Chapter 275 - 247: Likes That White-Haired Fox
Chapter 275: Chapter 247: Likes That White-Haired Fox
"Mr. Gu Li, do you have any feedback on my proposal?"
Deviant put down the proposal, took a sip of coffee, and swiveled his chair to face the floor-to-ceiling window, waiting for the fox on the other end of the communication to speak.
"I have a lot of feedback. Your plans are shit." Gu Li’s impatient voice came from the terminal.
The corner of Deviant’s mouth twitched slightly. "Mr. Gu Li, I sent every draft to both you and Mr. Gu Demiao Ning for review. It’s frustrating when you don’t reply. I had no choice but to pick one and move forward with the promotion."
Hearing Deviant’s voice, Gu Ning glanced at Barto’s terminal and perked up her ears.
Barto caught the faint, elusive scent on Gu Ning, averted his face, and forced himself to focus on the conversation with Deviant.
"What’s your hurry?" Barto said. "Didn’t I tell you we’d be busy for the next half-month and wouldn’t have time to look at your garbage proposals? Take that dogshit video down now."
If he hadn’t just been dealing with the little fox selling fake Gu Ning autographs, he wouldn’t have even known that Deviant had already taken the "Yuanbao" authorization and so quickly made a promotional video with Idelos.
After watching the video, he had been so angry he’d sent Deviant a message chewing him out, which is why Deviant had called him.
They had only signed the contract a few days ago. He and Gu Ning had no signal while traveling, and since they hadn’t settled down in Zone 5 yet, it wasn’t a good time to formally handle work matters.
Barto had prepared for this situation in advance, telling Deviant they would put their work on the agenda after half a month.
But as soon as Deviant got the Yuanbao authorization, he had been working nonstop on a new plan for Idelos.
’This guy’s got quite a temper,’ Deviant thought to himself. ’So what if he has a female household registration? What’s there to be arrogant about! With that stinking attitude, he’ll probably get dumped by a female one of these days.’
"Mr. Gu Li, we do have a signed contract." Deviant had been in this business for years and had met all kinds of Beastmen, so he could tolerate this stinky fox. He told him calmly, "Besides, I just edited some footage from Yuanbao’s old videos and made a separate video with Idelos for work-related promotion."
"I know you’re busy, but our work can’t just stop. You can be dissatisfied with my proposal, and we can certainly discuss our future cooperation, but you can’t interfere with our normal operations. We haven’t violated the terms of the contract."
Deviant said good-naturedly, "And according to the contract, you’re supposed to cooperate with our promotional work. I understand that you have things to deal with and can’t work right now, so we’ll just take full responsibility for this promotion."
He made his case flawlessly, but Barto wasn’t buying it at all. "I already told you, the video you released is shit. If you want this to be a long-term partnership, take that dogshit video down."
Listening from the side, Gu Ning had a good idea of what was going on. She activated her terminal and logged into "Anzhua."
She had only just gotten her own terminal and hadn’t had a chance to log into "Anzhua" on the road, so she didn’t know what video Deviant and his team had posted.
The terminal’s screen lit up at a touch. A standard palm-sized virtual touchscreen popped up, spreading out flat over Gu Ning’s wrist.
Gu Ning felt a rough texture under her fingertip and realized she had tapped the wrong terminal.
Her own terminal and Kaper’s terminal were both on her right wrist, and it was his that she had opened.
The terminals all looked more or less the same, both wrist-watch style, with some differences in color.
Kaper’s terminal was the most common model. It had many scratches, the small LCD screen in the center was cracked in a spiderweb pattern, and the paint was peeling off the edges. It looked like it had been used for a very long time.
But as long as the chip inside wasn’t broken, it was still usable.
’Judging from the terminal, Kaper must be a very frugal Beastman.’
Gu Ning moved Kaper’s terminal to her left wrist. Just as she was about to close his terminal’s interface, her finger brushed against some application, and she watched as the main interface background automatically switched from a snowy landscape to a familiar portrait.
The portrait in the background was a half-body shot of a person with long black hair and a pair of grayish-white beast ears, wearing a simple, sleeveless black top, sitting by a window and looking out at the sunset.
"...?"
Gu Ning’s eyes widened slightly.
’Isn’t this background picture a scene from my first video?’
Gu Ning looked at the background image of herself, her feelings a little complicated.
She wouldn’t have found it strange or surprising if it were any other Beastman. Her videos had very high view counts. Even the Beastmen around her often discussed them, and she could even run into someone on the side of a main street in a strange city selling her merchandise.
