Chapter 566: There’s Something I Forgot to Say
Chapter 566: Chapter 566: There’s Something I Forgot to Say
Renee Jennings looked at Vincent Morgan and smiled faintly. "You’re very clever. Zoe Morgan did indeed play a major role in this."
Hearing this, Vincent Morgan looked at Aria Sinclair with concern. "Mom, are you okay?"
Aria Sinclair’s face was already streaked with tears. Her heart throbbed violently, again and again, as if countless needles were stabbing it mercilessly. Even breathing became choked and difficult, each inhalation accompanied by an uncontrollable tremor.
She choked out, "Why on earth would Zoe do this to me?"
Faye Wyatt was also lost in shock, her mind a complete blank.
"She wasn’t exactly targeting you," Renee Jennings said softly, sharing her opinion. "She just loved Genevieve Hayes too much."
Aria Sinclair quickly made a connection and grabbed Renee Jennings’s hand anxiously. "I remember Genevieve Hayes had her baby around the same time as me. Could her child be..."
This time, Renee Jennings didn’t rush to pull her hand away. She met Aria’s gaze and faintly detected the terror and unease hidden in the depths of her eyes.
She suddenly felt that what she was about to say would be a bit cruel to Aria Sinclair.
’I should use a gentler tone.’
Renee Jennings pressed her lips together, slowed her cadence, and spoke in a gentle voice, "Genevieve Hayes’s daughter is Yvonne Morgan. Zoe Morgan was the one who had the babies switched back then."
Hearing this, Aria Sinclair’s eyelashes fluttered. Then, her eyes closed, and her whole body slumped uncontrollably to the side.
"Mom!" Vincent Morgan quickly reached out and caught her in his arms, his brows knitted tightly, his handsome face filled with worry.
Faye Wyatt finally snapped out of it and said in a serious tone, "Let’s get her to the hospital first."
"Okay." Vincent Morgan nodded and lifted Aria Sinclair into his arms.
"Renee." Faye Wyatt looked at Renee Jennings, her eyes seeming to ask a question.
Renee Jennings gave a slight nod. "Let’s go together."
"Okay." Faye Wyatt strode to the door and pulled the solid wood door open.
As Renee Jennings followed behind, the system’s voice sounded in her mind.
[System 009: Congratulations on completing the Level 4 mission: Reveal the Truth. Reward granted: Guinea Pig Family Dictionary, 300 points, 3 million cash.]
「Meanwhile.」
After parting ways with Zoe Morgan, Yvonne Morgan tried to contact Zachary Morgan.
But her calls went unanswered.
Yvonne Morgan sat in the car, annoyed and upset, but she still composed and sent a text message: [Dad, why are you ignoring me?]
She thought for a moment, then found Sean Fuller in her WeChat contact list.
She typed a few words into the text box, deleted them, and then placed a voice call instead.
He answered, and she began, her voice trembling slightly, "Sean, do you have time right now?"
"Yvonne, what’s wrong?" Sean Fuller could tell from her tone that something was off. "What happened?"
"I... I’m fine."
"Are you sure you’re fine?" Sean Fuller frowned. "You sound like you’ve been crying."
"I..." Yvonne Morgan’s voice caught. "Sean, do you consider me a friend?"
"Of course."
"Are you free right now, then? Could you come have a drink with me? I’m a mess."
"Okay, where are you?"
"I’ll send you my location."
"Alright."
"Sean Fuller, who was crying?" Michelle Fuller, who was drinking bird’s nest soup, gave her brother a gossipy look.
"A friend," Sean Fuller said as he stood up. "You don’t know her."
Michelle Fuller raised an eyebrow. "A girl?"
"Yeah."
"Be careful. Don’t get tricked again."
"I know," Sean Fuller explained. "This girl is different from the others I’ve known."
Michelle Fuller rolled her eyes at him. "Are you that desperate to find a girlfriend?"
"I am not," Sean Fuller retorted, his ears turning slightly red as she’d hit a nerve. "I’m just making a friend. I don’t have any other intentions."
"Is that so?" Michelle Fuller leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms as she sized him up. "I think being single is great. I don’t get why you want to be in a relationship."
"You only think being single is great because no one’s pursuing you," Sean Fuller said bluntly.
Michelle Fuller immediately shot him a glare. "What nonsense are you talking about? Plenty of guys are after your sister."
"I don’t believe you."
"..." Michelle Fuller was silent for a couple of seconds, then sighed. "Whatever, I can’t be bothered to argue with you. But seriously, if you really want a girlfriend, I can introduce you to someone."
"It’s not Sharon, is it?" Sean Fuller frowned. "Sharon is beautiful and capable, but she’s not my type."
"It’s not Sharon," Michelle Fuller said. "It’s someone you’ve met. Sawyer."
Sean Fuller shook his head. "Sawyer is nice, but I don’t think we have anything to talk about."
"You two have barely even spoken. How would you know you have nothing to talk about?"
"But..."
"No buts. I’ll find some time to ask Sawyer. Maybe she’s not even looking for a relationship and just wants to focus on her career."
Sean Fuller was about to say something when his WeChat pinged. He glanced down at it. "I have to go. We’ll talk when I get back."
Michelle Fuller watched his retreating back and shook her head helplessly.
She finished her bird’s nest soup and picked up her phone to text Renee Jennings: [Renee, I have a feeling Sean is about to get tricked by a girl again.]
Renee Jennings and Faye Wyatt were sitting in the waiting area outside the hospital room. When she saw the message, she quickly replied: [What’s wrong?]
Michelle Fuller sent a voice message back: "A girl just asked him out..."
Renee: [I hope Sean meets a good girl this time. He can’t be this unlucky forever.]
After sending that message, she quickly typed out what had happened that night and sent it to her.
Michelle Fuller was so shocked she immediately shot up from the sofa.
’Holy crap, that Zoe Morgan is something else. She’s been playing her brother and sister-in-law for fools.’
Michelle: [She’s seriously crazy.]
Renee: [Yeah.]
After replying, she looked up and saw Vincent Morgan and a doctor walking out of the hospital room one after the other.
"How is she?" Faye Wyatt asked with concern.
Vincent Morgan said softly, "She’s fine. The doctor said she fainted from excessive shock."
"That’s good." Faye Wyatt nodded, her heart heavy with complex emotions.
Vincent Morgan looked at Renee Jennings, a deep sadness in his eyes. "Renee, thank you for telling us the truth."
"Don’t thank me," Renee Jennings said flatly. "I had my own selfish reasons. I don’t like to see people who’ve wronged me live too well."
In her premonitory dream, the ones who were cruelest to her were Yvonne Morgan and Zoe Morgan.
Even though it hadn’t happened yet, the dream was so real it felt as if she had lived through it herself.
Hearing this, Faye Wyatt and Vincent Morgan froze.
"Renee, has Vivi... bullied you before?" Faye Wyatt frowned at her.
Vincent Morgan’s expression also grew grim. "What did my aunt and Yvonne do to you?"
Renee Jennings pressed her lips together and changed the subject. "By the way, there was something I forgot to mention earlier."
"What is it?" Faye Wyatt asked.
Vincent Morgan also looked at her nervously.
