"I don’t agree to the breakup!" Jason Thorne’s patience was wearing thin. He kicked the door hard. "Break up with that rich kid Mia introduced you to, and I’ll pretend this whole thing never happened."
Jade wasn’t about to be threatened. "It takes two to start a relationship, but only one to end it! Stop making a scene, you’re annoying as hell! Now get lost!"
Jason Thorne’s hands clenched into fists at his sides. He gritted his teeth, the rage in his chest burning hotter and hotter.

"Michelle Fuller, you’re heartless!" Sean clutched his chest, looking as if he’d been mortally wounded.
"Sean, let me introduce you," Renee Jennings said softly. "This is my colleague, Zachary Conway."
Hearing this, Sean immediately dropped his devil-may-care attitude and politely extended a hand to Zachary Conway. "Hello. I’m Renee’s younger brother, Sean Fuller."
Michelle Fuller shot him an irritated glare.
Zachary Conway smiled and shook Sean’s hand firmly. "Sean, it’s a pleasure to meet you."
"What’s with the enthusiasm?" Michelle asked.
Zachary opened his mouth but was suddenly at a loss for words.
Seeing this, Renee raised an eyebrow. "Michelle, stop teasing."
"Alright, alright." Michelle flashed a smile at Zachary. "I’ll stop teasing you. Let’s go. We’ll have Renee’s ’brother’ here treat us to a feast."
Hearing this, Zachary quickly offered, "I’ll treat."
"No, no." Michelle waved her hand dismissively and pointed at her actual brother. "Just let him treat. He’s got more money than sense."

Sean took everyone to a friend’s restaurant for Japanese food.
During the meal, Michelle noticed him taking pictures with his phone and immediately sensed something was up. "Sean, do you have a new girlfriend?"
"No," Sean shook his head, looking confused. "Why do you ask?"
Michelle gestured toward his phone with her chin. "If you don’t have a girlfriend, who are you sending those pictures to?"
"She’s not my girlfriend," Sean explained. "Just a regular friend I happened to meet a while ago."
Michelle eyed him suspiciously. "A girl?"
"Yeah."
"She’s not another one trying to scam you for money, is she?"
"Of course not!" Sean immediately retorted. "This girl’s family is really rich too. She’s not like the others I’ve met before."
"Is that so?" Michelle pursed her lips, still unconvinced. "I think you should still be careful."
Sean humbly accepted her advice. "Okay, I know. I’ll be more careful."
After dinner, Renee got some dessert to-go to bring home.
Zane and Jasmine were thrilled to see her return.
Probably because they hadn’t seen her for several days, the two little ones were especially clingy tonight.
While Renee was in the shower, Zane and Jasmine stood guard at the bathroom door with their furry siblings.

The mutual friend’s tone was firm. "Mia never seduced your boyfriend. Making up lies to slander her is a really scummy thing to do."
Jade was so angry she laughed. "Mia already got to you, didn’t she? What, did she tell you a bunch of bad things about me?"
"No, Mia never contacted me at all." The mutual friend shook their head. "I saw the live stream."
"What live stream?"
"Last night, you were on the phone with Jason Thorne. You said Mia introduced you to a rich heir, right?"
Jade’s brow furrowed. She was stunned. "How could you possibly know that?"
’Mia was in the shower last night. The water was running so loud, there’s no way she could have heard what I said.’
