shot Feng Jiancun a vicious glare, then quickly followed.
"Da-da-da..."
The dense sound of footsteps echoed through the ancestral hall, then vanished in a flash.
The main hall that had been a bit crowded just moments ago now held only a handful of people, seeming unusually empty and cold.
Watching their backs as they left...
Feng Jiancun’s eyes flickered. He lifted the now-cold tea and drained it in one gulp.
’This ticking time bomb... has to be defused!’
...
"Heh, Uncle Feng sure knows how to throw his weight around. No wonder he can play king of the hill in Yangzhou City!"
Outside the ancestral hall
Chen Erliang and his men were slowly walking toward the parking area, sneering at Feng Dong beside them.
"Heh, Brother Chen, don’t hold it against him."
Feng Dong, walking alongside them, wore a fawning smile.
"Uncle Feng clawed his way up by eating other gangs alive. But a few years ago Eastern Country’s government launched a big crackdown on organized crime, almost drove him to his grave. So... his temper’s gotten a bit more cautious since then."
Eastern Country hasn’t exactly been peaceful since it was founded; the street culture among the people is insanely fierce.
In the ’60s there were countless bandits and highway robbers; the military even had to lead teams out to wipe them out.
The ’70s and ’80s were just as wild, all kinds of gang bosses swaggering around the countryside.
The ’90s were when this crowd hit their peak.
Until the authorities started targeting this whole atmosphere nationwide, these people finally tasted the iron fist and gradually gave way to the harmony of ’25 and ’26 in later years.
And Feng Jiancun had just recently felt the aftershock of that iron fist, which is why he’s jumpy as hell now, spooked by his own shadow.
"Heh, if that’s how he is... it’s going to be hard for him to pull off anything big!"
