Chapter 277 - 247: Fond of That White-Haired Fox
Chapter 277: Chapter 247: Fond of That White-Haired Fox
I get annoyed just seeing white hair. (cat licking its paw)
I don’t care who you pick, I disapprove! Can’t Yuanbao just have a solo video? Do you really have to add that... *thing*?
Gu Demiao Ning, why didn’t you pick me? My popularity is number one in accumulated paw-clicks. Didn’t you get all those invitations Shengyang sent you? Check your DMs. If you’ll collaborate, the price is negotiable.
Oh, look, Forest showed up. *Takes a screenshot.*
Yeah, why not pick Forest? At least he’s easier on the eyes.
Hey, person above me, if you think he’s so easy on the eyes, why don’t *you* go make a video with him? Who gave you the right to approve him?
Exactly! No matter how popular he is, he’s just a lump of crap standing next to Yuanbao.
Who the hell thinks that bear is good-looking? (puking emoji)
Forest, is it? You just wait. As soon as I’m done DMing insults to those two, you’re next.
I don’t care how popular you are! Anyone who covets Yuanbao can get lost!
Forest:
Don’t just hide in DMs running your mouth. If you’ve got the guts, fight me in person.
A bunch of morons who only talk trash online. In real life, you wouldn’t even last one punch from me.
Looking at your accounts, you’re all from either the Central District or the Lower District. You probably don’t even have what it takes to get into Zone 3.
With my popularity, I’m a better match for Yuanbao than Idelos. (Attachment: Photoshopped picture with Yuanbao)
Instantly, his comment was pushed to the very top. Within minutes, a skyscraper of a thread with thousands of replies had formed, all of them roasting him alive.
I was wondering why this bear had so much nerve. Turns out he’s even more shameless than Idelos.
Admins, ban him already! Take down that photo, AHHH! It’s even more disgusting than Idelos’s photoshop!
I was a fan, but now I’m an anti. From now on, I’m flaming you on sight.
You think there are no Beastmen left in Zone 3? You’d better be at Shengyang Company right now, because I’m on my way. Don’t you dare refuse to open the door.
Another one from Zone 3 here, I’m heading out now.
You won’t come out? Fine, I’ll go tear down Shengyang’s main gate myself.
...
The ceaselessly refreshing comments and the screen-filling, rainbow-colored poop emojis were making Gu Ning’s eyes glaze over.
The comments were refreshing so fast that her screen was constantly flickering. The level of discussion was higher than any of her previous videos.
It wasn’t just her and Idelos’s collaboration. Deviant had also bought a front-page promotion. Add to that, most Beastmen were idle during this season, and the video was free. It was a perfect storm. In less than a day since its release, the mere ten-second video’s click count and concurrent viewership were already approaching the top ten on the all-time cumulative chart.
Seeing that all the comments were cursing her out, Gu Ning had a bad feeling.
Her previous videos had their share of aggressive Beastmen who would curse her out daily, but they were a minority. No matter how vicious the insults got, other Beastmen would defend her, so things were generally harmonious.
But now, it was a flood of insults aimed at her and Idelos.
She checked the comments under other virtual females’ posts, and none of them were being flamed this viciously.
A few insults were harmless, but when these Beastmen talked about fighting in person, they meant it.
Following this trend, she started to worry that some Beastman might actually track her down.
Usually, when she posted videos on her own account, she could maintain a balance. But since she wasn’t the one who posted this video, she couldn’t intervene.
Gu Ning glanced at the account that posted the video. It was Idelos’s. She immediately went into the backend, and just as she was about to contact Idelos, a "THUD! THUD! THUD!" came from her bedroom door.
Gu Ning stared toward the bedroom, stunned for a couple of seconds. Then she remembered the little fox was still locked inside and got up to walk toward the bedroom.
Just then, Minoz, who was locked in the bedroom, tried to ram the door again. But this time, he hit empty air and tumbled out, crashing headfirst into Gu Ning’s arms.
The impact sent Gu Ning falling to the floor, where she landed in a sitting position.
Minoz struggled in her arms for a moment. He smelled the mix of various male scents on her and spat a few times in disgust inside his head. Suddenly, a strange, beast-luring fragrance wafted into his nostrils.
Catching a whiff of this faint scent, Minoz froze. ’What is that smell?’
His nose instinctively burrowed into Gu Ning’s clothes, sniffing her scent. Soon, his clever little head figured out the source of the fragrance. He scrambled out of her arms in a panic and retreated to the wall, watching her with a wary and defensive look.
Seeing how scared the little fox seemed to be of her, Gu Ning wrote a note and held it out for him to see: "Don’t worry, I won’t hit you."
The little fox’s gaze shifted between the note and her before he gave a hesitant nod.
Gu Ning flipped the note over and wrote: "I’ll untie you. Behave if you don’t want to get hit."
The little fox nodded obediently.
Gu Ning saw his eyes darting back and forth—he clearly couldn’t hide his intentions. She smiled and started by untying the binding around his muzzle.
As she reached out, Minoz instinctively flinched back. But he also wanted to be untied, so he cautiously and warily stretched his head forward.
Gu Ning found his behavior a little strange. He didn’t seem like the type to be afraid of a Dwarf hybrid, and she hadn’t attacked him. ’Why is he so terrified of me?’
Experience, however, soon led her to the same conclusion the little fox had reached.
