"Have you had to cook these past few days since you went back?" Renee Jennings asked.
JessicaLovesLife said in a low voice, "I have to help my mother-in-law as her assistant. Since yesterday, she’s been saying that she wants me to cook a meal by myself today."

The mother-in-law saw the tear stains on her face and asked suspiciously, "What are you crying for? Are you crying just because I asked you to cook a meal?"
"Oh, for goodness’ sake!" The mother-in-law put on a look of disdain. "Back when I got married, I had to cook for the whole family the very next day. I had to go to the river to wash everyone’s clothes, and I didn’t cry. Why are you so delicate!"

JessicaLovesLife gripped her phone tightly and stood up from the floor. She was tall, towering a full head over her mother-in-law.
She took a deep breath and said coldly, "Is that so? Then why don’t you go outside and ask around which family’s grandmother let her own granddaughter drown to death just so she could play cards?"
As soon as these words were spoken, the color drained from the mother-in-law’s face, her expression flickering between ghastly shades of white and green.
She glared with her beady eyes, her gaze full of venom as she stared at her daughter-in-law. "What did you say? Which damn bastard told you this?"
’My son definitely wouldn’t have said anything. So which bastard told her about this?’
Hearing this, Biscuit guiltily shifted his paws, burying his head low to make himself less conspicuous.
’Grandma can’t find out I’m the one who told her! Otherwise, she’ll definitely catch me and cook me in a stew!’

"You let Sweetie die just to play cards!" JessicaLovesLife looked at her with disgust. "Don’t you have nightmares every time you go to sleep?"
The mother-in-law hadn’t heard that name in a long time. Her face turned deathly pale in an instant, and her breathing became ragged. "Nonsense! I’ll rip that filthy mouth of yours off!"
JessicaLovesLife never expected her to resort to violence and quickly ran out.
