Chapter 4029: The Next Stop: Core Court!

Chapter 4029: The Next Stop: Core Court!

With the Justice Crushing Cestus finally secured, however, Lin Mu had accomplished what he needed here. There was another matter waiting for him. A far more immediate one.

Zhenyu turned toward High Elder Palm Saber. "Now then, are you willing to come with me?"

High Elder Palm Saber narrowed his eyes slightly. "Where?"

Zhenyu smiled. "To free High Elder Shatter Peak."

For a moment, the entire Forbidden Relic Storage became silent. Then several Wild Peak disciples visibly brightened.

High Elder Palm Saber’s expression changed immediately. "You’re going now?"

"Why wait?" Zhenyu replied casually. "We’ve already wasted enough time."

High Elder Palm Saber looked toward the other elders but there was hardly any need to ask them.

"We’re coming."

"Of course we’re coming!"

"High Elder Shatter Peak has been imprisoned long enough."

Even the disciples seemed ready to follow them all the way into the Core Court if permitted.

Zhenyu nodded. "Good."

With that decided, the group finally left the Forbidden Relic Storage. The ancient entrance closed behind them once everyone had crossed through, layers of formations awakening one after another until the chamber vanished from sight once more.

They returned through the Wild Peak and headed toward its Teleportation Array. Word had already begun spreading among the disciples. Zhenyu Mengli had entered the Forbidden Relic Storage.

He had taken the Justice Crushing Cestus, and now he was heading directly toward the Core Court. It didn’t take much imagination for the Wild Peak cultivators to guess why. High Elder Shatter Peak was still imprisoned within the main prison of the Law Division.

Lin Mu had already confirmed that much.

By now, the Head of the Law Division was likely learning the full extent of Taegong’s actions. That revelation would certainly complicate matters, especially once the Law Division began investigating everything that had occurred.

Still, Shatter Peak’s situation was separate.

Whatever Taegong had done, High Elder Shatter Peak had indeed broken sect laws. He had violated discipline and acted in ways that gave the Law Division legitimate grounds to imprison him.

Even after Taegong’s crimes came to light, those violations wouldn’t simply disappear.

Under ordinary circumstances, there would be hearings, deliberations, investigations and arguments between the divisions. Shatter Peak might eventually be released, though there was no telling how long the process would take.

Lin Mu had no intention of waiting for that.

The Teleportation Array activated.

SHUA

Spatial fluctuations surrounded the group before the Wild Peak disappeared. A short while later, they arrived at the Core Court. The atmosphere here was completely different.

Disciples moved between enormous halls and towering structures while elders traveled through the skies above. Formation lights flickered between distant buildings, and several floating platforms crossed overhead carrying materials and personnel.

The arrival of a group from the Wild Peak drew a few glances. Then Zhenyu stepped out of the Teleportation Array. He looked toward the distant section of the Core Court where the Law Division stood.

High Elder Palm Saber stepped out behind him, followed by the other Wild Peak elders. Several nearby disciples stopped as they recognized High Elder Palm Saber immediately.

That alone would have attracted attention. Zhenyu, however, had no intention of slipping quietly through the Core Court. He took a single step and his body rose into the air. The others followed.

Then Zhenyu released his aura.

There was no gradual increase this time and his presence erupted across the Core Court in a single overwhelming wave.

HONG LONG

The air trembled as clouds overhead shifted. Several flying disciples instinctively stopped in midair as the pressure washed across them. Elders inside nearby halls raised their heads. Formation masters paused in their work. Cultivators meditating within secluded chambers opened their eyes.

The aura continued spreading and several kilometers of the Core Court felt it. Zhenyu made no attempt to conceal himself. It was quite the opposite in fact. This was an announcement. He wanted the Core Court to know that Zhenyu Mengli had arrived.

High Elder Palm Saber stared at the man’s back and couldn’t suppress the grin slowly appearing on his face. The other Wild Peak elders understood as well. They weren’t sneaking into the Law Division. They weren’t requesting a private meeting.

They were going straight to its prison, and Zhenyu was giving everyone enough warning to watch him do it. Across the Core Court, powerful auras began awakening in response. Lin Mu sensed them one after another.

Some carried confusion, others carried caution, and several were already moving toward them.

Zhenyu simply smiled and flew toward the Law Division.

"Come," he said.

High Elder Palm Saber followed without hesitation while behind them, the Wild Peak elders surged into the sky. And ahead, the great formations surrounding the Law Division began to light up.

Zhenyu flew across the Core Court without slowing, and High Elder Palm Saber followed closely behind him along with the other elders of the Wild Peak. There was little need to ask for directions.

Lin Mu had already learned where the Law Division was located, and even without that knowledge, it would have been rather difficult to mistake it for any other division once they drew close.

The difference became apparent from several kilometers away. Compared to many of the other divisions of the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect, the territory controlled by the Law Division looked almost painfully plain.

Large stone buildings dotted the landscape, interspersed with structures made from dark and sturdy wood. Wide paths connected every major building in clean, straight lines, while bridges crossed the occasional gaps between elevated sections of land.

Everything seemed to have been constructed with efficiency in mind. There were no ornamental gardens filled with Immortal herbs, no elegant ponds, no artificial streams winding between buildings, and no sculptures made by famous craftsmen.

Even the trees that grew within the division’s territory seemed to have been planted according to some carefully calculated spacing involving arrays. It suited the Law Division perfectly as everything had a purpose and everything had a place.

And judging by the cultivators standing in organized groups throughout the division, everyone had apparently been told exactly where they were supposed to stand too. Lin Mu almost found it amusing.
