Chapter 377: Are You Suspecting Your Girlfriend Is Cheating?
Chapter 377: Chapter 377: Are You Suspecting Your Girlfriend Is Cheating?
So-and-so grinned. "Hey, pretty streamer, are you as gorgeous in person as you are on stream?"
Renee Jennings didn’t answer his question. Her voice was flat. "So-and-so, is there something you need my help with? If not, I’m going to connect with another viewer."
"Of course I do!" So-and-so said, sounding a little displeased. "Streamer, what’s with you? Why do you have this attitude now that it’s my turn?"
Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips. "I don’t think there’s a problem with my attitude."
[This guy is so rude!]
[The first thing he does is ask if the streamer is as pretty in person... He has no sense of boundaries!]
[This is what they mean by ugly on the inside and out!]
[I can’t even.]
So-and-so hadn’t expected the bullet comments to be roasting him, and he grew annoyed. "What do you mean, ’ugly on the inside and out’? It’s just because I don’t have a filter on. I’m actually good-looking in person."
[LMAO, first time I’ve ever heard someone praise themselves for being good-looking.]
[He has zero self-awareness.]
[Who gave you this superiority complex...]
The bullet comments made So-and-so’s face flush red with anger, but he was unwilling to disconnect, so he had no choice but to grit his teeth and ignore them.
He said, "Streamer, there is something I’d like your help with."
Renee Jennings said unhurriedly, "Go ahead and tell me about it first."
"What do you mean, ’tell you about it first’?" So-and-so was confused. "Does that mean you might not help me after I tell you?"
Renee Jennings held her mug. "If it’s something reasonable, I’ll help."
"Fine." So-and-so nodded. "Of course it’s reasonable! I’m a good citizen; I wouldn’t do anything illegal."
Renee Jennings finished her water, set the mug down, and said nonchalantly, "Then tell me."
So-and-so said, "I met a girl on the subway a while back. We really hit it off, and we’ve met up a few times. I got the feeling she was into me, too."
"Is that so?" Renee Jennings raised her eyebrows slightly. "Could it be that you were just imagining it?"
"It definitely wasn’t my imagination!" So-and-so immediately retorted. "She was really enthusiastic, too. Whenever I didn’t message her, she would message me first!"
"I see." Renee Jennings nodded. "And then what?"
"Later, I confessed my feelings to her, and she agreed to be my girlfriend." As he spoke, the relaxed look on So-and-so’s face vanished, replaced by a frown. "But recently, I don’t know what happened, she suddenly broke up with me. I find it completely baffling."
A slight smile touched Renee Jennings’s lips. "You don’t know why she broke up with you?"
"No idea." So-and-so looked distressed. "Absolutely nothing was wrong."
"So how do you want me to help you?" Renee Jennings asked.
So-and-so leaned forward, holding a white cat up to the camera. "This is my cat. I had to go on a business trip before, so I had her look after it for a while. When she broke up with me, she gave it back."
"I’m hoping you can help me find out. Did my girlfriend break up with me because there’s another guy?"
Renee Jennings smirked. "So you suspect your girlfriend cheated on you?"
"Yes." So-and-so nodded. "Otherwise, I really can’t think of any reason why she would suddenly break up with me. I didn’t do anything wrong. It couldn’t possibly be my fault."
Though Renee Jennings didn’t know the man, her intuition told her that if the woman was the one who initiated the breakup, he was most likely the reason why.
Her gaze fell on the white cat in the split-screen. She spoke softly, "Hello, little kitty. I’m Renee Jennings. What’s your name?"
"My name is Cotton."
"Cotton, were you staying at a lady’s house for the last few days?"
"Yes!"
"Then do you know why that lady wanted to break up with your owner?"
"I do!"
Just then, a bullet comment caught the attention of the viewers in the stream.
[I’m one of the people involved. I really didn’t expect this...]
Renee Jennings also spotted the comment and immediately spoke up. "AlmondCandy, is that really you? If it is, don’t leave the stream. I’ll connect with you in a moment."
[Okay.]
Next, the viewers in the stream heard Cotton let out a long series of meows and yowls.
Even though they couldn’t understand a word, everyone listened intently.
Renee Jennings frowned from time to time, a flash of ridicule and disbelief occasionally crossing her beautiful eyes.
[You can tell just how juicy this story is from the streamer’s expression.]
[The anticipation is killing me.]
[Those of us who love gossip are eating well tonight.]
After Cotton had relayed the entire story, Renee Jennings looked at So-and-so, her expression complex. "So-and-so, do you really not know the reason your girlfriend broke up with you?"
So-and-so immediately shook his head. "I don’t know. And that AlmondCandy really is her."
Renee Jennings nodded. "Alright. Before I connect with AlmondCandy, let me first tell you what I learned from Cotton."
"So-and-so, you and AlmondCandy were dating for less than a month, correct?"
So-and-so: "Yeah, about that."
"During your relationship, you always chose date spots that were free, like parks or the beach, right?"
So-and-so hastily explained, "We went to the park and the beach because the environment is nice and the air is fresh, not because they’re free."
"Is that so." Renee Jennings’s lips curled with a hint of mockery. "At the end of the month, AlmondCandy got paid and shared the good news of her raise with you. You took the opportunity to have her treat you to a celebratory dinner, and to introduce your good buddies to her at the same time."
"Yes." So-and-so nodded, looking confused again. "What does that have to do with our breakup?"
"At the time, AlmondCandy picked a restaurant, but you vetoed it," Renee Jennings said coolly. "You sent her a link to a seafood place instead."
So-and-so pressed his lips together, his expression gradually turning ugly. "And then what? Why do you keep talking about this?"
Renee Jennings gave a meaningful smile. "AlmondCandy brought one of her girlfriends, but you, unexpectedly, brought four of your guy friends."
So-and-so fell silent.
"You all ordered a ton of seafood, drank a lot of alcohol, and when it was time to pay the bill, not only did you not sneak off to pay it, you even went to the counter and asked for two cartons of cigarettes to take with you." A look of contempt appeared in Renee Jennings’s eyes. "That meal cost her three thousand yuan."
So-and-so: "..."
[Damn, you made her spend three thousand yuan on one meal? What did she ever do to you?]
[How could you have the nerve to bring four guys to freeload off her? So shameless. And you took two cartons of cigarettes??? That’s just next level!]
[She definitely should have broken up with him, but AlmondCandy, you silly girl, you should have gotten the three thousand yuan back when you did!]
"I didn’t expect it to cost that much either..." So-and-so retorted. "I was too drunk at the time, that’s why I didn’t pay. I was originally planning to cover the bill."
"Is that so?" Renee Jennings sneered. "You were too drunk to remember to pay the bill, but you remembered to go to the counter and get two cartons of cigarettes?"
So-and-so stammered, "It’s because I was drunk that I..."
[So disgusting!!!]
[And he slandered his girlfriend, saying she broke up with him for cheating. What a scumbag.]
