Chapter 273: You Should Just Forget Me

Chapter 273: Chapter 273: You Should Just Forget Me

Renee’s cheeks grew warm when Faye Wyatt called her "sweetheart."

She feigned composure, taking the bottle of water and having a few sips. She then said to the driver, "Sir, could you please drive forward? I want to see what Thunderbolt and the others are up to."

"Of course, Consultant Jennings! No trouble at all!" The driver deeply admired Renee, and his gaze in the rearview mirror was filled with adoration.

The flamboyantly decorated Thunderbolt was stealthily approaching Blaze and the six lionesses.

At that moment, Blaze was by the water’s edge speaking to the six lionesses. He was telling them to get along peacefully from now on and stop all the squabbling they used to do.

The lionesses all agreed, promising to get along like sisters from then on.

Blaze was pleased with this and nuzzled each of them in turn.

His nuzzle with Dani lingered the longest, as she was his favorite lioness.

Dani had been Thunderbolt’s first mate, and he had been very fond of her.

Blaze had tried to poach her multiple times, trying to convince Dani to leave Thunderbolt for him, but he had always failed.

His success today was entirely thanks to Thunderbolt’s hideous hairstyle.

Thunderbolt watched helplessly as his mate grew intimate with another male lion. His eyes widened, burning with a furious fire. His entire mane bristled, and his thick, rope-like tail thrashed violently against the grass behind him.

"Damn you!" he let out a dangerous snarl. "Blaze, get your paws off my Dani!"

Blaze looked over at the sound, and his gaze froze. "You... What’s with this ridiculous hairstyle?"

"Shut up!" Thunderbolt roared irritably.

’This isn’t a ridiculous hairstyle,’ he thought. ’Renee prepared it especially for me. It’s supposed to attract the lionesses back to my side.’

Dani stared at the peculiar little things on Thunderbolt’s head, her amber eyes filled with curiosity. "Thunderbolt, what are those things in your mane?"

Dani wasn’t the only one who was curious. The other five lionesses also had their gazes fixed on Thunderbolt’s head.

"They look so pretty."

"That one looks like a red butterfly."

"How did Thunderbolt get those?"

"..."

Hearing the lionesses discussing the accessories on his head, Thunderbolt felt a swell of pride, but he didn’t let it show.

He said calmly, "Dani, Kelly, Timi. I’ve come to take you home."

Hearing this, Blaze immediately became wary and blocked the lionesses. "Thunderbolt, they’re my mates now. They’re not going back with you."

"Thunderbolt, those bows in your mane are so pretty," Timi said, peeking her head out from behind Blaze.

"Do you like them, Timi?" Thunderbolt asked, looking at his third mate. "If you do, I can give you one, but you have to come home with me."

Timi was young, with a lively and fickle nature. Hearing Thunderbolt’s offer, she immediately agreed. "Okay! I’ll go back with you."

With that, she darted out from beside Blaze and ran to Thunderbolt’s side.

Seeing this, Blaze roared furiously, "Timi, how could you betray me? Get back here!"

"I was Thunderbolt’s mate to begin with," Timi retorted righteously. "It’s not a betrayal."

Seeing Timi return to his side, Thunderbolt was overjoyed. ’Renee is such a clever human. Her plan really worked!’

He said to Timi, "Which one do you like? You can take it down yourself."

Timi gently took the red bow from Thunderbolt’s mane with her mouth, set it on the grass, and asked in confusion, "How do you put this on?"

Thunderbolt nuzzled Timi’s cheek and rumbled gently, "Don’t worry. In a bit, I’ll have Renee help you put it on."

"Oh, that’s wonderful!" Timi was both delighted and excited, picking the red bow back up in her mouth.

Kelly stared intently at the red bow in Timi’s mouth, then at the dazzling accessories still in Thunderbolt’s mane. Her resolve began to waver.

’How beautiful would I be if I had something that pretty in my own mane?’

Lost in this fantasy, Kelly started walking toward Thunderbolt.

Seeing this, Blaze growled, "Kelly, where are you going?"

Kelly paused and looked back at him, saying with a toss of her head, "Blaze, I’ve given it some thought, and I prefer Thunderbolt after all. Goodbye."

Thunderbolt watched Blaze’s furious expression, his heart secretly doing a victory dance, but he calmly said to Kelly, "You’ve made the right choice."

With the two mates who had left together now back by Thunderbolt’s side, Dani certainly wasn’t going to stay with Blaze by herself.

’If Blaze’s three mates gang up on me or bully me, life here will be unbearable.’

At this thought, Dani ran back to Thunderbolt’s side without so much as a word.

Blaze froze, his eyes widening in shock. His favorite mate had run off too!

"Dani?" he asked, unable to accept it. "What are you doing?"

Standing beside Thunderbolt, Dani said coolly, "Blaze, I can’t forget Thunderbolt. You should forget about me."

"You!" Blaze seethed, gritting his teeth. "You’ll all regret this!"

"Never!" Thunderbolt roared fiercely. "Blaze, you already have three mates! Stop coveting mine. If you ever do this again, don’t blame me for being ruthless!"

Having issued his warning to Blaze, he led his three mates away.

Once they were far from Blaze and his pride, Thunderbolt stopped in front of the tour vehicle. He turned to face his three mates, his deep eyes filled with gravity. "If you leave me again, I won’t come looking for you."

"We won’t," Kelly vowed. "I’ll never have anything to do with Blaze again."

"Me neither," Dani said. "Thunderbolt, I’m sorry. I was wrong... but I was just so startled by your hairstyle today..."

Timi set the red bow on the grass and snorted indignantly. "Well, why’d you have to show up looking so ugly this morning and scare us?"

"I don’t even know how my mane got like that," Thunderbolt said with utter exasperation. "But how could you all just up and leave? Ah, forget it. Let’s not talk about things that will just hurt our feelings."

"Weren’t you going to have someone help me put on the bow?" Timi urged.

"I’ll get her for you right now." Thunderbolt walked to the tour vehicle and placed his front paws on the wire mesh. "Renee, your plan really worked! All three of my mates are back."

Renee stepped forward and smiled at him through the wire mesh. "Congratulations."

"Thank you!" Thunderbolt’s voice was filled with gratitude. "You’re a good human."

Renee raised an eyebrow. "Then you need to be a good lion, too, and behave for the Breeders every day."

"No problem," Thunderbolt agreed, nodding vigorously. Then he asked, "Renee, could you do me another favor?"

"What is it?"

"My mates really like the accessories you put in my mane, but I don’t know how to do it. Could you help put them on for them?"

"Of course," Renee said, opening the door and stepping out of the vehicle.

Thunderbolt led her over to his three mates. "This is Renee. She’s the human I’m most grateful to."
