Chapter 2691 Checking The Spoils Of The River Bending Axe Sect Members

Chapter 2691  Checking The Spoils Of The River Bending Axe Sect Members

Soon, Lin Mu's figure became clear.

"That took longer than I expected," Lin Mu remarked as he landed on the ridge.

"How far did you go?" Meng Bai asked curiously.

"About two hundred kilometers," Lin Mu replied casually.

"That far!?" Meng Bai exclaimed in disbelief.

"It'll give us an early warning, which should be more than enough to prepare," Lin Mu said with confidence. "Are you done?"

"Yeah, I finished an hour earlier than before," Meng Bai confirmed.

"Good. If you keep this up, you might be able to bring it down to under an hour later," Lin Mu encouraged.

"That would be great," Meng Bai said excitedly, knowing that faster absorption meant greater strength. And greater strength meant more food.

With their preparations complete, the two settled in, knowing that a new day would bring new challenges.

Lin Mu and Meng Bai watched as the sun rose from the horizon, lighting up the entire sky. The golden rays reflected off the tranquil lake below, casting a shimmering glow across the landscape.

"No wonder people say this is one of the most beautiful places in the region," Meng Bai said, mesmerized. "The sunrise is breathtaking, even if the place is more well-known for its nights."

"Indeed," Lin Mu agreed. "The sunsets should be just as spectacular."

From their vantage point, they had an unobstructed view in all directions, making it an excellent spot for sightseeing. The vast expanse of the forest stretched endlessly before them, the gentle rustling of leaves harmonizing with the distant sound of cascading water from the waterfall.

As they enjoyed the magnificent view, Meng Bai suddenly remembered something.

"Oh, I almost forgot…" he said, drawing Lin Mu's attention.

Lin Mu watched as Meng Bai reached into his pocket and retrieved a few objects.

"We found these back at the courtyard," Meng Bai said, holding them up.

Lin Mu's eyes narrowed as he examined the items.

"Spatial storage tools?" he recognized them instantly.

"This ring belonged to the elder, while the others belonged to the disciples of the River Bending Axe Sect," Meng Bai explained.

"Huh, they must've fallen off their hands during the fight," Lin Mu speculated as he took them.

"Can you open them?" Meng Bai asked eagerly.

"I should be able to," Lin Mu replied. "Give me a bit."

Meng Bai watched as Lin Mu picked up one of the bracelets and began analyzing its intricate arrays. His fingers traced the faint inscriptions, his eyes glowing slightly as he infused a trace of his energy into the object.

It took him about thirty minutes before he successfully cracked the array and removed its seal.

SHUA

The moment the restriction was lifted, the bracelet glowed, and a torrent of items poured out.

THUD THUD THUD THUD

Meng Bai's eyes widened in astonishment as a pile of Immortal Stones formed before him. Alongside them were several weapons, tools, boxes of Immortal Herbs, pill bottles, and various other resources that a cultivator would store.

"S-So many Immortal Stones!" Meng Bai gasped, his voice filled with awe. He had never seen so many in one place before.

Lin Mu, however, remained unimpressed.

"Pretty lacking for an Inner Court disciple," Lin Mu muttered.

Although the sheer quantity seemed impressive at first glance, a closer look revealed that the majority were just low-grade Immortal Stones. There were a few hundred mid-grade Immortal Stones and only a handful of high-grade ones. The weapons and tools were mostly low-grade as well, with only a single mid-grade Immortal Axe standing out among them.

The pills were similarly underwhelming, consisting mostly of common Qi restoration and healing pills. The herbs, while useful, were basic ingredients commonly used for refining lower-tier medicinal concoctions.

"Though…" Lin Mu mused as he sifted through the pile. His fingers brushed against a booklet, a jade slip, and a small token. "These might be more interesting."

Meng Bai leaned over to take a look.

"The River Bending Immortal Technique?" Meng Bai read aloud. His eyes widened in shock. "Isn't this the signature cultivation technique of their sect!?"

"It should be," Lin Mu replied.

He quickly flipped through the hundred-page booklet, scanning its contents with a keen eye.

'A mid-grade cultivation technique… And it's incomplete,' Lin Mu assessed. 'This version is only suitable for Inner Court disciples.'

From what he could tell, the River Bending Immortal Technique could only be cultivated up to the Fourth Tribulation Stage of the Immortal Realm. If someone wished to progress beyond that, they would have to pass an exam and be promoted to Core Disciple status.

"Is it safe for us to keep this?" Meng Bai asked cautiously. "I don't think Immortal Sects appreciate their cultivation techniques being leaked."

"It's our spoils now," Lin Mu said nonchalantly. "Besides, if they wanted to keep it a secret, they shouldn't have come after us."

Meng Bai hesitated, still uncertain about the implications. He had never thought of things that way before.

Meanwhile, Lin Mu examined the jade slip.

It turned out to be a standard communication jade slip, and with a simple wave of his hand, he wiped the imprint of its previous owner. As he accessed its contents, a wealth of information appeared in his mind.

The jade slip contained notes on the River Bending Axe Sect, as well as a list of names that could be contacted through it. Among them, Lin Mu recognized the names of Elder Nui, Core Disciple Jilin Tu, and Inner Court Disciple Chijin Ou.

'The Left Bank Division…' Lin Mu mused, recalling something he had read about the sect before.

Unlike traditional sects that organized their disciples by peaks, the River Bending Axe Sect was divided into three distinct regions:

The Left Bank Division

The Right Bank Division

The Central Ridge Division

The Left and Right Bank Divisions each had their own disciples and elders, while the Central Ridge Division housed the sect's High Elders, the Patriarch, and other high-ranking members. The Core Disciples also resided there.

Lastly, Lin Mu turned his attention to the token.
