Virtual Idol in the Beast World: Five Clans Fight Over Me

Chapter 361 - 323: Do You Really Want Her to Die?

Chapter 361: Chapter 323: Do You Really Want Her to Die?

"It’ll be over in a second."

Wanai grabbed Gu Ning’s hand, about to plunge the syringe into her neck.

Gu Ning couldn’t reason with this Leopard, and she was no match for his strength. In her panic, she grabbed the hand holding the syringe and bit down hard.

Wanai didn’t even frown. Worried she would move and get stabbed in the face, he let go of the syringe, caught it with his other hand, and deftly brushed her hair aside.

The moment Gu Ning sensed his actions and intent, she let go of him. Her adrenaline surged, her reflexes sharpened several times over. She slid downward, and just as Wanai reached for her, she lashed out with a double-footed kick to his face.

Putting three hundred percent of her strength into it so as not to suffer for nothing, she actually kicked Wanai so hard he staggered backward. He had to plant a hand behind him to keep from falling over.

Wanai took a deep breath and lunged for her again.

"I don’t want a shot!" Gu Ning, lying on the floor, thrashed around like a child throwing a tantrum, kicking and rolling wildly. For a moment, Wanai couldn’t even grab her.

"Ning!"

A low voice called out. Philinos was back with the water.

Seeing Gu Ning rolling on the ground, crying and screaming, while Wanai scrambled to catch her, Philinos dropped the water bucket, drew his longsword, and hurled it at Wanai.

Wanai’s ears twitched. He tilted his head, and the longsword grazed his forehead. With a sharp DANG!, the blue blade embedded itself in the metal wall, its body trembling slightly.

A lock of black hair drifted down past Wanai’s eyes.

Philinos’s figure arrived in an instant, his leg sweeping out toward him.

Wanai leaned back just in time to dodge, and Philinos immediately pulled the longsword from the wall and slashed at him.

The shipping container was too small, making it difficult for either of them to fight effectively in close quarters. Without a suitable weapon in hand, Wanai’s dodges were a bit hurried.

Philinos was dead set on killing him now, each strike aimed at a vital point.

Wanai drew the short blade from his waist to parry Philinos’s attacks.

The fight between the two men terrified Gu Ning. She scrambled up from the floor and shouted, "Stop fighting!"

"Bird Team... Philinos!"

Hearing Gu Ning’s call, Philinos’s attack faltered for a second. His longsword flicked Wanai’s dagger aside, the tip slicing diagonally across his shoulder.

Wanai rolled on the ground and felt for his sniper rifle. Just as he was about to pick it up, Philinos’s longsword flew through the air and pierced the stock of the gun.

A vein throbbed on Wanai’s forehead, and a vicious glint appeared in his eyes.

’That’s the second one.’

’That bird has already destroyed his second gun!’

"Ning." Philinos strode to Gu Ning and knelt, carefully checking her from head to toe. "Did he hurt you?"

"No." Gu Ning sighed and showed him the syringe in her hand. "He wanted to help me... give me a shot, but I can’t take it. He doesn’t understand."

Philinos took the medication from her, sniffed it, and smelled the mix of Inhibitor and Healing Agent. He immediately understood what Wanai had been trying to do.

He breathed a slight sigh of relief and calmed down, glancing over at Wanai.

Wanai pulled the sword out of his gun, tossed it aside, and walked to the side to work on his rifle, ignoring the other two.

’Now that this bird is back, she probably won’t resist the shot anymore.’

Unexpectedly, however, the bird tossed the medication back to him.

Only then did Wanai look at them, frowning. "Do you really want her to die?"

Philinos said flatly, "Thanks, but she doesn’t need it."

Wanai stared intently at Gu Ning. She waved her hands frantically. "I really don’t need it. If I use that, my sickness will... it’ll get worse."

Hearing this, Wanai lowered his gaze in thought, then tucked the medication into his pocket. He stood up and asked, "What medicine do you need?"

Gu Ning and Philinos looked at each other.

Just as Philinos was about to speak, Gu Ning grabbed his hand and shook her head at him.

"I don’t need any," Gu Ning said to Wanai. "I can’t use any of those medicines."

Wanai said, "Don’t worry, we’re very close to the 12th District. The nearby hospitals will all stock the medications females need."

"Really, I don’t need them," Gu Ning said helplessly.

’I can’t just tell him I’m not a Beastman, and that I can’t take medicine meant for either males or females.’

Gu Ning shot Philinos a pleading look, shaking her head insistently and whispering, "Bird Team, wait for Alex."

’Only Alex knows what kind of medicine I can take for a fever.’

Philinos, who understood Gu Ning’s true nature, nodded. He slowly said to Wanai, "Her constitution is special. She can’t take just any medicine. Don’t trouble yourself."

Wanai stood in the shadows for a moment, then set down the gun in his hands. He walked to the fire, scooped up some ash, and used it to deal with Gu Ning’s vomit.

Philinos had smelled it too. "You just threw up?" he asked Gu Ning, his voice laced with concern.

Gu Ning nodded, leaning back uncomfortably. She panted, "If my temperature goes down, I’ll be fine."

Seeing her pale lips, the feverish flush on her cheeks, and the way she shivered from time to time, Philinos picked her up and carried her back to the fire.

Wanai had already cleaned the area and had even spread an old blanket on the floor. It smelled musty and dusty, but it was better than lying on the bare ground.

Philinos gently laid Gu Ning down on the blanket, took off his jacket, folded it, and placed it under her head to make her more comfortable.

He wore nothing underneath and was now bare-chested.

Gu Ning glanced over and saw that his abdominal bandage was stained with a trace of blood.

"Bird Team, your wound..."

"It’s nothing." Philinos glanced down. "The wound reopened a little. It’ll heal in a day or two."

As he spoke, he stood up and brought the water bucket over to Gu Ning. Just as he was looking for something to use as a compress, a towel was tossed into the bucket.

Gu Ning and Philinos both stared at the towel in the bucket, then simultaneously looked toward Wanai.

Wanai picked up the pot and walked out, leaving only his back to them.

The moment he left, Gu Ning placed a hand on her forehead and let out a long sigh of relief.

Philinos caught the lingering scent of the Leopard on the towel and really didn’t want to use it on Gu Ning. But right now, there was nothing cleaner available.

He scrubbed the towel vigorously in the bucket before finally placing it on Gu Ning’s forehead.

The cold sensation made her throbbing, muddled head feel slightly better, but this method of cooling her down was too slow. The nearby fire was blazing, and wrapped in her greatcoat, she felt both hot and cold. She had broken out in a sticky, uncomfortable sweat.

"Feeling any better?" Philinos asked softly.

Gu Ning opened her feverish eyes, looked at him for a moment, then took the towel off her forehead and pushed herself up.

Philinos helped her up. "What is it? Are you hungry? Thirsty? Or do you need something else?"

Gu Ning’s voice was hoarse. "Bird Team, could you please... get me some snow."

"Snow?" Gu Ning nodded. "Use something... wrap it up. Make several packs."

"Okay. You lie down, I’ll go get it."

Philinos’s gaze swept the area. He saw Gu Ning’s clothes and his own short-sleeved shirt hanging on a wooden crate. He walked over, picked up his bloody shirt, tore it into four pieces, and packed some snow from the doorway into them for Gu Ning.

When he came back in, he saw that Gu Ning had taken off her coat and was leaning over the bucket, wringing out the towel to wipe herself down.
