Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 3870: No Hidden Secrets

Chapter 3870: No Hidden Secrets

Lin Mu closed his eyes and his breathing slowed. And when he opened them Spatial Perception activated.

The world changed as the physical environment faded from Lin Mu’s awareness. Now he perceived the Spatial Fabric. Everything existed against it. Energy created disturbances. And powerful formations distorted it.

Spatial pockets appeared like irregular folds and hidden dimensions produced obvious abnormalities. This was precisely why Lin Mu valued his Spatial Perception so highly. A vault hidden using ordinary formations might escape Immortal Sense.

But it was far harder to hide something from space itself. Lin Mu looked toward the Rain Dragon Lake, then he froze.

His brows furrowed. "What?"

He focused but nothing changed. Lin Mu adjusted his perception but still detected nothing.

"This doesn’t make sense."

Xukong became alert. "What do you see?"

Lin Mu remained silent for several seconds. "Nothing."

"Blocked?"

"No." Lin Mu stared at the lake. "My sight isn’t blocked."

There was no spatial barrier, or formation disrupting his perception. There wasn’t even any distorted space, hinting at a spatial pocket hidden there. Lin Mu could see the Spatial Fabric perfectly.

And that was the problem. There was nothing else, energy, Dao traces, formation fluctuations and no strange spatial disturbances. The vast Rain Dragon Lake appeared as a blank region against the Spatial Fabric.

Lin Mu’s expression became serious. "If there was anything down there, I should see it."

Even a simple Immortal Stone produced a faint presence. A powerful beast would shine like a blazing flame. The lingering energy of a True Dragon should have been impossible to miss. Yet the Rain Dragon Lake showed nothing.

Lin Mu stared into the churning dark waters. "There’s really nothing down there."

The waves continued rolling as another water spout erupted in the distance. The dark clouds rumbled overhead, and the lake looked alive, but through Spatial Perception, it was completely empty.

Lin Mu slowly narrowed his eyes. "Now that’s strange."

Lin Mu continued staring into the Rain Dragon Lake with his Spatial Perception active, hoping that perhaps he had simply overlooked something during his first observation.

He shifted his position several times and even walked along the shore for a few kilometers, checking the lake from different angles. The Spatial Fabric remained perfectly visible to him, and there was no barrier or strange distortion preventing his sight from reaching deeper.

Yet there was still nothing and the entire lake remained blank. Lin Mu finally deactivated his Spatial Perception and rubbed his chin, feeling increasingly curious about the strange forbidden zone.

"Maybe I should just go inside." Lin Mu muttered.

Xukong did not immediately respond.

Lin Mu looked at the churning water before him. Massive waves continued rolling across the surface, while another water spout rose several kilometers away and twisted into the dark clouds.

The sight would have been enough to scare most cultivators away, especially after seeing the warning boards placed around the region. But Lin Mu had entered places far more dangerous than this.

"Perhaps there’s something so mystical that even my Spatial Perception can’t detect it." Lin Mu said.

"It is possible." Xukong replied. "Your Spatial Perception is powerful, though you should never assume it is absolute. There are many things in existence that can conceal themselves from space."

Lin Mu nodded and that was enough for him.

He walked directly into the lake. The water quickly rose past his knees, then his waist, and finally his chest. Lin Mu felt the unusual weight of the water immediately. Even moving his arms through it required more strength than ordinary water.

When the lake became deep enough, Lin Mu pushed himself forward and began swimming. The first thing he noticed was his buoyancy. Lin Mu stopped moving for a moment and his body floated.

’It’s so dense that even I’m having some buoyancy.’ Lin Mu thought to himself.

That was quite unusual as Lin Mu’s actual body weight was ridiculous.

After years of body cultivation, countless transformations, and the creation of his unique physique, Lin Mu’s body had become incredibly dense. His bones alone were heavier than those of most beasts several times his size.

If Lin Mu completely released his control over his weight, he would probably weigh several tons.

His cultivation allowed him to adjust his body to a limited extent, and Lin Mu normally maintained his effective weight at a more manageable level. Otherwise, simply walking through ordinary buildings would become annoying.

Wooden floors would crack, furniture would collapse and even ordinary roads might be damaged after prolonged use.

Yet the Rain Dragon Lake was dense enough to support him.

"Interesting." Lin Mu muttered as he took a deep breath and dove.

Holding his breath was no concern for Lin Mu.

Even with his cultivation sealed, his physical body remained extraordinary. His organs had long since transcended mortal limitations, and the amount of oxygen stored within his blood and tissues was immense.

Lin Mu could easily remain without breathing for days. Perhaps even longer if he deliberately slowed his body’s functions. As such, he had no concern about drowning. Lin Mu swam downward and the dark waters quickly swallowed him.

Within a few dozen meters, the light from above almost completely disappeared while Lin Mu continued descending. The resistance increased and at first, he merely noticed that his movements were slightly slower.

After reaching a depth of a hundred meters, Lin Mu had to actively push harder. At two hundred meters, the difference became obvious as the water pressed against his body from every direction.

Lin Mu kept swimming and reached three hundred meters. He was at the approximate depth where his Immortal Sense had stopped earlier.

’So this is why.’ Lin Mu moved his arm.

The water resisted him and it felt significantly thicker than before. The strange density of the Rain Dragon Lake was increasing with depth. Lin Mu continued downward, four hundred meters and then five hundred meters.

By this point, swimming had become genuinely annoying. Lin Mu pushed his arms through the water and the movement felt sluggish.

’No wonder my Immortal Sense couldn’t go deeper. The density at three hundred meters was enough to stop it. And now that I’m five hundred meters deep, it’s even greater.’

Lin Mu moved his hand again and realized the sensation reminded him less of water now.

’It’s almost like syrup.’ Lin Mu frowned.
