Chapter 3837: Effective Organization

Chapter 3837: Effective Organization

Lin Mu had seen many body cultivators following this dual approach before. Yet the Wild Peak seemed different. From everyone he had observed so far, almost all of them appeared to be pure body cultivators.

Lin Mu had not sensed any significant Qi cultivation from them. Even the elders seemed to rely entirely upon their vitality and physical bodies.

’Maybe there are some dual cultivators here,’ Lin Mu thought. ’I just haven’t seen them yet.’

The Man Peak probably had more.

From what the elders had explained during his recruitment, the Man Peak followed structured training methods and standardized cultivation paths. It would make sense for them to teach their disciples basic Qi cultivation alongside body cultivation.

The Wild Peak apparently had other ideas.

’Why learn to fly properly when you can jump a thousand meters and turn yourself into a projectile?’ Lin Mu thought.

Xukong laughed within his mind. "You seem to be understanding their philosophy rather quickly."

"I’ve spent two days here."

"Exactly."

Lin Mu looked at the floating platforms again. "They probably added these because half the disciples couldn’t reach the upper shelves."

"Or because they tried jumping."

Lin Mu paused and looked toward the ceiling. Then toward the shelves.

"...That might actually be the real reason."

He could easily imagine a Wild Peak disciple trying to leap toward a book located four hundred meters above, missing the shelf, and crashing through several others on the way down.

Considering the temperament of the people here, it had probably happened more than once. The floating platforms suddenly seemed less like a convenience and more like a necessary safety measure for the library itself.

Lin Mu continued deeper and soon another thing quickly caught his attention. The medium used to store information was remarkably diverse. Books and jade slips were expected. Scrolls were common too.

Yet Lin Mu saw entire sections filled with stone tablets.

Some were small enough to hold in one hand, while others were several meters tall. A few were massive slabs of rock weighing thousands of kilograms. Words had been carved directly into their surfaces, along with diagrams depicting various body cultivation movements.

There were stone pillars as well.

One section contained hundreds of pillars arranged in neat rows. Each pillar was covered from top to bottom in densely packed characters. Some even had human figures carved into them, displaying different stances and muscle movements.

Lin Mu approached one of the pillars curiously. The carving depicted a man standing with his feet spread wide while holding both arms above his head. Several lines had been drawn across the man’s body.

’Vitality circulation routes,’ Lin Mu immediately recognized.

Unlike Qi cultivation manuals that displayed meridians and acupoints, body cultivation techniques often focused upon muscles, bones, organs, and blood vessels. The stone pillar showed how vitality should circulate through the shoulders and spine during a particular movement.

Lin Mu read the title.

"Mountain Carrying Posture."

He raised his brows. It was a relatively simple body tempering exercise. Yet the method recorded upon the stone pillar was surprisingly detailed.

’Interesting.’ Lin Mu moved toward another section.

Here he found bone tablets. The bones were clearly from immortal beasts, with some being several meters long. Characters had been engraved directly into their surfaces. Another section contained metal sheets.

Farther away, Lin Mu even spotted several enormous beast hides hanging from the walls. The entire library felt strangely ancient.

Lin Mu had visited many modern sect libraries where almost everything was recorded within jade slips. Jade slips were convenient, compact, and could store enormous amounts of information.

The Wild Peak seemed to preserve information in whatever form it had originally been recorded. If a technique had been carved upon a stone tablet, the stone tablet remained. If an inheritance was written upon a beast hide, the beast hide was preserved.

If someone had scratched their cultivation insights into a cave wall, Lin Mu suspected the Wild Peak might simply cut the entire wall out and bring it here. But then he saw a suspiciously uneven piece of rock and was sure that they had done exactly that.

"This place is rather unique," Lin Mu muttered.

He continued wandering through the library with genuine curiosity. For once, Little Bull’s childlike behavior required almost no acting. Lin Mu looked around openly, occasionally stopping before strange tablets and pillars.

Anyone watching him would simply see a young man fascinated by the enormous library. What they would not know was that Lin Mu was silently analyzing everything he saw. The library seemed chaotic at first.

Yet after walking through several sections, Lin Mu noticed something unexpected.

There was a form of organization.

Actual organization.

Small symbols had been carved into the shelves. Numbers marked different rows. The platforms had destination labels. Even the stone tablets were separated according to their contents.

"That’s surprising," Lin Mu muttered.

He examined a nearby shelf. The books stored there were all related to skin tempering. Another section contained bone tempering methods. Farther away were blood cultivation techniques.

There were separate areas for organs, muscles, tendons, marrow, and vitality control. The classifications became increasingly specific the deeper Lin Mu looked.

"This is far more organized than I expected."

Xukong hummed thoughtfully. "Perhaps someone realized that allowing the Wild Peak disciples to organize their own library would end disastrously."

Lin Mu imagined High Elder Shatter Peak throwing cultivation manuals into random piles. "...Probably."

Still, even with the indexing system, the library was simply too large.

Lin Mu looked around. "There should be a central array to check everything, right?"

He hoped there was. Otherwise, finding a specific technique would take days without being able to use his immortal sense. Lin Mu continued walking while looking for any kind of information formation.

After several minutes, he finally found one. It was remarkably simple. A waist high stone pedestal stood in the middle of an open area. Upon the pedestal rested a smooth piece of white jade.

There were no words and no instructions, only a hand shaped imprint carved into the jade.

Lin Mu stared at it. "Even Little Bull can understand that."
