Fu Mingxiu placed an order based on her preferences, and the food arrived quickly. He took a sip of wine while Yan Xi dug into her meal with gusto.

“I’m starving. I haven’t had meat in ages. My manager, Han Xi, makes me weigh myself every other day,” Yan Xi complained between bites.

Fu Mingxiu watched her eat and listened to her grievances. The ease of their online conversations gradually replaced the earlier awkwardness. “You’re not fat. You don’t need to worry about losing weight. You’ll just end up starving yourself.”

Yan Xi sighed. “Master, you don’t understand. We might not look fat, but it’s different on camera. Every time we’re filmed, it feels like we gain three pounds.”
