Chapter 246 - 231: Sharing a Room
Chapter 246: Chapter 231: Sharing a Room
Su Yaoguang lowered her head and kissed the endlessly talking mouth.
Zhou Wangshu’s eyes widened.
"Whether it’s suitable, you’ll only know once you wear it," Su Yaoguang looked at him and said, "Why be so aggrieved?"
"Anyway, I don’t like it, so why wear it?" Zhou Wangshu’s earlobes were as red as fine agate.
"Zhou Wangshu, I’ll give you another chance..." Su Yaoguang touched his nose tip, "Do you want to divorce? If you do, we can go now."
"No divorce." Zhou Wangshu hugged her waist. "I’ve seen, touched, and kissed. If we divorce, who would still want me?"
Su Yaoguang: "..."
Zhou Wangshu leaned against her chest, listening to her heartbeat: "As expected, cold-hearted and emotionless, not a bit erratic. What exactly am I to you?"
Su Yaoguang sighed.
She held his face, looking at him seriously: "You don’t want to divorce, right? Don’t regret it."
She kissed his lips.
Zhou Wangshu returned the kiss, fiercely and intensely.
However, he was very measured, ensuring he wouldn’t hurt her.
No matter if her heartbeat quickens or not, whether she sees him as a man or a brother, once she becomes his, she shouldn’t think of escaping this lifetime.
Let’s consume first, talk later.
Zhou Wangshu flipped over, taking the dominant position.
"Stop, stop, stop..." Su Yaoguang pushed against Zhou Wangshu’s chest. "You’re serious..."
"Otherwise?" Zhou Wangshu bit her lip, "You believe I wouldn’t call my mother for justice if you stopped now?"
From outside came the voices of Zhang Zhaodi and others, their conversation getting closer, clearly moving towards them.
Su Yaoguang froze, pushed Zhou Wangshu: "Let go, they’re coming."
Zhou Wangshu’s face was livid with displeasure.
To let go now?
Just say if you want me dead.
"Yaoguang and Wang Shu haven’t returned yet?" Zhang Zhaodi said.
"The door’s closed, they mustn’t have returned yet!" Zhang Pandi replied, "The kids have been apart for several days, surely they have lots to talk about."
"What a worry!" Zhang Zhaodi said, "Wang Shu’s such a good kid, I’ve grown more fond of him, but Yaoguang doesn’t seem to have feelings for him as a man. Once the rankings are out, with his wit and talent, he’ll surely rank high, and then Yaoguang wouldn’t be able to reach him. Maybe making him an adopted son could secure Taoyao Square a protector. If the lad has a conscience, he’d surely look after us a bit. I don’t expect him to do much for us, just to speak up if we’re bullied."
"Will you really give away such a good prospect?"
"What choice do I have if they have no feelings?" Zhang Zhaodi said, "With Wang Shu’s looks and talent, he’ll surely find an official’s daughter. Yaoguang is great in every way, but her status falls short. When Wang Shu’s ranking comes out, we should ask them if they want to divorce and find someone Yaoguang likes better. This time, someone slightly older, they’d be more caring. He should be robust too, a frail scholar won’t do. Getting winded after a few steps..."
Su Yaoguang sensed danger.
Zhou Wangshu’s gaze was like a knife.
Zhang Zhaodi and the two sisters were still discussing marriage matches for Su Yaoguang and Zhou Wangshu.
"Sister, looking for someone older?"
"No, my mom’s talking nonsense."
"Why didn’t sister say earlier? Now we’ve both lost innocence; isn’t that toying with me?"
"Have some shame; who ruined whose innocence?" Su Yaoguang pinched his soft flesh.
"I’m not like you, aiming to settle down before thinking of making babies. Yet you consider marrying someone else, looking for an older guy."
Zhou Wangshu’s words didn’t stop while speaking by her ear.
Su Yaoguang worried that her mom and aunt might impulsively come in; the thought was too awkward to bear.
"I’m not looking elsewhere; I’ll live with you," Su Yaoguang conceded.
"Really, you’re not fooling me?"
"No."
"Okay, I believe you." Zhou Wangshu kissed her earlobe, "I must reward you well."
At dinner, Su Yaoguang didn’t appear. Zhou Wangshu appeared refreshed, taking food from the kitchen back to the room, then he headed out again.
Su Yaoguang woke up to find Zhou Wangshu’s hand reaching under the blanket.
"What are you doing?" Su Yaoguang hid, embarrassed.
Zhou Wangshu, tending to her with ointment, wore a strange expression.
Su Yaoguang buried her head under the covers: "Get out."
"Then you apply it yourself?"
"Leave." Su Yaoguang repeated.
After a while, there was silence; Su Yaoguang peeked out to see Zhou Wangshu sitting by the table.
"More sleep? If not, I’ll feed you some porridge."
Su Yaoguang slowly sat up, glaring at him: "Aren’t you bringing it over?"
Zhou Wangshu brought the porridge, feeding her.
Zhang Zhaodi just finished calculating the accounts, hearing Su Yaoguang skipped dinner, tried to check on her but was stopped by Zhang Pandi.
"I want to see my daughter! She’s been so stressed lately, she’s surely exhausted."
Zhang Pandi whispered, "Wang Shu’s with her."
"Wang Shu’s tired too, it’s not proper to have him care for her. Anyway, if they aren’t to be a couple, better have them separate rooms."
"One moment you’re having them share, the next separating them; aren’t you afraid the kids have opinions? Best let them be. If there’s something between them, it would’ve shown long ago; years have passed without progress."
"True. But I still should check."
"It’s too late now; going to their room isn’t proper. Anyway, if Yaoguang’s tired, she’d already sleep."
"True."
At this moment, Su Yaoguang was in Zhou Wangshu’s embrace. Feeling uneasy, she tried to pull away but was held tighter.
"I won’t bother you, sleep."
Su Yaoguang felt Zhou Wangshu’s warmth, snuggling into him, listening to his heartbeat, she drifted off.
Zhou Wangshu was warm, his heartbeat intense.
Perhaps it wasn’t her saving Zhou Wangshu, altering his fate, but him saving her, altering hers.
He saved her heart.
Unexpectedly, someone would hold her so assuredly, wanting to own, cherish her, making her feel worthy of being loved.
Zhou Wangshu seldom saw her rely on him; his heart relaxed. Stroking her hair, inhaling her sweet scent, he slowly closed his eyes.
Without Su Yaoguang, he might not have endured today. Even if surviving, he wouldn’t have lasted. He’d have gone all out against that family, perishing together. But now he had a weakness, a reason to live on, he must cherish his life and reevaluate his plans.
