Suddenly, a familiar man appeared. He walked with a steady military gait, but his dark green figure looked a little lonely.

“Chen…”

Lu Zhaoyang pursed her lips and clutched tightly onto her pocket watch as she watched him leave.

Night came. The crescent moon hung solitary in the sky.

She turned and pulled the curtains behind her. She felt uneasy.

She was on her way to the kitchen when the doorbell rang.

Ring!

Who would be visiting her at this hour?

Lu Zhaoyang slowly walked to the door and saw Huo Yunting’s face through the peephole. He seemed to have a black suitcase with him.

She opened the door, confused. “Why are you here with a suitcase ?”

“You’ll find out soon enough.” Huo Yunting stepped into her apartment smoothly and smiled. “Don’t close the door yet.”

Lu Zhaoyang paused. What did that mean?

“There’s someone else.”

“…” Lu Zhaoyang had a sense of foreboding.

The door was left wide open. She followed Huo Yunting into her bedroom. She watched as he opened the suitcase, took out his clothes, and began to hang them in her wardrobe.

“No, take your things away!” She pushed his suitcase close and looked up at him. “Have you forgotten why I moved out?”

“I don’t know why you moved out. That was you, not me. However…” He bent down closer to her. “Since you refuse to move back, I will have to sacrifice myself and move over here.”

After what happened today, the only he could ensure her safety was to stay with her at all times.

Lu Zhaoyang was about to object when Huo Li interrupted from outside. “Brother Ting, your things are here!”

She stood up in surprise and quickly ran to the door. Huo Li was carrying four other large luggage bags with him. She stared at him in disbelief.

“Sister-in-law, long time no see. You’re even more beautiful than I remember!” Huo Li grinned widely and made sure to push the bags across the door frame into her apartment.

“Hah! Hah!” Lu Zhaoyang laughed mockingly.

Lu Zhaoyang glared at him that made him feel terribly awkward. He quickly stepped out of the house and closed the door behind him.

After some moments of internal struggle, Lu Zhaoyang finally accepted the reason for Huo Yunting’s plan.

She turned around and saw the man in question leaning against the wall, wearing a white shirt. “Go unpack your things yourself. I haven’t had dinner yet.”

Today was an emotional roller coaster ride for her. There was nothing she could do to avoid the current situation, so she had to accept it.

She opened her fridge and looked at the ingredients. There was a rustling sound of the man unpacking in her room. She stood in front of her fridge and stared blankly, lost in her thoughts.
