Virtual Idol in the Beast World: Five Clans Fight Over Me

Chapter 303 - 271: Did You Miss Me?

Chapter 303: Chapter 271: Did You Miss Me?

Philinos sprang up from the snow, bringing his blade up to shield Gu Ning.

The reflection of Blue Blade glinted in the giant black wolf’s eyes. It neither retreated nor advanced. It glanced at Philinos’s sword, then its gaze settled on Gu Ning.

Gu Ning staggered to her feet and rushed over to grab Philinos’s hand. "Bird Team, don’t fight! It’s Alex!"

Philinos paused and lowered his blade. "I know it’s him."

With that, he smoothly sheathed his blade and turned to grip Gu Ning’s shoulders, looking her up and down. "Are you hurt?"

Gu Ning shook her head and looked toward the Black Wolf.

The Wolf King’s massive head drew near, its snout gently nuzzling her cheek.

"Alex," Gu Ning said, unable to hide her joy as she reached out to stroke his head.

Alex licked her hand, his gaze soft and shimmering as he watched her.

Just then, a warm touch brushed against Gu Ning’s leg. She looked down to see Philinos crouching beside her, his finger hooked into a tear on her left thigh. "Your pants are ripped."

"That cat did this," Gu Ning said.

’Luckily, it only snagged my pants. Otherwise, with claws that sharp, it would’ve torn out a chunk of my flesh for sure.’

"That wasn’t a cat. It was a leopard." After confirming she wasn’t injured, Philinos pinched the torn fabric together. Worried the cold wind would blow in, he tore a strap from his combat suit and tied it around her leg.

’A leopard?’

Gu Ning recalled the leopard’s emerald-green eyes, and something flashed through her mind.

Suddenly, she noticed bright red bloodstains on Philinos’s shoulder and one of his wings.

His combat suit and wings were both white, making the stains stand out starkly in the light.

"Bird Team, you’re hurt!" Gu Ning exclaimed, taking off her scarf to press it against the wound on his shoulder.

"It’s just a scratch." Philinos took her hand, stopping her. He stood up and draped the scarf back around her neck.

Looking at his still-bleeding wing, Gu Ning said worriedly, "We should go back."

"We can’t go back yet," Philinos said, glancing toward the place they’d been staying. "That group is still there."

As he finished speaking, Alex nudged Gu Ning and then lay down in front of her.

Gu Ning understood that Alex wanted to carry them away. She pulled on Philinos’s hand and said, "Bird Team, let’s go."

’We need to find a place to treat his wound first. Alex probably brought some kind of potion for external injuries.’

Philinos said expressionlessly, "I don’t ride wolves. I have my own wings."

A moment later—

Alex was galloping through the snow, carrying Gu Ning and Philinos on his back.

"Just this once," Philinos said from behind Gu Ning.

Gu Ning replied, "Alright, alright."

Half an hour later, Alex stopped in a dimly lit alley.

Philinos helped Gu Ning down from Alex’s back, then scanned their surroundings warily.

Alex, now back in his human form, walked up behind Gu Ning. Looking down at her, he said, "I’ve already rented this building and had people clean it ahead of time."

Hearing his voice, Gu Ning turned to look at him. Two seconds later, she snapped her head back around, simultaneously covering the light from her terminal.

In the darkness, her cheeks were burning.

"You rented it?" Philinos asked, frowning slightly as he took in the wolf scent that permeated the area. "Didn’t the Admiral assign you to another mission?"

’This alpha wolf’s appearance was too sudden; he wasn’t part of our plan at all. Besides, renting an entire building isn’t something you can do in a day or two. It seems he’s been preparing for a while.’

"I am carrying out the mission he assigned me," Alex said.

Philinos’s eyes followed Alex’s gaze to Gu Ning. He then said to Alex, "The Admiral didn’t tell us your mission was the same as ours."

"You should ask him about that." Alex bent down and scooped Gu Ning into his arms. "Let’s go upstairs first."

Gu Ning huddled in Alex’s arms, her shoulders hunched. She didn’t know where to put her hands or where to look.

But even through her own clothes, she could feel Alex’s intense body heat.

In the darkness, Alex could clearly see the flustered look on Gu Ning’s face. The corners of his mouth curved up as he adjusted her slightly higher in his arms.

Before long, he had led Gu Ning and Philinos to the third floor, where he pushed open the door to one of the rooms.

Alex didn’t put Gu Ning down until he had turned on the lights.

Gu Ning shielded her eyes from the sudden brightness, peering at the room through the gaps between her fingers.

’It’s similar to the place I was staying, just without any heating.’

She tried to avert her gaze from the naked, muscular torso beside her, but then she noticed several fresh, red wounds on Alex’s chest, near his shoulder and heart.
