Chapter 3758: Honey God Village

Chapter 3758: Honey God Village

Now Lin Mu was truly interested.

Such cases rarely happened without a reason.

There was almost always something hidden beneath the surface, whether it be a bloodline, physique or a dormant inheritance.

There would be some unique opportunity.

Lin Mu leaned back thoughtfully.

A missing orphan with mysterious strength, living in the same village where Elder He Jian currently resided.

The timing felt almost too convenient.

Yet after weeks of searching, this was easily the most promising lead they had discovered.

Ashy could see the interest in his eyes.

The bird immediately became excited again.

"So?"

"What do you think?"

Lin Mu stood up.

His gaze turned toward the distant direction of Honey God Village.

For the first time in weeks, genuine anticipation appeared within him.

"I think," Lin Mu said slowly, "we need to visit where this Little Bull lived."

Ashy’s feathers immediately puffed up proudly.

She had a feeling her greatest discovery yet had finally arrived.

Lin Mu immediately set out for Honey God Village.

With the elder drawing ever closer and time running short, there was little reason to delay. If Ashy’s investigation proved correct, this Little Bull might be the opportunity they had spent over a month searching for.

Even if the man ultimately proved unsuitable, Lin Mu needed to verify it himself rather than relying solely on secondhand accounts.

The group traveling this time consisted only of Lin Mu, Ashy, Xiao Yin and Xiao Yang. Little Shrubby remained within the Sleepscape for the moment. The distance was not large enough for Lin Mu to need his speed anyways.

And while the beast could certainly help, his appearance attracted attention far too easily. Even in his cat form, people found him impossible to ignore. Children would chase after him, merchants would try feeding him, and women would attempt to carry him away.

Lin Mu had learned long ago that there was no stealth when Shrubby was involved.

The twins and Ashy were different.

All three could conceal themselves perfectly.

The two snakes often vanished entirely from sight while Ashy could hide in shadows that seemed far too small to contain her.

As they traveled through the countryside, Ashy continued sharing everything she had learned about the village.

The Holy Chrysalis World was largely peaceful compared to many other immortal worlds. While sects and cultivators existed everywhere, ordinary people still formed the overwhelming majority of the population. Villages and farming settlements stretched across the countryside and many of them had existed for thousands of years.

Honey God Village was one such settlement.

According to local records, it had been established nearly a millennium ago and its name came from a particular immortal beast that had once lived there.

The Golden Immortal Honey Bee.

When Ashy first mentioned the creature, Lin Mu had expected some powerful immortal beast that ruled the area through fear.

The reality turned out to be entirely different.

The Golden Immortal Honey Bee had been beloved.

The beast apparently possessed a naturally gentle temperament and had lived alongside the villagers for centuries. It gathered nectar from spirit flowers across the surrounding forests and produced a unique honey rich with spirit qi.

The honey could strengthen the body, nourish cultivation and it could even heal certain injuries. For ordinary mortals and low level cultivators, it was an invaluable treasure.

Over time the villagers learned to care for the bee colonies descended from the queen and their livelihoods became tied to honey production. The village prospered and several generations lived comfortably because of it.

Unfortunately that prosperity did not last forever.

Nearly a hundred years ago the queen bee attempted to break through. It had already reached the immortal realm and sought to advance further. But the tribulation that descended upon it turned out to be a Fire Elemental Immortal Tribulation.

The outcome was disastrous and the queen failed. The forest where the bee colonies lived was consumed by flames. And when the queen died, most of her descendants perished alongside her.

By the time the fire finally ended, little remained. Only a handful of ordinary spirit honey bees survived and the immortal lineage vanished.

Since then Honey God Village had gradually transformed.

The villagers still raised bees and still harvested honey, but their primary source of livelihood became agriculture. Fields replaced forests and farms replaced apiaries while their life continued.

Even so, memories of the queen bee remained strong.

Ashy explained that the villagers still maintained shrines dedicated to the Golden Immortal Honey Bee. Many families offered prayers there regularly. Some genuinely believed another queen might someday emerge among the remaining bee colonies.

Others simply wished to honor the creature that had supported their ancestors.

Lin Mu found the story somewhat touching.

Immortal beasts and humans often clashed throughout the cultivation world. Finding a place where both sides had lived together peacefully for centuries was rare. As they traveled, Ashy gradually shifted the topic toward Little Bull himself.

The more Lin Mu heard, the stranger the young man sounded.

"He really was abandoned?" Lin Mu asked.

Ashy nodded.

"That’s what everyone says."

She landed on Lin Mu’s shoulder before continuing.

"Twenty years ago he just appeared at the village gate and nobody knew where he came from. He didn’t know either."

Lin Mu frowned slightly.

No memories.

No family.

No origin.

That alone was suspicious.

"How old was he?"

"A baby."

Ashy spread her wings.

"A few months old maybe. The villagers found him wrapped in blankets."

"No clues."

"No belongings."

"No identifying marks."

Lin Mu silently stored the information away.

Such situations were uncommon.

Not impossible, but uncommon.

Someone had gone through significant effort to leave the child somewhere people would find him.

The mystery only deepened afterward.

As Little Bull grew older, his strength became increasingly absurd.

By the age of five he could move fully loaded carts. By eight he could carry logs that several adults struggled to lift. By ten he could wrestle wild beasts and at twelve he was helping farmers plow fields faster than entire teams of workers.
