This Earth Is A Bit Fearsome

Chapter 250 - Trade

Chapter 250: Trade

The figure was a woman with a voluptuous figure and dressed in noble robes from the Western middle ages.

The woman sported a typical western appearance. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She looked extremely alluring and spoke fluent Huaxian.

“Never thought I’d find you here, Lilith,” Lu Xuan said. He recognized the woman, who looked very young, before him.

She was none other than one of the three elders of the Vampiric Empire—Lilith.

Among the three elders of the empire, Lilith’s rank was actually higher than Count Dracula’s.

In truth, Lilith was actually far more ancient than the Count as well.

Count Dracula achieved fame in Eastern Europe about 1,000 years ago, and he remained the most well-known and talked-about vampire even in modern times.

In actuality, however, he was only ranked third throughout the entire empire of vampires.

His fame was maintained throughout the centuries only because he was the one elder who managed the day-to-day affairs of the empire for a very long time.

Lu Xuan knew very well that there were two other vampires in the empire that were even older than the Count; they were even more powerful as well.

All of that originated from memories in his past life.

In truth, all three of them had been in slumber back in his past life. They had had yet to be awakened.

It became obvious that Lu Xuan’s reincarnation brought with it a butterfly effect of sorts.

However, Lu Xuan nonetheless met one of the three elders of the Vampiric Empire in his past life, and he knew the woman to be Lilith.

Legends had it that the ancestor of the vampires was Cain’s mate, who was of immeasurable power and well above that of Count Dracula.

Lu Xuan was able to realize all of this tracing such thoughts, as Lu Xuan killed the Count, who had been one of the three elders of the empire of vampires, after all.

There was just no way the empire would have just kept sitting on their hands, especially when the Dark Bible had fallen into Lu Xuan’s hands.

Those vampires were most probably furious at the moment.

That was what led to the abduction of Lu Xuan’s father, demanding the Dark Bible be returned.

The Dark Bible was deemed one hell of a treasure to other cultivation forces, more than enough to get them to do stupid things.

In the case of the Vampiric Empire, however, the Dark Bible was deemed something that they had to take back at all costs. It was one of the cornerstones maintaining the empire’s existence.

“I didn’t know that you knew of me, Mr. Lu. It’s indeed a pleasure.”

Lilith’s smile was alluring. She appeared to be completely at ease and seemed not to have much of a regard for Lu Xuan, who continued to emanate a terrifying aura before her.

“You vamps are some bold *ssholes indeed. What gave you people the courage to stand before me, eh? That guy from Ningxia?” Lu Xuan flashed a smile, which was filled with cold malice.

“It’s simple. I’m here to trade, Mr. Lu. The Dark Bible for your father. The book belongs to us of the Vampiric Empire, after all, and it serves no use to you humans,” Lilith elaborated casually. She kept her gaze locked onto Lu Xuan.

She went against the protests in her attempt, opting to declare war against him instead of simply looking for him.

That was because she had been studying that battle between Lu Xuan and Count Dracula over and over.

Her studies led her to be wary of what Lu Xuan was capable of.

Despite being a seasoned veteran with numerous battles under her belt, she did not dare to say that she was absolutely able to beat Lu Xuan.

Furthermore, she deemed that human to be too dangerous, given how he was so frighteningly young despite being so formidable.

Such a man would have had a future unlike any before him. If she was to be unable to snuff Lu Xuan out immediately, she had to find a way to keep his movements in check.

She thought that she had finally found a way.

“So you want the Dark Bible, eh?” Lu Xuan gazed at Lilith coldly as he took the book out of his Coiling Dragon Ring.

Lilith’s eyes flashed with excitement, for that was indeed the Dark Bible.

That was the very item that she was out to take back right after awakening.

As for Lu Xuan, she deemed that there was time to find ways to eventually deal with and dispose of him.

The most important task at the moment was to take the book back as soon as possible.

If the book were to fall into the hands of other forces under the Covenant of Darkness, taking it back would be very, very difficult.

Worse still, there was still the church to deal with as well.

If the Dark Bible were to fall to the hands of the church, taking the book back would be near-impossible.

As such, she needed to take the Dark Bible away from Lu Xuan before the other forces decided to make a move first.

“No problem. Where’s my father?” Lu Xuan asked casually.

Lilith breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that Lu Xuan was not being obstinate and difficult. “Your father is now at the foot of the mountain, but to ensure that the trade could be carried out smoothly, I’ve planted something onto your father’s body.”

“I see that you have a death wish.”

Lu Xuan glared at her and burst with terrifying killing intent, his eyes set firmly on Lilith.

However, Lilith hardly cared and continued instead, “This is but a measure to ensure that the trade between us be carried out smoothly, as well as a means to prevent you from becoming an enemy of the empire.

“I’m afraid that what’s planted on your father will take but a thought from me to put his life in danger. But then again, if you were to just agree to not get in the way of the Vampiric Empire, you would never see the day where those things are used against him. Such an arrangement will work splendidly. It is both in your and our interests,” Lilith continued, not afraid of Lu Xuan making a move against her all of a sudden.

She had looked through all intelligence gathered on Lu Xuan, and all that information led her to speculate that Lu Xuan was someone who cared about his family. As such, there was no fear of him turning against her, so long as she had firm control over his family.

“Very well, very well.”

Lu Xuan suppressed his wrath and threw the Dark Bible to Lilith as he said, “Well, I’ve handed you the Dark Bible now, but if anything happens to my father, I swear I’ll raze your empire and every single one of you vamps.”

“Relax, I’m just trying to make sure the Dark Bible gets back to us in one piece. See you later, handsome.”

Lilith smiled as she turned around, disappearing before long.

His expression remained unnervingly cold.

“Lilith. Vampiric Empire.” Lu Xuan smirked and quipped, “Your days are numbered.”

Lu Xuan found his father, Lu Tianxiang, dazed and tied by the roadside, about ten minutes later.

He activated his Delusion-breaker Eyes and found several blood-colored bugs lying in wait all over his father’s body.

They were around his heart, atrium, artery, and other vital areas.

While they were so small that not even conventional machines would be able to detect them, there was no escaping Lu Xuan’s eyes.

“Blood bugs, eh?” Lu Xuan quipped coldly. He recognized those blood-colored bugs, and they were none other than the notorious blood bugs.
