Six was renamed Six.
Number Three was renamed Shannon.
Luna York had come up with the new names for them, which kept the original pronunciation while sounding cuter.
"CHIRP~ We gliders like our new names~"
"COO~ We like them too~"
Luna York was also happy to hear they liked their new names.
After finishing the hot pot, Luna York headed home first with her new companions.
Shawn Cheney also went back to be with his partner, while Carmen Lane and Winnie Wynn took Renee Jennings and Sheryl Sawyer to see the night sights of Jaelara.
As the group stopped at a street stall to buy lotus lanterns, a girl’s voice suddenly called out.
"Host Jennings!"
Renee Jennings turned to look, her eyes brightening slightly as the corners of her lips curved into a faint smile. "Miss Hayes? What a coincidence."
Andrea Hayes gave a shy smile. "Yes, it really feels like fate that we keep meeting."
"Haven’t you asked the opinion of your ’original inhabitant’ at home yet?" Renee Jennings asked with a smile.
Andrea Hayes explained, "Not yet. I went to a friend’s birthday party last night and got home a bit late, so I didn’t have time to record the video."
"No problem." Renee Jennings nodded. "Just record it and send it to me whenever you have time."
"Okay," Andrea Hayes said gratefully. "Thank you so much."
"Don’t mention it." Renee Jennings raised the lotus lantern in her hand. "Want to release lanterns with us?"
Andrea Hayes saw that Renee Jennings was with several other people and shook her head. "Thanks, but you all go ahead and have fun."
"Miss Hayes, are you a Jaelara local?" Renee Jennings asked.
"No," Andrea Hayes explained. "I’m from Ansler. I came to Jaelara for college and just stayed here after graduating."
Renee Jennings: "Oh, I see. I’m from Zenvia. I’ve been here on a business trip for the past couple of days and I’m heading back tomorrow."
"You’re going back to Zenvia so soon?"
"That’s right."
"Will you come back to Jaelara again?"
"I’m not sure yet." Renee Jennings chuckled softly. "If you ever visit Zenvia, Miss Hayes, you can let me know. I’ll show you around."
A trace of surprise flashed in Andrea Hayes’s eyes, and she felt incredibly flattered. "Host Jennings, thank you so much. I haven’t even shown you around Jaelara or had you try the local specialties..."
"It’s alright." Renee Jennings handed her the red lotus lantern she was holding. "I’m sure there will be other opportunities. This lantern is for you. May your career be prosperous and fiery."
"No, no, no," Andrea Hayes said, embarrassed. "I should be the one getting a lantern for you."
She took out her phone, intending to scan the QR code to pay.
Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Already paid for."
"Huh?" Andrea Hayes thought for a moment, then picked up a blue lotus lantern. "Then I’ll buy this one for you."
She quickly scanned the code and paid.
"The blue lotus lantern represents family. I hope you and your family will be happy, harmonious, safe, and blessed," the girl said with a solemn expression.
"That’s a wonderful blessing. In that case, I’ll accept it." Renee Jennings reached out and took the lantern from her. "I’ll wait for you."
"Andrea?"
Hearing her friend call her, Andrea Hayes quickly answered, "Hey, I’m over here!"
"Well then, Miss Hayes, until next time." Renee Jennings gave her a slight nod.
"See you next time!" Andrea Hayes watched Renee Jennings turn and walk away.
Sheryl Sawyer walked beside Renee Jennings and said in a low voice, "Renee, that Miss Hayes... her name is Andrea Hayes, right? It sounds so familiar."
Hearing this, Renee Jennings paused in her steps. She looked back, searching for the girl’s figure in the crowd, and said softly, "If I’m not mistaken, she’s very likely Auntie Winnie’s daughter."
"Huh? That’s too much of a coincidence!" Sheryl Sawyer exclaimed.
Renee Jennings’s lips curved. "I feel like I’m strangely connected to Andrea Hayes and Phoebe Sawyer."
"You really are!" Sheryl Sawyer nodded in emphatic agreement.
Phoebe Sawyer and Sylvia Brooks are friends.
And now you run into Andrea Hayes in Jaelara.
Sheryl Sawyer pressed her lips together, thinking quietly to herself, ’If only Sweetie and I could have this kind of fate.’
"Consultant Jennings, Officer Sawyer, want some fried pastries?" Carmen Lane asked, turning back.
Renee Jennings called out, "Sure!"
The group stopped at the pastry stall to buy some.
"Ladies, fragrant pastries, so crispy they fall apart! How many would you like?" the elderly female stall owner asked with an enthusiastic smile.
Carmen Lane smiled sweetly. "Ma’am, we’ll have four."
"You got it," the woman replied with a cheerful laugh. "I’ll pick out the big ones for you."
Carmen Lane: "Alright, thank you, ma’am."
Renee Jennings was staring at the pastries sizzling in the hot oil when a face suddenly appeared right in front of her.
"Host Jennings! It really is you!" the girl exclaimed, her smile radiant.
It took Renee Jennings a few seconds to process, then she asked in surprise, "You’re... The Dream-Chasing Deer?"
"Awesome, Ms. Jennings, you remember me!" Delight instantly filled The Dream-Chasing Deer’s expression. "I’m The Dream-Chasing Deer, and my name is Lucy Summers!"
"Lucy Summers." Renee Jennings’s lips curved into a gentle smile. "Okay, I’ll remember it. So you’re from Jaelara."
"I’m not from Jaelara," Lucy Summers explained. "I’m just visiting. I can’t believe I ran into you here. I’m so lucky! This trip was totally worth it~"
She hadn’t even wanted to come here at first, thinking that going out was too much of a waste of money. She was still trying to save up for a new computer.
Now she had only one thought—’Thank goodness I came!’
"Ms. Jennings, do you want a pastry? I’ll treat you!" Lucy Summers said, pulling out her phone to scan the code. "How many did you buy?"
"It’s okay, it’s okay, we already bought them," Carmen Lane replied.
"Then let me treat you to drinks!" Lucy Summers pointed to the handmade lemon tea stall next to them. "Pastries and lemon tea are a perfect match! Ms. Jennings, are there four of you?"
Seeing that she seemed determined to treat them to something, Renee Jennings didn’t refuse her kindness. "Yes, there are four of us."
"Alrighty~" Lucy Summers bought four cups of lemon tea from the neighboring stall and enthusiastically handed them out. "I just had this lemon tea, it’s pretty good~"
"Thank you." As Sheryl Sawyer took the lemon tea, she suddenly noticed a small red mole on the purlicue of the girl’s right hand.
She stared blankly at the girl’s hand for a few seconds before her gaze urgently darted to her face.
Seeing a scar on her forehead, Sheryl Sawyer’s momentarily soaring heart suddenly plummeted.
’It’s not Sweetie.’
’Sweetie doesn’t have a scar on her forehead.’
"Ms. Jennings, I won’t disturb you any longer." Afraid of interrupting Renee Jennings and her friends, Lucy Summers very considerately said her goodbyes. "See you in the stream next time, hehe~"
"Lucy Summers, thank you for the drinks." A faint smile spread across Renee Jennings’s lips as she waved at her.
"You’re welcome!" Lucy Summers smiled happily. She walked a few steps away, then ran back to add, "Ms. Jennings, I’ll support you forever!"
Renee Jennings raised her eyebrows slightly, the smile in her eyes deepening. "Thank you, you sweet girl."
"Love you~" Lucy Summers raised both hands above her head to form a large heart.
Seeing this, Carmen Lane said with an amused laugh, "Consultant Jennings, your fans are seriously adorable."
Renee Jennings’s lips curved. "I think so, too."
