The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 653: Crying for Help for My Dad

Chapter 653: Chapter 653: Crying for Help for My Dad

Listening to Bobo’s trumpeting, the elephant Breeder asked Renee Jennings curiously, "Ms. Jennings, is Bobo telling you he doesn’t like carrots?"

"Yes." Renee Jennings nodded and explained with a smile, "Bobo wants me to tell you not to feed him carrots anymore. He thinks carrots are the most disgusting food in the world."

"Huh!" the elephant Breeder said in surprise. "Is he being that dramatic?"

Michelle Fuller, on the other hand, had a look of pleasant surprise. "Yay! This cute elephant thinks carrots are disgusting, just like me!"

The elephant, Bobo, seemed to have found a kindred spirit. He immediately stretched out his long trunk to nuzzle Michelle Fuller. "Bobo wants to be good friends with the big sister who doesn’t eat carrots!"

Renee Jennings smiled. "Michelle, Bobo wants to be good friends with you."

"Wow~" Michelle Fuller raised her hand to pat his long trunk, grinning. "I’d love to be friends with Bobo~"

The elephant Bobo instantly let out a happy rumble.

The elephant Breeder watched from the side with a helpless expression. "Being a picky eater isn’t a good habit."

Bobo the elephant looked at Renee Jennings again, his eyes full of hope. "Big sister, tell Dad that Bobo loves apples and bananas."

Renee could tell. ’Bobo the elephant is a picky foodie.’

She relayed Bobo’s request to the elephant Breeder.

The man’s head immediately started to ache. "This guy!"

Seeing Bobo do this, the other elephants all followed his example, running over to express their own needs to Renee Jennings.

"Big sister, I haven’t had alfalfa in so long!"

"Big sister, tell Dad I don’t want to eat any beans for the next few days!"

"The sun’s been really strong lately. Big sister, can you tell Dad I want an umbrella..."

A smile spread across Renee Jennings’s face. ’Every elephant has its own opinions.’

Learning of the elephants’ thoughts, the elephant Breeder’s headache grew even worse. "Are you guys making wishes now?"

But there was nothing he could do. They were "his kids," after all; he had no choice but to spoil them.

The elephant Breeder said with a wry smile, "Alfalfa, no more beans, and get an umbrella, right? Fine, I’ve noted it all down."

After speaking, he turned to look at Renee Jennings.

Before he could even speak, Renee Jennings guessed what he was thinking.

She tactfully spoke up, "I have to go see the other animals, so I’ll be leaving now."

The elephant Breeder quietly breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

It wasn’t that he didn’t welcome Renee Jennings; he was just afraid "his kids" would make even more outrageous and unreasonable demands.

Hearing that Renee Jennings was leaving, the elephants all expressed their reluctance to see her go.

"Big sister, don’t go! How about you become our Breeder?"

"Yeah! It would be so great if big sister could be our Breeder!"

"We like the human big sister who can understand what elephants say~"

"Big sister, don’t go! I’ll treat you to some tender leaves!"

As he spoke, Bebe curled a tender leaf with his trunk and offered it to Renee Jennings.

"Thank you, Bebe." Renee Jennings accepted the leaf in her palm, smiling as she said, "I’ll come see you all again when I get the chance. Goodbye."

The group left the elephant enclosure and went to see animals in other areas, only leaving Little Critters Zoo around closing time.

As night fell, on the driver’s enthusiastic recommendation, they tasted Trenwick’s local delicacies and took in the city’s iconic nightscapes.

It was already past eleven at night by the time they returned to the hotel.

Renee Jennings took a shower first. After drying her hair and lying down on the bed, she thought about the woman she had run into at the zoo that afternoon.

She opened the streaming platform and began scrolling through her private messages, soon spotting a chat from "Windswept Whimsy."

With a light tap of her finger, the chat interface popped up.

Probably to make it easier for Renee to recognize her, Windswept Whimsy had sent only a single sentence: "Host Jennings, I’m the one who said hello to you at Little Critters Zoo today. I was wearing the floral dress."

Renee Jennings quickly typed a reply: "Hello, is there something you need my help with?"

Windswept Whimsy must have been waiting for Renee Jennings’s message. She seemed to have her reply drafted in advance, as a long block of text came through immediately.

"Host Jennings, hello. The text is a bit long, so I apologize for the trouble!

It’s like this: my father suddenly had a heart attack and collapsed on the floor at home. But because he was discovered too late, we had already missed the optimal treatment window by the time we got him to the hospital.

It wasn’t until after we handled my father’s funeral arrangements that I slowly began to find it strange. My dad was normally in decent health and had regular check-ups, so I kept wondering if he might have been triggered by something that day to have a sudden heart attack.

We happen to have a little black dog at home named Lucky. I’d like to ask you, Host Jennings, to help me communicate with Lucky and ask if he knows what happened that day."

After reading the long message, Renee Jennings was suddenly reminded of how Marmalade’s mother had been angered to death by her husband and Number Three.

’Could it be that Ethan’s father was also angered to death by someone?’

Renee Jennings replied: "Ethan, I’ve finished reading your message. Is Lucky with you right now?"

Windswept Whimsy: "Yes, yes, he is! I can video call anytime, whenever it’s convenient for you, Host."

Renee Jennings: "Okay, please wait a moment."

She had to wait for Michelle Fuller to finish her shower.

About ten minutes later, Michelle Fuller came out of the bathroom after drying her hair. "The hairdryer in this hotel is awful. Next time we travel, I’m definitely bringing my own."

Renee Jennings looked at her and raised an eyebrow. "Get some clothes on. I’m about to have a video call with a follower."

Hearing this, Michelle Fuller grabbed a shirt and pulled it on. "A video call with who?"

"A visitor we met at the zoo today. She feels there’s something suspicious about her father’s death," Renee Jennings said while messaging Windswept Whimsy.

Renee Jennings: "Can we video call now?"

Windswept Whimsy: "Yes, yes."

Seeing this, Renee Jennings sent a video call invitation.

Windswept Whimsy accepted immediately, saying gratefully, "Host, thank you for being willing to help."

Renee Jennings pursed her lips slightly and asked softly, "How long ago did this happen?"

Windswept Whimsy: "Half a year."

Renee Jennings nodded. "That’s quite a while ago. I’m not sure if Lucky will still remember."

Windswept Whimsy: "I believe Lucky remembers. My dad raised him. After my dad passed away, Lucky would often stare blankly at his memorial portrait."

As she spoke, her eyes reddened and her voice became choked with sobs. "And back then, when my dad collapsed at home, we heard Lucky barking incessantly the moment we opened the door. I know... I know he was calling for help for my dad, but we just got there too late..."

After she finished speaking, Windswept Whimsy covered her mouth, crying silently.

Renee Jennings stared at the screen, her fingers unconsciously tightening around her phone as her own eyes began to burn.

She lowered her gaze, blinking away the moisture in her eyes. She took a deep breath and waited for the person on the other end of the screen to compose herself before saying gently, "I understand, Ethan. Let me talk to Lucky."

"Okay." Windswept Whimsy adjusted the camera angle.

Renee Jennings saw an all-black dog sitting quietly on the ground. Its deep, dark eyes held an inexplicable, lonely sadness.
