Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 3748: Deeper Preparations

Chapter 3748: Deeper Preparations

Hearing Lady Kang’s words, Lin Mu looked betrayed.

But she continued calmly.

"You should practice now."

Lin Mu sighed deeply.

He stored all the books.

He already knew resistance was futile.

Somewhere in his future, he was apparently going to sit and study fictional personalities.

The discussion finally returned to the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect.

Lady Kang enlarged the projection again.

This time the world map shifted.

Several massive structures lit up.

"Vault repositories." she explained.

Lin Mu’s expression became serious again.

Everyone focused.

"There are many of them." Lady Kang continued. "The sect manages resources for an entire world."

The projection expanded further.

Storehouses.

Treasuries.

Armories.

Artifact repositories.

Inheritance halls.

Underground vault networks.

Lin Mu silently memorized everything.

"We cannot ignore the possibility that the sect unknowingly uses the vault." Lady Kang said.

Meng Bai looked surprised.

"You mean openly?"

Lady Kang nodded.

"The information we have comes from an old source."

Everyone fell silent.

Lin Mu himself understood it. What he had seen was just a dream and the dream may have been ancient.

Centuries.

Millennia.

Who knew how much time had passed?

The hidden vault might already be repurposed.

Renovated.

Expanded.

Occupied.

Its appearance may have changed entirely.

Lin Mu committed every location to memory.

Then Lady Kang changed the projection again.

Several regions darkened.

Forbidden zones appeared.

The atmosphere in the room shifted immediately.

"These are restricted regions."

Mountains.

Ancient forests.

Underground ruins.

Isolated valleys.

Sealed lakes.

Spatial distortions.

"Some are sect restricted areas." Lady Kang explained. "Others are natural dangers."

The image zoomed.

One region showed an enormous crater covered in formations. Another contained forests permanently shrouded in mist. One entire mountain range had warning markers.

Meng Bai swallowed.

"There are this many?"

Lady Kang nodded.

"The world is enormous even compared to other Immortal Worlds." Lady Kang said. "Even compared to the Rust Sky World this is nearly two and a half times as big." She added.

Hearing that Meng Bai took a breath.

Then another category appeared.

Sacred Grounds.

Lin Mu focused immediately.

Several locations glowed and unlike normal areas these looked different. Some floated independently. Others existed beyond distorted space.

"These are harder to enter." Lady Kang explained.

"Even disciples require permission."

Lin Mu quietly observed.

Spatial distortions.

Detached regions.

Pocket realms.

Minor worlds.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

For others these might be difficult.

For him...

Perhaps less so.

His spatial skills gave him advantages most people lacked.

Blink.

Phase.

Fade.

Meld.

And now Collapse amplified all of them.

He silently memorized everything.

Lady Kang continued explaining each location.

One sacred ground contained ancient beasts. Another, housed inherited Dao traces. One region preserved historical records. Others served as cultivation lands. A few had no public information at all.

Those were the most suspicious.

Hours passed like this.

Lin Mu absorbed everything.

Maps.

Locations.

Threats.

Potential entrances.

Transport routes.

City divisions.

Resource centers.

By the end his mind was full.

Finally the projection faded.

The room grew quiet.

Meng Bai leaned back tiredly.

"My head hurts..."

Daoist Chu laughed.

"We only looked at the surface."

Meng Bai immediately looked traumatized.

Lin Mu however sat silently.

The Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect...

It was bigger than he expected.

Far bigger.

The infiltration would take time.

And somewhere within all this...

The third ring waited.

He slowly closed his eyes knowing the task ahead had only grown larger.

Yet, strangely enough, he felt excited. And just like that, another month passed within Mantleheim.

Lady Kang’s people remained busy gathering information regarding the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect. Scouts moved through the Eastern Immortal Court, merchants quietly asked questions, old contacts were reopened and more information regarding the wandering recruitment elders slowly trickled in.

While that happened, Lin Mu focused on something entirely different.

Acting.

Or rather, suffering.

The pile of books Cattaleya had given him had turned into a mountain beside his quarters.

Hero stories.

Cultivation legends.

Imperial dramas.

Scholar tales.

Villain chronicles.

Sword heroes.

Romance epics.

Reclusive immortals.

Arrogant young masters.

Tragic geniuses.

He read them all.

For Lin Mu, finishing all the books in one day was easy. His immortal sense and memory made the process trivial. Understanding the characters was the difficult part as he had no idea what kind of identity he would eventually assume.

As such, he had to learn everything.

Lady Kang even joined in.

One day she casually walked in carrying several jade slips.

"These are acting manuals." she said.

Lin Mu blinked.

"Acting manuals?"

Lady Kang nodded.

"The best drama groups in the Immortal Realm use them."

She looked strangely serious.

"They performed for the Great Kang Clan before."

Min Ju even added.

"They are very expensive."

Lin Mu quietly accepted them.

The manuals were surprisingly useful.

There were sections discussing posture, breathing, eye movement, social reactions, emotional projection, speech cadence and even how long one should hold eye contact depending on status.

Lin Mu read all of them.

Then, began practicing.

At first, he simply stood before a mirror.

It failed immediately as he had no reference.

Xukong only laughed.

Lin Mo was worse.

The devil practically rolled on the ground every time Lin Mu attempted an arrogant expression.

"Fatty Mu has become Actor Mu now?" Lin Mo mocked.

Lin Mu ignored him.

Eventually he dragged everyone else into helping.

The first session ended in such a disaster, Elyon decided to help Lin Mu out with some disguise clothing. A minute later Lin Mu appeared. His appearance changed into that of a handsome young noble with narrow eyes and expensive robes.

He folded his fan.

Raised his chin.

Then spoke coldly.

"You dare stand before this young master?"

Silence.

Meng Bai turned around immediately.

His shoulders shook.

Daoist Chu covered his mouth.

Cattaleya fell onto the floor laughing.

Even Elyon pinched the bridge of his nose.

Lin Mu frowned.

"What?"

"You sound like a village elder pretending to be young!" Catt laughed.

Meng Bai finally lost control.

"Master sounds too polite!"

Lin Mu sighed.

Failure.

His next attempt was worse.
