Chapter 325: Why Did You Lie to Me?

Chapter 325: Chapter 325: Why Did You Lie to Me?

Renee Jennings took a sip of tea and said leisurely, "If you have something to say, just say it here. Michelle and Sean aren’t outsiders."

Barbie Lowe was speechless.

’Damn it, the whole point was so they wouldn’t hear!’

’I’ve never been so speechless in my entire life.’

Barbie Lowe lowered her gaze. After a moment of silent calculation, she turned to Sean Fuller and said in a soft voice, "I’m not feeling well and want to go home. Could you take me, please?"

"What’s wrong?" Sean Fuller asked with immediate concern. "Should I take you to the hospital?"

"No, it’s okay." Barbie Lowe shook her head, looking faint. "It’s just an upset stomach. I’ll be fine as long as you take me home to rest."

’On the way home, I’ll brainwash this idiot rich boy. Then I won’t have to worry about what those two bitches, Renee and Michelle, might say to him.’

"Alright." Sean Fuller nodded. "I’ll take you home then."

Seeing this, Michelle Fuller sneered, "Barbie Lowe, what are you afraid of?"

"Sis, what are you talking about?" Sean Fuller frowned, a note of displeasure in his voice. "Barbie isn’t feeling well."

Michelle Fuller rolled her eyes. "My silly little brother, are you really going to believe everything she says?"

Sean Fuller was speechless.

He remembered what happened with Lilian, and the words on the tip of his tongue changed to a slightly suspicious, "Why would you say that?"

"Hmph." Michelle Fuller snorted. "Renee and I are trying to save you. You’re just too naive!"

Green Hat chimed in sarcastically, "You’re a little slow, kid!"

Renee Jennings looked amused. "And what would you know, Green Hat?"

"Don’t underestimate this lizard." Green Hat chuckled. "This lizard knows plenty."

Barbie Lowe’s expression soured. Suppressing her anger, she said again in a cloyingly sweet voice, "Sean, if you won’t take me, I’ll just go home by myself."

"I’ll take you." Sean Fuller stood up. "Sis, whatever you have to say can wait until I get back from taking Barbie home."

Michelle Fuller said, "By the time you get back, it’ll be too late."

Hearing this, Sean Fuller stopped in his tracks. "Sis, what do you mean by that?"

"Barbie Lowe is divorced," Michelle Fuller said in a serious tone. "And she has a son. Did you know that?"

Barbie Lowe’s body went rigid. Her blood ran cold, and for a moment, it felt like her world was collapsing.

"What?" Sean Fuller looked utterly baffled. "Sis, Barbie has never even been in a relationship. How could she possibly be divorced with a son?"

Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow and murmured, "Lilian told you he was a girl, too. Was he?"

Sean Fuller was speechless.

Michelle Fuller immediately gave her a thumbs-up. "Well said."

As Sean Fuller recalled that humiliating episode, his whole demeanor soured.

Barbie Lowe composed herself, turned around gracefully, and giggled behind her hand. "Ladies, what kind of joke is this? You must have me confused with someone else. As for whether I’ve been married or had a son, surely you wouldn’t know better than I do?"

"Of course, you’re the one who knows best," Renee Jennings said unhurriedly. "And I’m sure you also know better than we do why you would hide these things to get close to Sean."

Barbie Lowe’s eyes reddened as she put on a pitiful expression and looked at Sean Fuller. "Sean, why are your sisters targeting me like this?"

She glanced at Renee Jennings and Michelle Fuller and said with a sob, "As women yourselves, you know exactly what words cut deepest for an innocent girl."

"Innocent? You?" Michelle Fuller rolled her eyes in disgust. "You’re not the least bit innocent. You’re a total pervert. You even sell your used underwear online."

Sean Fuller’s eyes shot wide open. He stared at Barbie Lowe in disbelief. "You... you sell things like that?"

"I don’t!" Barbie Lowe immediately shook her head, denying it. "That’s a lie they made up to ruin your image of me! Sean, you have to believe me."

She seemed agitated, grabbing Sean Fuller’s arms with her perfectly manicured hands. He recoiled as if touched by something filthy, instinctively pulling away.

He wasn’t a complete idiot. The incident with Lilian had already made him realize how formidable Renee Jennings could be.

Being treated this way, Barbie Lowe’s face turned livid with rage.

She took a deep breath and looked at Sean Fuller with a hurt expression. "Sean, are you going to believe them over me?"

"Barbie," Sean Fuller said, frowning at her. "I can’t think of any reason my sister and Renee would have to make up a lie like that to ruin your image."

He paused, then continued, "They’re women, too. I don’t believe they would maliciously slander another woman like that."

"What are you trying to say?" Barbie Lowe stared at him, the fury in her eyes almost impossible to conceal.

Sean Fuller pressed his lips together, his gaze complex as he met hers. "Why did you lie to me?"

Barbie Lowe trembled with anger.

She closed her eyes, unwilling to give up on all the effort she had invested in Sean Fuller over the past several days.

Barbie Lowe opened her eyes, and shimmering tears rolled down her cheeks. "Sean, how could you break my heart like this? All those days we spent talking about everything... did none of that mean anything?"

"Just a figure of speech, I suppose," Renee Jennings said in a flat voice.

Barbie Lowe was speechless.

Michelle Fuller immediately started clapping. "Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!"

Even Sean Fuller couldn’t help but say, "Renee, you’ve really got a sense of humor."

Barbie Lowe was so angry she could only laugh in exasperation.

’Damn it. I pour my heart out, making this whole scene so dramatic, and you all treat it like a joke? What does that make me?’

Barbie Lowe was mentally exhausted. She didn’t want to drag this out any longer.

"You people are sick! Sean Fuller, I’m done with you!" She gritted her teeth, spat out the harsh words, and turned once more, preparing to stalk off on her high-heeled "stilts."

"Hold on," Renee Jennings said coldly. "Barbie Lowe, you can’t leave yet."

"Why not?" Sean Fuller asked reflexively. Of course, he wasn’t asking for Barbie Lowe’s sake—he was just curious.

Barbie Lowe froze. She whipped her head around to glare at Renee Jennings, her eyes filled with hatred. "What more do you want?"

Renee Jennings met her gaze calmly, her tone leaving no room for argument. "Leave what doesn’t belong to you."

Barbie Lowe’s heart skipped a beat, a flicker of panic in her eyes. "Wh-what are you talking about? I don’t understand."

Michelle Fuller narrowed her eyes. "You stole something from my grandfather."

"You stole something, too?" Sean Fuller’s eyes were wide with astonishment. He couldn’t believe that the girl he’d been seeing had such a despicable character.

’Not only did she lie to me, she stole from Grandpa!’

"I did not!" Barbie Lowe denied at once. "Don’t you dare frame me!"

Green Hat pointed a sharp claw at her. "You did! You absolutely did! This lizard saw it with his own two eyes! You shameless thief!"

"Barbie Lowe, I suggest you hand it over willingly," Michelle Fuller said, her voice laced with warning.

Barbie Lowe straightened her spine. "I already told you, I didn’t take anything."

Renee Jennings said nonchalantly, "Then let’s call the police."
