The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 705: Shouting for Help?

Chapter 705: Chapter 705: Shouting for Help?

The moment Renee Jennings finished speaking, the furry little ones immediately grew excited.

"MEOW MEOW MEOW! Oh my gosh, she can actually understand us cats!"

"WOOF? How can you understand us?"

"MEOW MEOW! She can understand meow-speak! Brownie points! Brownie points!"

"..."

The smile in Renee Jennings’s eyes deepened. "Are you all little sweethearts who have owners?"

A calico cat meowed, "I don’t have an owner. Miss, do you want to be my owner? I’m very well-behaved."

Hearing this, Renee Jennings didn’t have the heart to refuse it.

Just as she was wondering how to answer, a tabby cat scrambled to say, "MEOW MEOW MEOW! Miss, look at me! I’m also very good, and I promise I won’t tear up the house!"

Goldie also barked, "I promise not to tear up the house either!"

’Looks like they’re all poor little things without owners.’

’But...’

Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow slightly, asking curiously, "How do you all know that no one likes little rascals who tear up the house?"

The tabby cat immediately replied, "MEOW MEOW MEOW! Because I saw another cat who tore up the house and made a mess all day get abandoned by its owner!"

The tuxedo cat, which had been silent until now, added softly, "Meow~ I was abandoned by my owner."

"I see." Renee Jennings nodded and explained, "I like you all very much, but my home isn’t in this city, so it might not be convenient to take you back with me. If you’re looking for owners, perhaps I can help you."

The calico cat nodded its little head vigorously. "I want to find an owner! I don’t want to live outside, it’s too hard to find food!"

The tuxedo cat wholeheartedly agreed. "MEOW MEOW MEOW! It’s so hard, so hard! If an owner is willing to take me back, I’ll definitely be good!"

Hearing this, Renee Jennings asked softly, "Little tuxedo, are you saying you want to live with your original owner again?"

The tuxedo cat thought for a moment, then replied, "Meow~ Either is fine. I’m not picky. I just want to have an owner~"

"I understand." Renee Jennings gave a slight nod, took out her phone, and switched to video mode. "Alright then, tell me your thoughts and what you’re looking for, and I’ll record it to help you find owners later."

As soon as she finished speaking, the furry little ones became extremely excited, scrambling over each other to state their needs.

Seeing their eager little faces, Renee Jennings said with an amused laugh, "One at a time. There’s no need to rush, I’ll get everyone’s."

Hearing this, the little ones finally relaxed.

As Renee Jennings was letting the tabby cat state its needs, Carmen Lane returned with the pet food she had bought.

"Sheryl, Carmen." Renee Jennings pointed to the few cats and dogs sitting off to the side, who had already finished recording their videos. "Could you feed these little ones?"

Sheryl Sawyer nodded. "Okay."

Carmen Lane: "Roger that!"

The cats and dogs understood Renee Jennings’s words and proactively walked over to the two women, tilting up their furry little heads to be fed.

After finishing the video for the last cat, Renee Jennings reminded them, "There’s one more little one over here who hasn’t eaten."

Carmen Lane laughed. "Coming right up for our distinguished guest."

Watching the furry little ones bury their heads in their food and eat ravenously, Renee Jennings found it both amusing and heartbreaking.

Among them, two cats and one dog had been abandoned by their owners. When they first joined the stray animal community, they were even ostracized.

Renee Jennings took out her phone, snapped a few photos, and edited a new post: "Are there any kind-hearted people in Jaelara interested in adopting a small animal? We have some cats and dogs here looking for a home~"

She also added her location before publishing it.

After doing all this, she put down her phone and watched the furry ones eat.

The tuxedo cat, which had been the first to record its video, had already finished eating. Renee Jennings walked over, crouched down beside the little one, and reached out to pet its head. "Hey, cutie, can I ask you about something?"

The tuxedo cat rubbed its little head against her palm and meowed in a sweet, high-pitched voice, "Of course, Miss!"

Renee Jennings’s lips curved into a slight smile as she asked softly, "While you’ve been playing around here, have you seen a human coming out of this building with an alpaca?"

"Meow? An alpaca?" The tuxedo cat tilted its little head, asking in confusion, "What’s that?"

"Hold on a second." Renee Jennings searched for a photo on her phone. "This is it. Have you seen one?"

The calico cat came over to take a look. "MEOW MEOW MEOW! So that’s an alpaca! I’ve seen it a few times, coming out of this building, but I haven’t seen it in the last few days."

"You haven’t seen it recently?" Renee Jennings frowned suspiciously. ’That’s strange. It went missing in the last few days. Its owner said it was taken away by someone the day before yesterday.’

The pug listened for a while before moving closer to Renee Jennings. "WOOF WOOF WOOF! Miss, I haven’t seen that sheep-thing these last two days, but I did discover something strange the day before yesterday!"

Renee Jennings’s eyes lit up, and she pressed, "What was it?"

"WOOF WOOF WOOF! The day before yesterday, I came over here looking for food and saw someone come out of this building carrying a big box." The pug’s little expression was very serious. "WOOF WOOF WOOF! And then I heard something very strange come from inside that box!"

"Meow? What did it say?" the tuxedo cat asked.

The other furry ones also looked curious, their eyes wide and round.

The pug said mysteriously, "WOOF! Help!"

Renee Jennings’s expression darkened. "You heard someone shouting ’help’ from inside the box?"

The pug nodded its head and continued, "WOOF WOOF WOOF! It wasn’t just shouting ’help,’ it shouted a whole lot of other things too!"

Renee Jennings: "What else did it shout? Do you remember?"

The pug: "WOOF! I remember!"

Renee Jennings: "Can you tell me, then?"

The pug: "WOOF WOOF WOOF! I also heard the box say, ’Baa don’t wanna die! You bad humans are too much! Help! Help! Save baa!’"

After listening, Renee Jennings’s long, slender eyebrows knitted together tightly. "Pug, do you remember what color the box was?"

The pug: "WOOF! Red!"

"Okay, thank you." Renee Jennings turned to Carmen Lane. "Check the surrounding surveillance footage. See if anyone was dragging a red case the day before yesterday. The alpaca was probably taken away inside a red suitcase."

"Understood!" Carmen Lane nodded immediately, pulling out her phone to call her colleagues at the station.

Renee Jennings stood up and looked up, just able to see the fourth-floor balcony.

She turned, scanned her surroundings, and walked over to a tree.

Perhaps because there were too many cats and dogs gathered here, there wasn’t a single bird to be seen in the tree.

Renee Jennings thought for a moment and told the furry little ones to go and play.

After a little while, a Little Sparrow finally landed on a branch.

"Little Sparrow, hello there," Renee Jennings called out in greeting.

Little Sparrow opened its small eyes, looked down curiously, and let out a wary chirp: "Human, what do you want?"

Although this human exuded a gentle aura, it had seen very clearly just now that this human was chatting happily with that pack of stinky cats and dogs.

Renee Jennings sensed Little Sparrow’s unease and said softly, "Don’t be afraid. I came here to find out about something. I mean no harm."
