The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 186: You’ve Been in His Room

Chapter 186: Chapter 186: You’ve Been in His Room

In the elevator, Renee Jennings idly petted Cici and asked calmly, "Richie, have you considered calling the police?"

"The police..." Roy Colton hesitated. "But I don’t have any evidence. Can a cat be a witness?"

Renee Jennings shook her head. "No, it can’t."

"Then if I report it, will the police believe me?" Roy Colton asked with a wry smile.

"They will." With that, Renee Jennings stepped out of the elevator.

Roy Colton stared blankly at her retreating figure. Just as the elevator doors were about to slide shut, he hurried after her.

"Streamer, do you really think they’ll believe me?"

Holding Cici, Renee Jennings walked with a composed gait. "First, let’s get your blood drawn. Once we have the lab report, I’ll take you to the police station."

"Okay." Roy Colton nodded.

He didn’t know why, but he had complete faith in whatever Renee Jennings said.

Roy Colton’s blood test results showed the presence and levels of triazolam and its metabolites.

He stared at the report, not understanding what "triazolam" was, so he pulled out his phone to search for it.

Renee Jennings had a better connection and found the result first. She read it aloud in a calm voice, "Triazolam. A potent benzodiazepine-class sedative and hypnotic drug."

Roy Colton looked up at her, his handsome face filled with shock. "A hypnotic drug..."

Renee Jennings met his stunned gaze and said calmly, "This is why you were being harassed by Chloe Scott without having any idea."

"She..." Roy Colton was at a loss for words when it came to Chloe Scott.

A thousand unspoken words coalesced into a single, furious declaration: "I’m going to the police!"

"Good." Renee Jennings took him to the police station to file a report.

Roy Colton had expected filing the report to be an ordeal. To his surprise, the officer on duty recognized Renee Jennings. The moment he heard that the suspect was discovered by her cat, he immediately dispatched officers.

As they left the police station, Roy Colton watched the slender figure walking ahead of him, a deep sense of admiration welling up inside him.

’How can a girl be so beautiful, yet so incredibly cool!’

Chloe Scott, still unaware her actions had been exposed by a cat, picked Roy Colton’s lock with a bobby pin and began rummaging through his room.

If she found any security cameras, she destroyed them immediately.

Chloe Scott lay down on Roy Colton’s bed, her mind fixated on whether or not he had a girlfriend.

’She had no intention of sharing her man with another woman.’

The sound of the front door opening suddenly startled her. She scrambled off the bed, frantically shut the bedroom door, and fled into the bathroom.

A moment later, there was a knock on the bathroom door.

Chloe Scott called out in annoyance, "What do you want?"

"Miss Scott, is that you?" Roy Colton asked from outside the door.

Chloe Scott raised an eyebrow, her voice taking on a flirtatious tone. "It’s me."

She opened the door and peeked out from behind it, her eyes full of affection as she gazed at him. "Roy, do you need something?"

"I do." Roy Colton nodded. "Can you come out?"

"Of course." Chloe Scott swung the door wide open, her voice tinged with excitement. "Where are you asking me out to?"

Disgust flickered in Roy Colton’s eyes, but he said calmly, "Come out to the living room. We need to talk."

"Why do we have to go to the living room?" Chloe Scott reached out to touch his Adam’s apple. "Can’t we talk in your room?"

Roy Colton recoiled immediately. "That wouldn’t be appropriate."

"Miss Scott." Renee Jennings came to stand behind Roy, a faint smile playing on her lips.

Chloe Scott’s expression soured the moment she saw her. "What are you doing here?" she snapped. "Are you nuts?"

With that, she shoved Roy aside and tried to return to the room, but after a few steps, she froze. In the living room stood two uniformed police officers, their postures ramrod straight.

Chloe Scott’s eyes widened abruptly, then she guiltily averted her gaze.

She tried to go back into the bedroom but was blocked by a slender arm.

Chloe Scott glared at Renee Jennings, her brow furrowed. "Why are you blocking my way? Get out of my way!"

"Miss Scott," Renee Jennings said calmly, "the police are looking for you."

Chloe Scott glanced at the living room and quickly averted her eyes again. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."

With that, she reached out and shoved Renee Jennings.

Panic seized Roy Colton, and he rushed forward. "Don’t you touch her!"

The two officers in the living room also tensed up. Fearing for Renee Jennings’s safety, they strode over quickly.

Renee Jennings sidestepped slightly, easily dodging Chloe Scott’s hand.

Unable to stop her own momentum, Chloe Scott stumbled and fell to the floor.

The two officers stopped in their tracks. One of them presented his badge and stated in an official tone, "Ms. Chloe Scott, our investigation indicates that you are suspected of using a substance to render Mr. Roy Colton unconscious. Furthermore, you trespassed in his residence and assaulted him. Please come with us to cooperate with the investigation."

"Wh-what?" Chloe Scott scrambled halfway to her feet before her legs went weak and she collapsed back onto the floor. "I didn’t do it! He’s framing me! I’ve never done anything like that! Does he have any proof? You can’t just make wild accusations like that!"

The officer said earnestly, "Ms. Chloe Scott, rest assured, the police operate on the principles of fairness and integrity. We do not wrongly accuse innocent people. Please cooperate with us so we can take your statement."

Chloe Scott frantically shook her head, denying it. "I... I really didn’t."

"There should still be some of your saliva from last night on Roy." Renee Jennings said with a straight face. "That can be sampled for testing, can’t it? Also, you were in his room. You would have left fingerprints on anything you touched."

Saliva samples could, of course, be tested. However, any saliva Chloe Scott might have left on Roy would have long since dried.

Renee was just bluffing.

The two officers didn’t call her bluff. Instead, they played along perfectly. "That’s right. We’ve already contacted the forensics team to come and lift for prints."

Chloe Scott swallowed hard, a panicked look on her face. "I... I... But didn’t I smash all the security cameras he bought? How did you find out?" she shrieked, on the verge of a breakdown.

"So you’re the one who destroyed all my cameras?" Roy glared at her, furious.

Chloe Scott lowered her head, unable to meet his gaze. "I didn’t mean to," she said weakly. "Don’t be mad. Besides, it’s not like you lost anything from this."

"What do you mean, I didn’t lose anything?" Roy clenched his fists. "Let’s put aside the fact that you broke so many of my cameras and wasted all that money! What I can’t accept is that you harassed me every single night and even drugged me unconscious! No wonder I’ve been so exhausted every morning. It was all you!"

"How could you be so disgusting?" he seethed.

Roy didn’t want to say such ugly things to a woman, but at a moment like this, he couldn’t afford to be a gentleman.

"How am I disgusting?" Chloe Scott shot back, looking indignant. "Don’t act all innocent when you’re the one who got the better end of the deal!"

"I got the better end of the deal?" Roy stared at her in disbelief. "Get it through your head—I’m the victim here!"

"Victim? What victim?" Chloe Scott couldn’t help but laugh. "I don’t see a victim. I just see a man! You have a beautiful woman sleeping with you and kissing you every night. You should be thanking your lucky stars, so what’s with this act?"

Roy was so furious he trembled all over. "You’re completely irrational!"
