"Mommy knows." Fallon was so happy she started to cry. "My Joy is the best, most well-behaved girl."
Everyone else in the living room remained silent, each lost in their own thoughts.
Fallon hugged Joy and asked Renee Jennings again, "Streamer, who stole the allowance money? Did Dumpling say?"
"For that question, I think you can ask your mother-in-law," Renee Jennings said, not revealing the truth directly.
Hearing this, the mother-in-law instantly lost her composure. "What’s that supposed to mean? Ask me? How would I know who stole it?"
"You don’t know?" Renee Jennings gave a smirk that wasn’t quite a smile. "Then do you dare make a deadly vow? That if you know who did it but don’t say, and even frame Joy..."
"Pah! Pah! Pah!" The mother-in-law cut her off, furious. "Are you insane? Why would we make a deadly vow?"
"You don’t dare?" Renee Jennings taunted. "You’re scared."
"What do I have to be scared of?" the mother-in-law said, feigning calmness. "But I can’t be bothered to talk to you about such nonsense."
Renee Jennings smiled. "Fine. Since you won’t talk, I will."
The mother-in-law’s palms grew damp, and her heart began to beat a little faster.
[Streamer, hurry up and say it! Stop keeping us in suspense!]

"Mom, why would you do that?" Sean Sterling looked at his mother in disbelief.
’He knew very well what Renee Jennings was capable of. If she said it, it couldn’t be a lie.’
"It’s a lie!" the mother-in-law denied flatly. "I never did anything of the sort! And Momo would never steal money! Your wife must have bribed this damn animal streamer!"
"That’s right!" the sister-in-law chimed in. "How could a human possibly understand what animals are saying? She must be in cahoots with my sister-in-law!"
[These two are really something else.]

[Damn it, this is making me so mad! Fallon, you have to move out of that house!]

At first, she had only thought her mother-in-law was biased, but she never imagined that she knew the truth and still incited Momo to frame Joy.
"Do you even deserve to be Joy’s grandmother?" she asked, utterly disappointed. "Sean Sterling, did you see that? This is how your ’good mother’ treats your daughter!"
The mother-in-law quickly said, "Shaun, don’t listen to your wife’s nonsense! How could I be so muddle-headed? They are both my grandchildren. I love them both."
"You know perfectly well whether you love Joy or not!" Fallon glared at her.
"Momo is a boy, so it’s only natural for me to dote on him a little more," the mother-in-law retorted. "But everything that damn streamer said is a lie. You must have bribed her to target me on purpose. Autumn, you’ve had it out for me for a long time, haven’t you?"
Fallon couldn’t be bothered to argue with her anymore. She turned to her husband. "Sean Sterling, you have to give me an explanation for this today!"
"What kind of explanation do you want?"
"I want your mom and Momo to apologize to Joy! And then we’re moving out, getting away from here!"
Sean Sterling pursed his lips, his heart torn with conflict.
"My son didn’t steal anything, why should he have to apologize?" the sister-in-law said, pulling her son into a protective hug.
[Damn, what’s with Fallon’s husband’s attitude?]

Renee Jennings added casually, "Fallon, I’ve already called the police for you. They’ll be here soon with a police dog. The dog will know who stole the money with just one sniff, and then it’ll bite down on the thief’s hand."

Dumpling barked, "Because she wants Joy’s dad to hate Joy, so that Joy’s dad will be nice to Momo and spend the money he earns on Momo!"
